  1. Sean Connery is doing the VO.
  2. The combat's really good, I think that's why it's getting good reviews, plus it's full of Monolith Scary Moments .
  3. Why pick on Gladiator? It's only looked down upon because so many people liked it. As mainstream action films go I found it intelligent and emotional, plus it has a really great score.
  4. Ooh, yes, I think it might be. I had most of the Fighting Fantasy books up to the one where the guy woke up with no memory of who or where he was (such a lame idea ). Appointment with F.E.A.R. was the one where you could play as four different superheroes, yes? I wonder if I've still got it in the loft somewhere... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's the one, I read most of the FF books up till The Riddling Reaver which was too complicated for me. Clash of the Princes was good fun as long as you could find someone to play it with.
  5. I think she probably just needs a hug. She looks sad and helpless; it's all very Ringu, of course. Where have I seen the acronym F.E.A.R. before? I'm thinking 80s cartoon series or possibly puppets, but can't get a clear memory. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is it Appointment with FEAR, the classic adventure game book?
  6. I thought the whole point of Elder Scrolls games was their non linearity, there are 10 major cities you can travel to when you feel like it after all. I thought the video looked great, Oblivion's probably going to be the best sandbox RPG for a long, long time.
  7. Were the shipped movies and music noticeably bad? I still haven't played KotOR2.
  8. I agree, the perfect balance imo is the experienced cartoon voice actors that were hired for the BG games and don't take up half the budget. I'm a movie junkie however and big names still draw me to a game so long as it doesn't suck. Like Sean Bean, Patrick Stewart and Terence Stamp in Oblivion, for example.
  9. Yes, the screenshots are 5+ months old as one of the devs was at pain to point out. Things are supposed to have improved dramatically since then.
  10. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't have a PS2 or an Xbox so it doesn't count.
  11. Actually I think the devs already said they were designing everything to look good from an isometric perspective.
  12. Wow, Gun Voice has one of the best celebrity voice casts that I've ever seen, it also sounds like a really groovy concept for a game, I love the old west atmosphere and I can only think of a few games that've used this setting (Outlaws, Desperados, Wanted!). It's a GTA style romp with a focus on story according to the early rumours on Gamespot with the following VO, I'm a sucker for celebrity cameos. Brad Dourif (LOTR, Deadwood) as an evil preacher Tom Skerrit (Alien) as a frontier rebel Lance Henriksen (Aliens, Terminator) as an evil cattle baron Kris Kristofferson (Blade) as the hero's father Tom Jane (Deep Blue Sea, The Punisher) as the hero and Hellboy himself Ron Perlman
  13. Those coloured shots are much better, well done whoever that was. They look pretty good, and since those shots are over 5 months old they probably look a lot better now.
  14. It can't be any worse than Interplay.
  15. My guess is Atari are hoping for a blitz period where as many people as possible are talking about NWN2.
  16. Hey SubBassman, Just wanted to say your mod looks very interesting, although the main area of the first town seems to be too much for my old PC so it keeps crashing. I'm going to try it on my main rig, it should work but do you have any tips in case?
  17. I can picture the 3D artists now, tweaking every single hair so it's just right. On their heads of course.
  18. So the first screenies are out, but someone is going to have to buy Dragonshard and scan them from the back of the manual. Go on, do it now!
  19. Hubba hubba!
  20. What does this patch actually do? Does it contain more movies and music? If so maybe bandwidth is the problem.
  21. Everyone loves Torment. I was humming the theme tune in my head when I came into this thread.
  22. Did you know it wasn't a CRPG when you came into this thread?
  23. Is there much difference between nations? I remember in the original Civ all it affected was your starting technology and units. Are there uniwue units or anything?
  24. Age of Empires III (new) Anachronox (cheap) Beyond Good & Evil (cheap) F.E.A.R. (new) Icewind Dale/IWD2 (cheap) System Shock 2 (free!)
