Weird News Stories
My father had an excellent approach to reading. He would periodically tell me I wasn't old enough to read various books, and this guaranteed I'd read them at least twice as soon as possible.

US debt default
That links to WSJ for me, not DB.... The article I read at DB was an opinion bit by a bloke named Nick Gillespie, who I would argue is generally biased. If I'm reading the wrong article, I apologize. You probably are. Sorry. Didn't realise they'd crosslinked. I also don't generally read the Beast. So apologies if it's too biased.

Dwarven beards in PE
Would a manicured and jewelled beard be a beajazzle? EDIT: Would dwarven women put their beards behind a cloth or metal covering? The equivalent of a male going topless while women generally don't? Making dwarven armour a secondary sexual characteristic?

Interesting, but... since it's a role-playing game, it is the player, *you*, who plays the role and should have some freedom in deciding whether attack or not. Maybe your fellow companions should be expected to do some action in regards to their beliefs, but the PC? I guess you could do something contradicting your "nature", but have some consequences of that action later on. Like a paladin losing powers due to an evil deed. OK, so perhaps only a couple of classes would have restrictions?

US debt default
Judging by this article from the Daily Beast, the healthcare reform this was all about is going to be technically unsound in any case. If correct, I suggest Obama's best bet for a solid legacy is to call off the battle and surrender the issue. Fielding something broken will only discredit him, and the entire effort.

Armour & weapon designs - a plea (part IV).
Note the helmet with procupine quills. Saw this in person recently. Very striking. And to finish, another Giles Foden helmet.

*ponders* Should different classes have different tactical options? I mean, (purely for example) a bushido following samurai would be obliged to stand his ground no matter what. Might add an extra layer to classes.

What you did today
What a great feeling, nice job. Tea and strumpets, now, for sure. Actually, I did some work, and got an early night. Slept like a top.

What you did today
Isn't the correct slang 'kilt'?

The funny things thread
That gag is waaaaay too similar to the stuff I was reading the other day about white supremacists, dude.

What you having for dinner tonight?
Leftover roasted vegetables, half teaspoon garam masala, black pepper, chicken and beef stock cubes, boiled, blendered, then one egg added to give savour. Thick and very filling.

If Obsidian kickstarts a space opera RPG, would you back it?
One way to settle this: Gutenberged

Sorry I was gone so long
Again, I can honestly say that no other video has ever made me feel that way.

US debt default
I'm no expert, but I think a lot of it is location. And a lot of that is perception. I got a good deal on my place which in London would have cost roughly three times as much. Of course in the UK it's also about the cost of land, and the government associated costs of building. But in general you're quite right. Building from scratch is actually pretty sensible. Actually (excuse the braindump) I'd say the biggest reason was risk on your contractors. If you can't control your contractors then you could be left with a really crap house.

Can I just say that this is the most graphs and bar charts I've ever seen in any discussion EVER.

What you did today
Oh yes, nearly forgot. I just got back my results from an assessment for professional accreditation that I did a few months back. I passed! Absolutely chuffed, particularly with the comments on my project work. Hadn't realised I'd been nervous about it until found out!

Armour & weapon designs - a plea (part IV).
Maybe he's worried that if they have 18th century Enlightenment Africans then the next thing would be 21st century Space Jews, and then he'd feel all weird and conflicted.

Small suggestions. Easily implemented ideas, quickfire thoughts.
The temptation to be a lvl 30 'Wanker/Rogue' would be too great.
