DEEP THOUGHTS: by Uncle Sargy
So kids, what have we learnt today? We learnt that it took kirottu more than two and a half years to descry the meaning of Sargy's post.

Verizon can't tell a dollar from a cent
The guy got it in writing from them, so yeah he is entitled to the $0.00002/kB rate.

The Man Who Was Thursday
Sorry, It seems I was wrong, those plugins I was thinking of are for embedded video like stuff on YouTube. Either way I couldn't get them to save the stream. VLC media player seems to have a stream capture function but alas I couldn't get that to work either. The documentation isn't that straightforward for a noob.

The Man Who Was Thursday
You don't have to use Real player to listen to streamed real audio files. Real Alternative is a stripped down version that doesn't install unnecessary stuff on your PC. There's a link to it in the Geckling Diaries thread. As for capturing (recording) streams, I think you can get plugins for Firefox that allow you to do so.

The funny videos thread
What's worse....the bastard's actually making good arguments. Then again, he's a major hypocrite. "They're lying by presenting theories...so I'll present my theories as facts!" Good arguments if you cut out the religious bull****. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Umm... he is? Admittedly I only watched about 10 minutes, he was waffling about the Grand Canyon when I stopped. I didn't hear him make any good argument. He makes idiotic inferences from bad observations - no doubt due to confirmation bias. This guy isn't even remotely qualified to comment on "science" let alone teach the subject. What I found scary was that more than a few people were in attendance and were lapping it up.

TV: Heroes
That's pretty much what I thought was happening with Pete but like I said, he is fine the first time we see him and then again in the interrogation - aside from the headache of course. The first time I noticed him looking ill was when Claire went to see him and he didn't seem to benefit from her visit. Thank bloody **** someone else dislikes Hiro! God he is so annoying. I am also rooting for Nathan - he's good guy I just know it! As for Isaac I thought the "powers at a price" motif was interesting. It really emphasised the curse aspect of his gift. But hey I guess his new curse is hanging around Hiro. On the Heroes site it says that the show will return on January 1st but on TV.com the next new episode air date is on the 22nd. So I guess your 9th wonder source is correct. I don't think Ted has been in contact with Peter at all during the show so far. He escaped before Peter was arrested. Also Ted was originally caught and held in California. Peter was in Texas. Not foreign... just weird or Finnish.

The break is four weeks not seven. Hooray! Also, This weeks comic puts a nice twist on HRG. As usual don't read it till you watch the episode.- Another birthday thread!
I know and somewhat pompous and arrogant and stuff. :'( <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tsk, tsk, tsk. Poor astr0 . You know, its not pompous to start your own birthday thread at all. Its more... well I'm sure everyone knows what it is but won't say out of pitypoliteness. Happy Birthdy you Quazy Quebecer.- Merry Christmas Everybody
No no, my good Blank. I think you mean Intelligence = Onur. This is the only possible equation since we know he is high IQ'd.- Giving drugs to drug addicts
Snot really about the addicts themselves...and they never win.- The World's Biggest Straw Yule Goat
Isn't the goat like the Swedish precursor to Father Christmas? That conjures a funny mental image. Meehhhhry Christmaaaaahhhhs!- Movies You Have Seen Lately
I didn't, I just forgot to add it to my previous post. I have already seen four movies today, though. :"> <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Glengarry is a good film though. If for nothing else than being able to get the character of "Gil" on The Simpsons... and the Star Wars parody of the Alec Baldwin watch scene. Al Pacino's performance was enjoyable to me as I like to believe that he was parodying all his post 1970's acting. - TV: Heroes
