  1. ::cough:: spam ::cough:: If you want to bump a topic, then at least either admit to bumping it, or try to come up with some comment to add.
  2. Bioware doesn't own Star Wars. However, the have the license to utilize Star Wars content in KOTOR. And they own KOTOR:1
  3. Ouch. There's a team whose management and front office need to be shot.
  4. The best part is if you play LS, you get LS points. And at the same time you drop her off on Dantooine before the planet gets bombarded. She still dies.
  5. I rarely buy console titles in the $50 price range. I wait until I can buy them cheap or used. Thats why I have a huge game library.
  6. By the end of KOTOR, you could roll through anything. You were far from average. Add to this the idea that we'll likely see level 30 in KOTOR:2. Equipment was readily available that pumped your attributes up considerably. My stats at the end of KOTOR were sick. What more do you need? Random dice rolling is silly for attributes. A fair game system allows all players to start off on equal footing. I'm with Opus on this.
  7. You are both wrong and right. If you take physical paint or dyes, and mix them, eventually you get black. The absense of dyes and paint is white. However, as colors of light converge, they become white. White is all colors of light combined. Black is the absense of light.
  8. Taking a wild guess here. Are you a Celtics fan? If so, I feel for you.
  9. You should plant the seeds of self-destrution within others. Turn enemies on one another. Acting out in direct violence all the time is frankly stupid.
  10. I'm pretty sure Bioware retains rights to KOTOR:1. And Bioware is unlikely to do it. If they really wanted to support the game, we'd see more content for download, or X-Box live content.
  11. Well, Longhorn is in beta. Things can change. And Longhorn should run older Windows apps programmed in the older API. However to take advantage of Longhorn's new features, you need to program in the new API. One of the things Longhorn does is allow you to launch an application remotely over the net, or an intranet even if it's not installed on your machine. I can write a full Windows program in the new API, taking advantge of everything Longhorn offers, and put it on my website. You can run it 100% remotely. It's both wonderful and scary. It also sounds alot like what Java promised years ago before MS screwed with Java. (Sun really should have won that suit). Yet with Java, it ran on any platform. You'll need Longhorn to run a Longhorn app remotely. It's clever business-wise, yet evil.
  12. My five would be similiar. 1. Consideration People often exist in relationships that are in many ways self-serving. However, if you really care about someone, then you actively think about them and demonstrate your consideration for them. 2. Compassion Your heart is a muscle. Flex it. 3. Trust Relationships are about accepting each other for who you are. If you're not honest and yourself, how can they ever know you let alone accept you? Reciprocally, you need to trust someone completely. 4. Forgiveness If you can't forgive someone, then you can't trust them. It bothers me when people promise "never to ever-ever hurt one another". s*** happens. We're human. Write off mistakes and move forward. 5. Compromise Meet someone half-way. She may like watching soap operas. You find them stupid. You like to watch football. She finds that stupid. Don't criticize each other. You don't have to see eye-to-eye. You just have to accept each other and find a middle ground to meet it. Watch a chick flick with her. And ask her to watch your movie with you another night. D and I used to "trade" movies.
  13. She liked sex. And we had a great sex life. That doesn't make her a ****. She loved sex with me and was quite faithful though she did often offer to have threesomes. I never got to take her up on said offer however. And for the record, she asked me to marry her. I said no, and that was that. She never spoke to me again. Last I heard she graduated from UCSC and moved out to Virginia. She's got some high-paying job in DC. We have mutual friends still, but like I said, she never spoke to me again.
  14. First off, I'm not a Lakers fan. I lived in the LA area for quite a while, but never cared for the team. I borderline loathe the team. I don't care if a team loses a game. However, the Lakers don't put out any effort. Reading the LA Times and Orange County Register every day, you see stories of Kobe crying like a baby about not getting the ball enough. Then Shaq whines about not getting the ball enough. Then Payton whines. Last time I checked, Malone was chasing history with his scoring records and sacraficed that to be a role-player in LA. You don't hear him whining. However, he doesn't seem to be happy in LA and his play reflects this. Saving money to travel and see your team in the Finals is expensive. That one game may be the only one you go to. That may be a once in a lifetime experience. If your team loses an epic battle, it sticks with you. It hurts, but it also vindicates you as a real fan. (I like to point to my experiences with the 1993 National Championship game between Nebraska and Florida State) However, when a team comes out that flat and never really competes. That stings. The Lakers didn't care. Shaq dominated underneath, and his "teammates" didn't feel like passing the ball. Their childish fights and egos got in the way of victory. The Lakers are a superior team talent wise. It's not even that close. However, you watch the Pistons play and you see intensity. In Game 6 of the Pacers-Pistons series, Indiana was right about to steal a victory with an easy lay-up to get back in the game with a minute left. Out of no-where, you see a Blue Jersey fly across the screen. Blocked. Denied. The Pistons are laying it all out on the court. The Lakers seem like they could care less. That is a disservice to their fans.
