Yes, because i really couldnt stand peragus. I was hit by hardware problems (reformatting without being able to backup saves) after getting 4 characters past the peragus (well, some wernt quite through it) part. THen i was gonna have to start from the beginning again for all of them The lightsaber didnt bother me, though maybe it should ask you if you want it rather than just giving it to you. Personally i dont mind, either way you get a lightsaber early on in the game. Ermm... to sum up, yes, i always use it now unless theres a section i wish to playthrough for some reason.

I also have 7800GT (BFG though) and kotor plays fine for me i'm afraid :/ I've had the problem with KOTOR thinking my graphics card didnt meet reccomended a a few times with different cards, i wouldnt worry about it. I would try setting everything to minimum, including your graphics card settings for things like image quality and buffering. Just incase one of the options causes problems. Far cry running too fast isnt a problem, it just means either the frame limiter isnt working, or you dont have enough detail turned on to make the game slower Sorry i cant be of more help.

Depends on my character, but normally i'll stick the armour or a random jedified party member.

Damn, guess i was wrong then I should have known better than trying to apply logic to KOTOR, i've learnt my lesson heh.

Plus since they decided the LS would be the "canon" or whatever, that means that jolee had to survive really. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But that's not it. The developers must cater for all possible outcomes. That's one of the reasons Jolee and the other folks never appeared in K2. The game was a sequal, and because stories must continue without plot breakups, couldn't just take the "canon" way. As it wouldn't be the story of those who played as eg. a darkside female. The canon is just for EU books et all. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If they were trying to make it fit in with every possible outcome then they failed. I cant think of any right now, but i remember there were inconstancies pointed out before in other threads, and it was concluded that LS male was the was reven was in the generic story. EDIT: sorry if this is a bit offtopic " Since i cant think of anything special to back up this clain though, i'll just add in that in my first game revan didnt even buy hk47, yet in kotor2 he claimed reven was his master. certainly didnt fit in with my game

rifles need 2 hands to be fired, yeah? So that get it from the 2 hand bonus. its as simple as that, if you use 1 hand go for dueling bonuses and if you use 2 hands go for the 2 handed bonus.
-
You could also argue HK-47 should never be in any kotor's because reven didnt buy him from the store. Plus since they decided the LS would be the "canon" or whatever, that means that jolee had to survive really.

He would have made an awesome alternate from kriea, each represents the dark and light side of being grey, in a way. I can just imagine jolee wanring you about that old witch, he could have made a good tie in to argue with kriea. It could even have gone to the extent of having both kriea and jolee as your master (kinda) and you get to choose which one to side with depending on your choices throughout the game. I would have loved jolee to pop up on m5 and have a battle with kriea... but thats just me, what can i say, i love the old man

Aaah, so it seems the game has problem with your moniter and not the graphics card. Normally i would suggest looking up the moniter and seeing if it has drivers for download, but with a notebook you cant really do that... hmm. I hate problems like this, because theres nothing from pysicly making the game work, its just damn little bugs. I would check CD's you got with the notebook, or look online, see if theres anything like "general drivers" incase it includes drivers for the screen. If you right click your desktop, go to proporties and then to the "settings" tab, it should display the name of your display, most likley it will say something like "generic moniter" or "generic display". See what it says, it may have the name of your screen and you might be able to check for newer display drivers for it. Aside from that i'm stumped, i'll see if theres anything in windows that i can find that changes how the display is picked up, but i dont think i'll find anything. EDIT: The name of your notebook might be usefull, i'll see if i can find anything online aboot it.

Compared to Jar-Jar my big toe is a really good character GO-TO could have been better, i think maybe if we had seen a bit more of him, maybe if he had sent bounty hunters to get you occasionally, untill you get him later in the game (rather than picking him up so early (if you hit nar shadaar first)) Though i hate his shape and form, he could have been so much more. Same as every character really

I cant think of any real soloution, but maybe running the game in windowed mode will at least make it run? That way the game never makes the request for a resoloution change so you *might* get away with it. Running in windowed mode may decrease your performance though, but its better than not running at all right? EDIT: actually i dont think windowed would be a help, try it anyway just incase, but it sounds like you have a different problem, sorry I know when i changed video cards a few times in my system KOTOR2 got confused as to what card was in the machine, i had to choose the correct card in a drop down box somewhere for it to run. Maybe your KOTOR2 is having problems finding the card? The readme for patch 1.0b says "Corrects an issue with ATI Radeon cards being incorrectly reported in the swinfo.txt" This makes me think that there should be a file called swinfo.txt somewhere that could be edited to report a different card (tricking the game into seeing your card) but a system search cannot find this txt file... EDIT2: ignore the crossed out bit, turns out swinfo.txt is a text file you can create after running the scan hardware button in the config. It doesnt do anything, bah... Does your game match the reccomended requirements? Does it pick up your graphics card when you run swconfig.exe? I'll keep looking for anything else, but i think thats all i can suggest

I read that as "she has stubble" I think i need glasses

I'm so happy to see after nearly 70 votes, not one damn person has voted for GO-TO People seem to becrazy for mira though, never liked her myself
-
For some reason, only 1 ever attacks me per 2 turns... and when they do its not much damage (maybe 1/8th of my health at a push). I just attack kriea and ignore the lightsabers, maybe i;m just lucky...

