Did the Jedi Have it Coming?
EnderAndrew replied to Darth Jebus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I always got the impression that Lucas tried to drive that point home. Though, we haven't seen the whole story. There's the lost 20. The council debated trianing Anakin. They remain uninvolved in so many affairs, and place great important on small affairs. They're too involved in politics. Anakin brings "balance" to the Force somehow. I think the Jedi and Sith both needed a purge. -
The blade of a saber supposedly has no weight. Fighting styles with lightsabers and conventional fighting styles should be considerably different.

About the Final duel and the "Sith Lords"
EnderAndrew replied to Tyrell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I walked through Malak like he was nothing. I didn't use cheese tactics, or any Force Powers other than heal. I had a powerful character, and good equipment. I double-wielded two powerful sabers, and wore powerful armor. With the right equipment, my strength was ungodly and I just smacked Malak around. The FF series (while apples and oranges to CRPGs) often featured lengthy-difficult battles for the end boss. I rarely see this in CRPGs. -
Make the Dark Side more seductive!
EnderAndrew replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Maul was quite skilled in martial arts and the saber. However, who is to say he used the Force and the Dark Side all that often? Perhaps Palpatine feeds on that power far more often and thusly he has much more DS rot. -
Sorry I confused myself with the two words..... The Geohardan thingy was good but I Really wanted to be a LS character so i did'nt do the mssions. I played a LS character who finished maxed on LS points, though I did get like 3 or 4 DS points during game-play. I killed Bendak, and and did the Geohardan quest.

I agree. When I read about Longhorn for the first time, it struck me as being innovative until I really thought about it. That's why I compared it to what Java already did to an extent and pointed out that Java atleast supported multiple platforms while Longhorn's new client-side applications are platform dependent.

So many other aspects of the relationship were so fufilling that sex didn't mean as much. If I'm really happy with a person, and I can fall back upon the good ol' five-knuckle-shuffle then why should sex matter?

Though I don't see it emphasized in every sect or text, there are places where Buddhism states that you don't exist. How can you see yourself clearly if you don't exist? Am I supposed to be a piece of a larger puzzle realizing my role to bring knowledge back to the larger self? If that is so, then wouldn't karma be a silly system under the common context that going good things reaps good karma? If we don't really exist in the big picture as individuals, then personal karma would seem to be a lie. There are Chinese thinkers who have suggested that the concepts of good and evil are meaningless. If you follow your dharma, to whatever end that entails, you receive positive karma. What is your take on this?

I think it's odd to contrast some of the lengthier relationships I've been in. (Mind you, I haven't really been single in the past 12 years). My highschool relationship that lasted two years was all about sex and drama. All we did was have sex, all the time. Then she cheated on me constantly. I often wondered if she was a border-line nympho. Then I dated a girl for four years that is a virgin to this day. We're still best friends, and we've always been very close. But she's got hang-ups about sex. I was very patient and understanding. Then I date D. We have both a very strong emotional and physical relationship. Yet there were definately some issues there. Now I'm living with a girl in a very healthy, mature, considerate relationship. It lacks the emotional and physical intensity of past relationships, but it's also considerably more healthy. Occasionally I wonder what might have happened if I met other women later in life when I was more prepared for a healthier relationship. However, all I can do is try to focus on the relationship I have. No person is perfect. What matters is how I feel about the person I'm with. You just try to be accepting, considerate and compassionate. Or you can believe that relationships are the dressing that we build around our primal desires to have wild monkey sex.

On the subject of Kill Bill, they just screened a singular Kill Bill movie pieced together. The reviewer claims that it greatly changes and enhances the movie seeing it together. I liked both parts seperately. However they seem quite diferent to me. And I'm not crazy about sitting through a four-hour movie. What do you think about a four hour Kill Bill?

Raven, You've created some rather useless polls. And you post about Chairman Kaga on the Obsidian Forums. You have absolutely no right to complain about Kotor mods being spam on a Kotor-related forum. At least these topics have some semblence of being on-topic. I'm hard pressed to find any posts of yours that have validity.

