Just goes to show, you can't guard against everything. Actually, no it doesn't. Wear a ****ing helmet. At least in this case.

I agree Quango's evilsoundingness has definitely increased. In fact, why don't we adopt 'quango' as the measurement of inoccuous words becoming evil. So "'polar express' has shown an increased quango."

Following the discussion in the sitcom Cabin Pressure about people's names that sound evil (Russell Crowe, Patek Phillipe etc.) I was thinking about things I now find sinister. Chiefly The Chocolate Factory I can't think of any other phrase that has gained more evil soundingness over the last decade. Any other favourites?

Do all three in quick reverse succession, brace your legs, and shout "HOI!"

I can't comment on how sensible it is or isn't but there's a school of thought that holds you should shock the occupants of a dwelling when you head into it. It's supposed to stun them into not counter-attacking. Of course, if they aren't terrorists then it does annoy the **** out of them. But war in general isn't renowned for its easy going and relaxing qualities.

That line of reasoning seems to imply there's a degree of trolling that's intellectually acceptable

If you're trying to introduce an imaginary friend called Jesus as being more demanding than kids then even as a childless wonder I'd have to admit you're wrong.

I believe it's more medicinal if you lick salt off a stripper's chest first.

I hope to Buddha that oby isn't the standard of rationality for all troll-type youngsters. Two youtube videos constituting a line of argument.

UK Muslims targeted for speaking out about terror
Walsingham replied to Walsingham's topic in Way Off-Topic
I never said Britain was to blame, either entirely or even in the majority. But if you run a place for up to three centuries and you end up with millions of dead and displaced when you relinquish control then there clearly is some blame to be assigned, and it's very easy for the victims to blame the colonial authority for the shambolic change over. Heh, that was largely the justification for colonialism in the first place. I suppose the question I might ask is: If the monied and political class left Great Britain, taking the police, army, judiciary, and welfare services with them, how much violence would happen? -
IMO, the Hobbit would be better rendered as a very long lunch, with anecdotes, than a movie.

You make a good point about us being chiefly exposed to the classes who like us, for obvious reasons. However, I also note that you mention partition killing people. I find it patronising in the extreme to treat the genocidal behaviour of Indians as the puppetry of Whitehall. Not to mention seemingly excusing the perpetrators on grounds of somehow diminished responsibility. I feel quite strongly that by our excess guilty feelings we have allowed decades of violence and bad government all over the place. Writing it all off as inevitable, and our fault. People have suffered and died needlessly to satisfy post-colonial narcissism. -
Mild depression day today. Some anhedonia. Meat just not interesting. White bread tasty. Wonder if my taste buds have just inverted. Laughed a lot at the radio sitcom Cabin Pressure. Killing gnazis now. EDIT: The little kid next door has learned the F word and has REALLY impressive lungs on him. I know it's juvenile, but I do find it hilarious.

Credit where it's due. This is genuinely quite scary looking.

Two further points: 1) If you detailed someone you get your product or club or whatever an online presence and they DIDN'T involve Youtube, how would you feel? 2) If 1/3rd existing review providers disappeared, would reduce those watching or concentrate teh number to those providers who had acquired some legitimate ability to use footage?

Volunteer voice actors?

Speaking as a member with voice training, I'm fully up for it. Bring on the posh chat there. -
I assume you're not talking about a cartoon mad guy? As we've discussed in Way Off Topic on this forum, there's far too many lazy stereotypes about mental illness. I'd like to see smart ordinary people. Folks with simple ambitions, but not simple minds.

My opinion, after following this debate here is that a lot of people will make a lot of sound and fury ...and carry right one with Youtube as before.

And I'm saying that if you go right to the edge of ANYTHING you will inevitably fall over at one point or another. I'm not denying there are shiftless halfwits making inadvertant babies. But I'm also saying that you can do the same from an excess of adventurousness, and a cavalier disregard for danger. If the latter then I'm glad such people are having babies.

I accept you can't think of many instances. I would suggest that - due to the two way traffic in mores and culture - India is an example of a good relationship. I'm not saying it justified anything. I'm just saying you can see it evident in many levels, even to this day.