Are you sure it didnt install anything from disk 4? It sounds like a complete installation to me, if the contents on disk 4 wernt copied i'm doubtfull your game would function at all! I dont think theres a problem here to be honest, though i could be wrong i guess.

Its a slight bug i belive, it always annoyed me that you couldnt go stock up too, but i digress... Kreia or one of your party should surley have force heal? I forget if your locked to having mandalore and kreia in your party, i thought you were but i cant remember. all planets i would imagine would have medipacs for sale.. but since everything item related in the game is random then i dunno. What about making some on a lab? Its a tricky situation if you really need the healing, i can only think of a couple of things. 1: Check party members for "force heal" or similar 2: Hit random planets (if you can travel) looking for somewhere that has medipacks, i'd advise telos as its your first planet and i belive the store near the cantina sells medipacks. 3: Try making some! 4: Beef up a lightsaber and just hack through them

The admiral depends on decisions you made earlier in the game when talking about reven i think. Something like reven being LS/DS or male/female triggers many things ingame, i think carth being an admiral is one of them.

When asking about what Hanharr is, and where he came from: {Shrugs}No idea - he was always just 'Hanharr.' I hope there aren't any more like him. I got the impression he's not a good representative of his people, though - he was the equivalent of a mad kath hound among rontos. Some of Vogga the Hutt's men said Hanharr killed his own tribe, but those two-cred thugs lie every time they open their mouths, so who knows. I don't remember the name - something with too many 'k's and 'y's. Sounds like you're gargling ronto spit when you say it Really; except for Hanharr himself nobody in the whole game knows Wookiees, or Kashyyyk... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dammit, well i was kinda close at least :"> I could have sworn Mira said he turned his planet into slavery after he overthrew his own slavers? I need to playthough again and pay more attention next time really. *sniff* i miss jolee. "i hate you, old man..."

Need Help Defeating Hannar with Mira
Cactus replied to dogteam's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Maybe he was talking about the fight on M5? Thats what i would assume anyway. -
Yes, she seems to "reset" at some point. Meaning if you buy all the stuff from her, she gets a whole load of new stuff in
-
there there now **placatingly pats back** don't take it personally. It's just that people in K2 respect the privacy of the Wookie culture and therefore don't make mention of them... HAHA NOT! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I recall talking to mira about kashyyyk, and how hanharr turned it into a slaving planet... I also think kriea spoke about the "wookie planet" at one point.

Does the whole level just lag? like slow down to 1 frame per second or worse? Or does the level run fine, and your character just does wierd things?

Stupid Question but i need help[ with party config
Cactus replied to war_lemon's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Note that after changing your companions you MUST go back to the game, not to anothe menu! If you change to another menu after editing your party members it will undo the changes. -
JEBUS... HQ Media patch thingy on front page!!
Cactus replied to Jitawa's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The movie resoloution is poor? So far i have heard that; A: The movies are all 1600 x 1200 res B: SOME movies are 1600 x 1200 res C: There are different versions of the movie to match the screen resoloution you play the game at. I have no idea which of these is true anymore, i would guess at B. And from what you said, i get the idea that people playing with 1600 x 1200 resoloutions would think the movies looked bad, because they are used to playing the game at a huge resoloution. However thats not the case, from what i've read its the people with the larger game resoloution that noticed the movies looking better! I myself play at 1600 x 1200 and i thought the movies looked much better. Its all so confusing If the game changes resoloution to play movies, then it should not matter what resoloution people play the game at, because EVERYONE would be seeing the movies at the same res. -
checksum problem...any help appreciated
Cactus replied to sweneric's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I would have said uninstall and resinstall would be the fix, but you've done that so i'm a bit baffled. The only reason the .exe file would not match the checksum, would be if it were changed for some reason... i cant really think of a delicate way of saying it, but if for any reason you switched the .exe file for another .exe file, that would cause it. Reminds me of the problem i had with Street Legal Redline 2, the only way to make it work was to get differant files from different patches, which meant when you wanted to install a new patch none of the files matched and it aborted. Damn thing.
