Questionable quality of Obsidian boards
I always thought the board could use a wee bit more moderation, or at the very least, more consistent moderation. I understand, and don't have a problem with the influx of NWN fans. We did the same thing over at Bethesda's forums when Fallout 3 was announced. There are boards like RPG Codex, where flaming is heavily encouraged. Stupid posters are made an example of, and it's dog-eat-dog. Everyone knows this, and that's the way the board operates. There are boards that are heavily policed, and flames are not tolerated. Everyone know this, and that's the way the board operates. This forum fits neither category. The board has policies, but they're not clear, nor are they upheld with a modicrum of consistency. We have an off-topic area, but spam is deleted there. Which topics are on-topic in the off-topic area is anyone's best guess. People get flamed all the time, and I've seen the worst vulgarity imaginable posted here (any one who tries can get around profanity filters) and nothing happens most of the time. Yet, on a rare occassion, a post is deleted, or a user gets a slap on the wrist. My behavior on a forum is largely guided by the policies on said forum. It's too bad that I've been reading this forum since the days of Project X, and I have no clue what those policies are. Nor is this the first time I've made such a statement with no real response from the staff.

These numbers show actual budgets from 2000 on, and the proposed numbers for the next few years.

I figure that people might want to actually look at numbers. http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/fy2005/tables.html Some of them are quite surprising.

Video Card
Slick's got it right. That's the way I'd go. And if this is a game-rig for Doom, I'd go with an Athlon-64. But overall looks good, and I love www.newegg.com

If The Game Is Done?
I need to pick up a copy of NCAA Football, but if I do, I won't get any work done on Fanout! I'm curious how Nebraska's new West Coast offense is represented in that game, especially considering there really wasn't a depth chart released for Nebraska when that game was being made.

Most consoles ever created were based off PC technology.

That would be wonderful. I think we're both tired.

Inappropriate Posts
Overall, I think it's a good idea.

On San Diego Beaches
Santa Cruz has the nicest shoreline I've seen. It's very clean, and gorgeous. The sea lions come right up to you on the shore, and you can feed them fish from the fresh fish vendors.

On San Diego Beaches
Don't suggest to me that people purchase illegal narcotics in Southern California. I can't process such notions. In general, I love San Diego. I rarely spent time on the beaches themselves, and while I second the notion that Corando is probably the best beach, I think the bay is overlooked. Screw the sand. Get out on the water! It's all about the wake-boarding!

Team America: World Police
I'm interested in the movie, but I didn't think the trailer was particularly funny.

what the hell
I've seen a bunch of sites like this. A bunch of times they're fake, though betas do get leaked from time to time. This site is clearly a fraud however.

Re-makes of the greats
See. that's the thing. Games like WC3 are RTS rather than a tactical RPG. With a tactical RPG, every unit has unique stats, and advances. WC3 has heroes, who have this to an extent. Imagine how slow WC3 would go if you needed to do exact movement for each troop, and give each attack command for each unit every round rather than having reat-time combat?

Since everyone reads this instead of quality threads, let me throw out some advice. If there is a sticky, READ IT! You'll find that many of your suggestions and questions have already been asked and answered. That rule applies to any board with stickies.

Who will be next?
The devs have joked about him.

KOTOR2 At Christmas??
We'll see when we see. It may depend how quickly Lucas handles their end.

Obsidian stock symbol
Wasn't Interplay supposed to be "by the fans, for the fans?" Why not sell their licenses to actual fans of the series (like Troika, Obsidian or the like)?

Stupid suggestions should not be linked directly to newbs. Certain people have good ideas, and others do not. This is not determined by the length of time being here.

Samurai RPG
Okay, what about something like Xenogears? Numbers and stats control combat. However, you can select different combos to try. Different combos have different effects on different enemies. You unlock and learn more combos as the game progresses. The combos aren't twitchy moves you do, but rather a series of button presses, like X-O-X-Triangle-Square.
