  1. so are you going to be zooming around and trying to visit people in each area from here?
  2. I just liked the emo peter pan comment :D "think whiny thoughts!"
  3. I think it's more the fact that (at least in diablo 2) gear wasn't totally randomized, and there was unique pieces, while in ME everything is kinda generic and part of a series. So while D2 has items with legendary stats that are unique in terms of name and everything, ME just has "Juggernaut Mk. X"
  4. What for, Stan Lee created some of the mythology of Spiderman and fantastic 4, and countless other well known superheroes. For this limited to moderately impressive accomplishment he somehow managed to become even more famous than the artists who actually made the comic books. What is the big deal about Stan Lee, other than the fact that he is still alive. With the exception of some iconic fantastic four and even less spiderman the writing is pretty bad. He became Iconic because while he did only come up with the basics for most of the marvel heroes, he was the driving force behind most of the best story lines in the early days, and he made the business successful again after the war genre moved out. He's basically responsible for comics as we know it today (in terms of writing and story). I think part of it is that he's the person people go to to figure out exactly what Marvel characters should think (since they all pretty much come from his brain). Also he has a great sense about self parody (see "So you want to be a Superhero" or whatever reality show that was, and the various robot chicken clips), and is a generally likeable guy. Particularly in an industry where some guys can be total jackholes about things (Alex Ross won't draw anyone who was created after the silver age, Dan Way bans people for asking why he only writes five sentances in a book, Greg Land traces porn and says he doesn't...)
  5. The only annoying part in Max Payne 1 was the dream sequences. The second one does most of the stuff better, but the first one isn't bad either. the third dream sequence is ANNOYING because it's so big and that bloody baby is crying so loud that you want to rip your ears off >.>
  6. Nah, Letterman is to young, Larry King next IMO.
  7. Actually I've found that after the first or second book this series goes downhill into cliche faster than Michael Bay's Explosions. The main character is actually the only guy in the world to have both types of magic, and he always has some fight of the month against an indescribably nasty person, and randomly pulls new powers out of his hat to save his friends and family from said nasty people. And did I mention he's also the superpowered seeker of truth that'll is given OTHER special powers and is viewed by the fates as friggin sweet? The first book is pretty interesting because most of this stuff doesn't happen (well except for the bad guy bit) and a lot is covered up (there's also a funny bit having to do with a wizard, a lynch mob, and the definition of the term witch). Yep, after the first book (which was interesting enough to warrant reading the second and third in the hopes of similar quality) it goes to **** rapidly. Blech. taken from tv tropes about Marty Stu (aka Mary Sue) Richard from The Sword of Truth defines this trope. The only man with access to an "instinctive" magic that means he never has study it. He can fight and kill 30 expert warriors at the same time. He's the only one who can resist the Mind Control magic of the Big Bad, including the people whose deal is turning magic against its wielder. And he's the only one who can protect others from him, but they have to literally bow down and pray to him. He's the only character who can survive being zapped by super-love magic, because he already has super love, and is thus the only man living who can bang the leader of the all-female Confessors, who of course happens to also be the most beautiful woman in the world. Morality is defined by him, as in, anybody who agrees with him is good, and anybody who disagrees with him is evi
  8. Picked up Haze for the heck of it. only played a bit but it's like reviewers said, generic with a single point of differentiation with the drug aspect. The drugs don't really offer much and a good fpser could get through without touching the mechanic.
  9. Planet killing asteroid thanks.
  10. gracias Honestly I think Transformers 2 could have been a LOT better if they'd focused more on the war as a whole rather than how people were fitting in >.>
  11. The Autobot Twins were Sunstreaker and Sideswipe. Sunstreaker was the yellow lamborghini and Sideswipe was red. Sunstreaker was the vain hothead, sideswipe the more prudent. Haven;t seen the flick yet but apparently they made sideswipe a silver corvette and didn't keep sunstreaker with him. If they wanted a single corvette transformer there was always Tracks. yeah when i heard Sideswipe was going to be in it i naturally assumed Sunstreaker would be too i don't get why they're making up all these new transformers though i mean, where's Wheeljack? or Prowl? or Mirage? Honestly I was kinda frustrated that the only autobots who really talked or did anything were bumblebee, optimus, the twins, and a tiny bit of ironhide. Otherwise it was just "generic soldier with name" bots.
