  1. Well, i've been playing through as DS and only doing the more realistic aspects of DS'ness, and i'm enjoying it. I havnt been forced to break out of character to drown any kittens yet, i've just been a devious underhand DS guy. Though it would be nice if there was a few more opourtunities to exploit things. Hell i even let the live.
  2. Think of the children! I think my favorite is HK47 and the "master" part, something like... Exile: you dont need to call me master. HK47: Statement: Oh, i am aware of that, master. I simply use it to give you the illusion of control and obedience. Humans often need such comfort till the end comes. Exile: What do you mean, "The End"? HK47: Consolation: Master, everyone dies eventually, and not all of them by my hand. Even droids die when not routinley maintained, sadly enough. Exile: But untill you do, you answer to me. HK47: Statement: Of course i do, master. Till the end. One of the few lines that made me feel warm and fuzzy inside
  3. There a mod that makes the "entering security area" thingey go away on manaan, its very usefull. no more long nagging when you go between the monitered zones. Also slightly more on topic, i just finished all of duty 2, in one 13 hour sitting.
  4. Damn, i;ve heard of this before and there was an easy fix, i cant recall it though. I think it was something like switching so your in control of bao dur and then talking to the exile (main character).
  5. Why the voice actor?! he has an awesome voice. I'm doing a DS playthrough with GOTO and HK47 with me t all times, to see how much dialouge they actually do have.
  6. Why do you need that? Isn't EnableScreenshots=1 in Kotor2.ini doing it's job? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I prefer the ingame screenshot too, in kotor1 you could disable the gui for screenshots, cabt do that in kotor2 though i even treid copying the line from kotor1 and placing it in the correct place in kotor2s ini, but it didnt work. And on the subject of amusing glitches. When you get the droid back for the blind craftsman on nar shadaar (the droid you get for/from "tubb") you pay for the droid and it runs off back home. My characters blocked its path, so it never went back. it just stayed there. even re-entering the area it stayed in the same spot! Once a NPC spawned infront of the droid, and since the droid has its welding arm out, it was welding his backside
  7. I once did 11 hours on vice city... without reaslising it. It literally damaged my little finger (damn WASD position) so that insdead of opening and closing like a normal finger, it kinda jumps open and snaps shut. Makes playing guitar a lot tricker... KOTOR (or 2) would probly be about 7 hours if you aside from a break for about 30-45 minutes for food and tea. Though i dont keep track so i could have played for longer and forgotten.. i tend to get sucked into "one more planet" or "i'll just finish this planet" before going to bed.
  8. Errm i always install it, and then install the fix for the patch. I'm not sure if the patch actually does fix anything i have a problem with, but i never wanted to find out. I would say worse.
  9. I still think you could voice bao dur yourself, dashus
  10. I'm with GhostofAnakin, although i was upset when i found it was gone, it made the game seem a little more realistic that i couldnt just "wapr back". My first playthough i thought the return to hawk thing ONLY worked on taris. Boy did i feel silly when i found out you could do it anywhere... And then the inverse effect with KOTOR2, i thought no such transport type thing excisted, then i found out about that warping console thing on telos... *sigh*
  11. The random loot generator had some suprises for me today. First off, Then i get a med pack and 51 credits from THE REMAINS OF A DEFENSE TURRET! I mean some on! what, was the turret gonna heal itself then trundle off to the cantiana and buy itself some juma juice? Great idea, but failing (hilariously) in execution. I think lightsaber upgrades/crystals should have been more redily availible in side quests really, maybe even some unique upgrades.
  12. well, I thought it was master Kavar... dont i feel like an idiot. Is he in deep thought after seeing something just off-screen?
  13. Alas, it seems the secrets of the nun will forever remain forgotton. Nobody in that thread could shed light on her either. I fear she will forever remain a cipher. A cipher wrapped in an enigma smothered in secret sauce. Ah well, that ends my fun for today then
  14. Well i'm not sure where something like this belongs, but since its discussuing the game (kinda) i thought i'd post it here. Well i was poking around in kotor tool, and i stumbled upon a wierd picture... I give you, the nun. Now i'm not sure if anyone has found this and posted it before, i've certainly never heard of it, but i couldnt really search for it since the forum search doesnt allow 3 letter words. Closest i found was a discussion on nun-chukas in kotor... Anyways, i just thought it was a little... wierd, not what i expected to find when poking around the files. If you wish to discover the nun for yourself, proceed to open your copy of KOTOR tool, go to KOTOR2 and go... KOTORII > ERF's > TexturePacks > swpc_tex_tpa.erf > N > nun.tga
  15. I thought there was already a thread like this? probly locked.. anywhoo... I dont think you;ve spelt a single name right of any of the actors, and "nikki kat" brought up... well, people not wearing much clothing, when i googled it. Ralf seems like he would make a good canderous I always imagined helena boham carter being mira.. no idea why.