  15. I certainly want to meet that EnderWiggin and kick his teeth in.
  16. Lee had many great roles over the years, but perhaps was most famous as a Bond Villian.
  17. ESPN Lakers Story This is what I'm talking about. I ripped LA for constantly giving a disservice to it's fans. I don't understand how people can root for LA. This is what I'm talking about. They play when they want to play. Koba can throw a fit and decided not to shoot all night. Kobe, Shaq and Payton squabble when they feel like it. They also steam-roll teams when they feel like it. I'm not an LA fan. However, despite the Game 1 performance I believe deep down that LA could crush this Pistons team if they really felt like it. I said crush. Fisher had an off game, but there are days where I think when it comes to "gut-checks" he's the only basketball player out there. The Lakers need leadership in this cloud of egos. They need Steve Kerr to pull his aging, small body off the bench to hit some shots and make the starters look bad. Too bad Kerr is retired. LA wake up, and listen up. Listen to your coach and play with intensity, or the honeymoon is over. Not that it's been a great marriage.
  18. That's good to hear. Commence appendage-crossing again.
  19. I'd really like to see some support for the fan community in Obsidian's next project such as a toolset, post-launch downloadable content, integration of fan suggestions and contests to include a fan-made NPC or two in the game. SSE is incorporating many of these in their upcoming title "The Fall". I've never played any of their titles before, but I'm sure going to give "The Fall" a chance because of their dedication to recognize and support the fan community. Many of the Obsidian staff have great resumes. However Obsidian is a new company. Troika rests on the laurels of the Fallout franchise that was never put out under the Troika banner. I'd like to see Obisidian make a new name for themselves, and cement themselves as a premiere developer in fan's eyes. While catering to the fan community has not equaled great financial success in the past (Fallout being a fine example), word of mouth is becoming more and more important. Internet buzz keeps getting louder and louder. I like to point to Kingdom Hearts, which had a weak marketing campaign and a horrible image at launch. Most people anticipated the title to fall on it's face. Popular word-of-mouth carried that game to millions of sales both in NA and Japan. It stands as one of the best selling titles on the PS2 to date. Building a strong internet fan-base prelaunch can create similiar positive word-of-mouth advertising.
  20. I've had a weakness for their NCAA College Football games. Perhaps I will resist the temptation of the darkside this year.
  21. Perhaps a vampiric drain on the victims ability to wield the Force (force mana in this sense)?
  22. Origin is no more. I heard EA considered reviving Privateer as a MMO game. But I doubt that will happen. Other than maintaining Ultima Online, and it's new incarnation Ultima X: Odyssee, the Origin properties are all quite dead.
  23. If there is a black saber, I think it should be a Sith-specific artifact.
  24. Damn EA for buying out and ruining Origin. I would love to see another Wing Commander game.
  25. I don't have a great love for the Rouge Squadron series, but the third certainly looks the best and provides the greatest challenge. And while I love my PS2, and like my GC I find it hard to deny the greatness that is the X-Box. A fine processor, a beautiful progressive scan image, HDTV support, a built in HDD, and a better DVD player than the PS2 make it a fine piece of hardware. Did I mention built in network support, built in four controller support and the ability to download music to the HDD of your X-Box and integrate that into certain games? The only question to ponder is whether or not X-Box titles appeal to you. They are fewer than PS2 titles, but I think there are some good X-Box games out there. I don't anticipate booting up the GC again until I buy Mario Sunshine, Double Dash or Zelda. The jury remains out on Crystal Chronicles.