  12. >.> *hypes the preorder system like a good little drone*
  13. Not necessarily. I think the chances of Bioware doing a single player continuation of the franchise died, yes, but not Obsidian's. In fact, if the writers at Bioware are smart (and I feel they are), they will look for a way for the people here at Obsidian who are passionate about getting a chance with Kotor III to work with the The Old Republic. I can still see a real Kotor III to end the game series working, especially knowing that Drew Karpyshyn is at Bioware now working on TOR in Texas and Chris Avellone wanting to do a Kotor III. No. Kotor is dead. There won't be another game. EA will say that it distracts from TOR. They need people to keep playing so they can rack up impressive stats and therefore attract new suckers players. EA doesn't own the license to Star Wars, Lucasarts/Lucasfilm does. Lucas gets the decision.
  14. Nah, just undefined. There are no borders so you can always draw in new enemies that the plucky heroes overcome. Usually with a very high tech level that will wreak havoc but still suck compared to a sword.
  15. I really hope they haven't lost interest. Besides I don't play Fallout games. Honestly one thing people don't seem to consider is that a developer can't just say "I wanna make a game for X franchise!" and then do it, they have to get the rights and permissions to actually make the game with the owner of said franchise. As passionate as somebody may be about a particular setting or series, they still have to appease the lords of that franchise to do it.
  16. Just going to point out that there is a very good chance that they will become worse in prison rather than "corrected" due to the culture within set up by the prisoners. There is no way we can get rid of this culture and we'll always find ourselves stuck with a system where you're gonna be making things worse as well as better.
  17. Recently several of the 20 somethings in my area were grumbling because a radio station (KWOD 106.5) was reprogrammed totally with 0 notice. Instead of being a hard rock station, it is now a 90's station. 90's station... now I really feel old when they put up a station that plays music that I grew up to (and MC Hammer with Alan's favorite)
  18. Better, the lich actually planned the heroes entire life, to grow him into a good little soul marred with darkness so the lich can harvest it and have the powers of BOTH sides of the spectrum! His entire life was this lich's plan, and then there's a montage of the different important people in our hero's life that were actually the lich directing him to collect everything he needs to complete the ritual! AND it actually works! until the female love interest cries and a single solitary tear lands on the hero bringing him back to life through the power of LOVE! Then the hero gains superpowers from the power of friendship and kills the lich by becoming a god. And to cap it all off he gives up godhood to be with his one true love *que the awwwwwws*
  19. And there are hints of romantic tension between the cleric and the hero until they learn about their family connection, then it drops faster than a brick into a black hole.
  20. Which is a good thing if Im reading that correctly. It nets me about 200 atk power as a tank, but I was referring more to the ghostcrawler (lead systems designer) post in the tanking boards where he said that if they Buff warriors they'll find the population of warriors inflating more. Literally if you look at patch notes for prot warriors we've gotten jack diddly since Wrath came out. Now they've said "block is a problem, as is rage starvation" but that these things were to complicated to really solve in the next patch so they are going to put them off (said the same thing prior to 3.1, go figure). Problem is that literally I have to hit 3 or 4 times as many buttons on my bars and have a higher level of coordination and awareness to be able to pull off what the other tanks do. Paladins hit a total of two or three buttons to tank (not including panic buttons), druids are a little more complicated and DK's hit 5 max. I hit probably 7 buttons, and one that I leave a brick on because it's my highest threat, and best dps tool in my arsenal (heroic strike). The Designer argument is basically "You can do it so you don't need work... and you don't really need work because you were the best around for 70 levels, time to let others shine!" which sounds like they'd rather destroy a class or let it languish to the point where we are basically useless, because we were popular once upon a time.
  21. We're missing the tiny race that is only in the tale to provide comic relief. You know, Kender, or Gnomes, hobbits (sometimes) etc?
  22. WoW of course... then a went on their boards and learned that my class (warriors) was being neglected and balanced around (and because) of the fact we're popular (in regards to tanking). So I get to run around and put out 10X the amount of work that anyone else does and get nearly the same results, because I was popular 4 years ago... hrm....
  23. So harry is Luke with a little bit of emo and puberty thrown in. anyway, found this when on a 90's hitch in youtube. And noticed them making fun of all the old "well known" dances (YMCA and Elvis/Michael Jackson for example)