  16. Yup, then even the eggs can have 2 medkits and 25 credits on their remains "
  17. I used to confuse the red numbers floting up when you hit the eggs for being DS points lol. I did think you got DS points for them though, and if you click on one it says "this egg could be smashed, snuffing out the innocent life within" or something.
  18. Yes, your screen will appear to shrink, because its fitting more pixels into the same amount of pysical size. If you notice that the screen doesnt reach to the edges of your moniter like it used to though, then you need to fiddle with the buttons on the front of your moniter to make it fit correctly. Still no system information from you, so i'm going to advise you use 1024 x 768 or 800 x 640 if you have an old computer.
  19. I voted for Vrook, because i thought it said who most deserved their fate :">
  20. Doh, i never thought of it being an LCD. Curse you, modern technology!
  21. 14" i thin you're probly looking at 800 x 640 as your resoloution for playing games then. Saying that, i have an old 14" that does 1600 x 1200 at 75htz so i cant say. i would try raising the resoloution and see what its like. Ever if we could tell wether the game would run smoothley at a higher res, its your opinion as what looks best. I would advise keeping shadows and grass turned on as they barey make a difference, but i would make sure "soft shadows" is turned off. x4 or x8 aniotropic filter x0/2/4 Anti aliasing (thats upto you) Medium or high textures Vsync on And frame buffer effects on too, i think. I cant really go into detail or guess better than that unless you tell us your system specs.
  22. I never thought of it as missing the door exactly. Think of it more like the door has a lock, or a weak spot, and your trying to hit it.
  23. The resoloution is how many pixels make up the picture on your screen. The higher the resoloution, the more pixels used, so the more detail you can see. Now, the higher the resoloution the more pixels your graphics card has to render, so it will make the game slower. What moniter and graphics card do you have? Also, with a smaller resoloution the more jagged the edges of models will look, because its compressing things into a smaller amount of pixels. On a large resoloution it has more pixels to use so edges look nicer. AA (anti aliasing) smooths the edges of pixels, but decreases the speed the game can play at. So you have to decide which looks best for you.
  24. Whilst we're on about the spacesuit, what was the deal with its animation in kotor2? I'm glad they didnt make it as slow and painfull as they did in the first kotor, but it looks like my character is being electrocuted as he runs along. Or like he's trying to tapdance. And failing. Badly. Would it really have been a big job to give it a slightly better animation? But i'm just nitpicking, i would still rather have the tapdancing fool over the slow drunk-walking-suit from kotor1
  25. Leaving solo mode on- Never had a problem with this characters not following you when they're supposed to- I get this in SOME places, normally when i really need my party they get stuck on a wall or something. and that damn twilek in the military base! URGH! Random Loot generator- Bad. There should be set items for each class of enemy. for example if you kill a jedi, you could take their lightsaber, their robe and they might have a few random loot objects too. Same with blasters, anyone you kill with a blaster should have that blaster on their corpse! Certain places should have "rare" items that are always found. This is in the game, but not often enough. Kreia's 'you can't please me' attitude- Fitted her perfectly, she had to be like that, shes that type of master. Be glad she wasnt like vrook. missing a hit during a fight- That happens... though not often enough. missing a hit during bashing - Never bothered me, "use lightsaber" was one of the best additions to kotor2. Normally someone in my party can open things though. the constant word 'Echo' as well as others - Again, this was supposed to be like this. It was supposed to be overly used. You even question atton (i think atton) about why he said the word "echo". The exile noticed how it was said so often, it was supposed to be over-used. barely being able to upgrade jedi robes - I cant say i ever noticed, i hardly ever upgraded the robes anyway... making your own robes would have been nice though.