Spellmar says: Factions Fractions are a mathematical representation of a quotient such as 1/2. Overall, I think this is a good idea. I enjoyed the Geohardan Bounty Hunter quest even though it was a bit straight-forward. I'd like to see more quests the involve multiple locations. The Geohardan quest also turned out to be a sham, but the idea of having these factions to join was nice if only as a brief illusion.

My intepretation is that Buddhism doesn't reject the concept of a soul, so much as the soul's individuality.

Now that we've had a few votes, I'd like to break down some of the numbers. Three options received zero votes. Improving the sidegames [ 0 ] [0.00%] More cutscenes [ 0 ] [0.00%] New Feats [ 0 ] [0.00%] Yet sidegame improvements and more feats are in the works. Combat tweaks and Force Powers had only one vote apiece. Force Powers are in the works despite not being very popular. Combat tweaks will probably be minimal in KOTOR:TSL Combat System Tweaks [ 1 ] [1.75%] New Force Powers [ 1 ] [1.75%] Another feature in the pipes with very limited popularity in the poll was animations. New Animations [ 4 ] [7.02%] Out of the ten options, only four seemed to be popular. Sidequests [ 9 ] [15.79%] NPCs more responsive to alignment [ 10 ] [17.54%] Immersion stuff (hoods, robes, hilts) [ 12 ] [21.05%] Bigger levels/worlds [ 20 ] [35.09%] FU said sidequests wouldn't be added simply to add sidequests. On one hand, I infer that sidequests will be more meaningful and I'm glad. It could also mean less sidequests. We haven't heard much from the devs on the NPC issue. Hilts should be in the pipes, and we've seen some improved robes. How many types of robes will make it into TSL is still unknown. The most popular option by far was bigger worlds. Yet the dev comments so far have largely suggested similiar size to KOTOR. The most recent comments have suggested perhaps a small increase in size, but that's still uncertain. I'm a little disappointed that the project was kept in secrecy so long. Many of the features and improvements that will make KOTOR:TSL will be features people don't care as much about. The features we really want to see may not make the game because of how far they are in the development process. I know LA wanted the game kept secret, however I hope Obsidian tries to incorporate fan suggestions earlier in the development process in the future.

I doubt we'll see Morrowind size. But the latest interview and dev comments have me expected we might see slightly larger areas. Frankly, I think a Star Wars Morrowind Total Conversion would be great. However, it would probably only be one huge planet. Or you'd have to code/script "transportation" between planets.

It would be hard to argue this.

The fate of the Selkath depends on how you played the first game. If you played LS, the Selkath eventually learn of the Sith's treachery and start to lean away from the Sith.

I've considered downloading it. I just don't even have the time to touch my home PC these days.

Buddhism has many sects and off-shoots. Thusly I try not to get too specific when discussing Buddhism. At the moment, I'm in the middle of The Dhammapada. However when I discuss Buddhism, I try to stick close to the basic tenets of Buddhism that seem relatively universal to the varying sects. This particular thought, that the desire to change was a desire in and of itself just happened to pop into my head while listening to Pearl Jam's Lost Dogs album. (A great buy BTW). If you're happy with Zen-Buddhism, great. If it isn't desire that motivates you, then why do you get up each day? Why do you believe the things you believe? Why do you adhere to certain tenets and practices? What do you strive for? Why do you strive for it? I believe all humans have goals and objectives while they may be so simple that we overlook them.

I think the Obsidian crew should have a contest where the winner could have their likeness (or cyber-likeness) as a NPC or easter-egg in the game.

It seems like dialogue options in general were cheesy. I expect this to be largely improved.
-
Maybe Bioware really liked that face.

MCA's stories have had darker tones in the past. I expect the same with KOTOR:TSL The devs have said that you will be able to filter inventory.

Jolee was a grey Jedi. And PCs could alternate between good and evil decisions on a case-by-case basis, hoping to strike a balance. Jolee almost seemed to advocate this. Or you could avoid all the sidequests the focused heavily on choosing sides. So there were grey options despite the fact that Star Wars seems to focus on the spaghetti-western ideal of good guys vs. bad guys.

Activision was holding the Star Trek license last time I checked. Then they sued Viacom for driving the Star Trek intellectual property into the ground. Activision seemed to have no desire to do anything with the license. Nor does anyone else.
