  1. I'd like to see something more like Legend of the Five Rings, and less like Onimusha. Demons/Oni are fine. Guns and time-travel are not.
  2. I've been thinking. If the game has VASTLY different endings, one of which involves you taking over the Sith, then those endings have to be incorporated into KOTOR:3, unless KOTOR:3 is a prequel, or set way in the future.
  3. You should be able to stop the trailer and move one frame at a time.
  4. Chris talks about Atton a lot, and I figure we'll hear about him next.
  5. Affect Mind/Force Persuade is only supposed to work on the weak minded. People forget that all the time. Hutts and Toydarians are also supposed to be immune to it. Using Affect Mind on a stormtrooper is very different from using it on a fellow Jedi.
  6. The game should feature both ninja and samurai. However the player character, and focus of the story should be on one side or the other. I'd prefer a serious, samurai based story.
  7. The stock went up .75 bottlecaps today.
  8. The Village was weak not only from a writting stand point, but from a directorial stand-point as well. The few tense, horror scenes were well-shot, but had little lead up, and little pay off. The ending (of which I refer to when the credits rolled since there wasn't an ending to speak of) went 10 minutes too long.
  9. I sure hope they keep the narration. Last I heard the movie script is considerably different from the book, which is considerably different from the original radio drama. However, the differences stem from Adam's own writing. He wrote the first draft of the movie script, which had some considerable changes from the book. I'm withholding optimism, but I'm very curious about the movie. And some **** stole my copy of Salmon of Doubt from a coffee-shop where I was reading it. I never did finish that book.
  10. Your proposed system seems very reasonable. My concern is the memory. I personally think that you should always stick with big name brands on memory. I've seen too many horror stories. Does you board support SATA? If so, the 73 gig SATA Western Digital HDD's are very nice and won't break the bank. You're buying a copy of Windows? Do people actually do this? I'm not really sure about this new PCI-Express video card affair. I'm buying a Radeon 9600 Pro pretty cheap ($90) with 256 megs of memory on it. It's not bleeding-edge, but it does have support for Direct X9, and AGP 8x with 256 megs of DDR. Can you beat that for $90? Do I really need to spend $400 on a video card that will sell for $150 in a year? I may not even pick up Doom 3 or Half-Life 2 immediately. I may wait until I can get the game cheap (legally) and have a system that won't blow up trying to run it.
  11. I prefer my white-boy angst in grunge form. Morrisey likes to whine. And I don't find his lyrics all that brilliant.
  12. I think Signs was brilliant. It was a clear homage to Alfred Hitch****. I think he's batting .500 as a film-maker.
  13. After Unbreakable greatly disappointed me, I went in with an open mind. The film was alright, but there was too much foreshadowing, and the end hammered in the point repeatedly. I don't like the message, and there was only one shocking moment of the movie for me. It sure wasn't the end.
  14. How many tactical RPGs have you played? If you want large armies, then play the Total War series. If you want a tactical RPG, then you're dealing with small squads, or battles would take ages. I wouldn't mind seeing a darker, grittier tactical RPG.
  15. I think they should have killed Superman off for good. The guy is boring. I always liked to wrestle people much higher than me in my weight class. I actually did better than when wrestling in my own weight class. I largely use my speed to my advantage, but those in my weight class were almost as quick as me, and often stronger. The key to any fight is fighting on your terms.
  16. The Scorpion are very interesting plot-wise. I think it takes a good role-player to portray them properly.
  17. I looked online at some of the Shadowland cards (like Festering Pit of Fu Leng) and got hooked. I love the Dragon clan in the PnP game, but I didn't care for their cards.
  18. You're partial Japanese? That's quite nifty. I'm Irish, and well, Irish.
  19. I forced my regular roleplaying group to take a break from Star Wars and White Wolf. I dropped down the L5R first edition book, and they all groaned. "T. J., we know you love Japan, but we don't." After two sessions, they were all hooked, and loved Rokugan. But most of my friends are opposed to card games in general. We look down upon dirty Magic players. Personally, I don't care for Magic, but I enjoyed L5R, and V:TES.
  20. I never played the card game much, as I lacked players. So, I only own about 200 cards. I mainly played the PnP game. I wanted to try Clan Wars as well, but again lacked players. Out in California, L5R seemed much more popular. In the midwest, it's all Magic, Pokemon and Warhammer.
  21. The Bloodspeakers practice forbidden blood magic (Maho) and serve Iuchiban, who has been imprisoned for hundreds of years. Iuchiban is considered as dangeroud and as formidable as Fu Leng himself.
  22. Maho is your friend. You know you want to try it! I won't tell anyone!
  23. Watch Raging Bull sometime. He didn't really have the build of a heavyweight. Did it matter? I always though the huge, square-jaw muscleman look fit Superman better than Batman. I thought Batman was all about being driven.
  24. You're talking about one of my favorite people in the whole universe, but I do understand that not a whole lot of people were happy with her storylines. I think writing for White Wolf, and spending too much time in the Cam affected her view of L5R. However, there are near-perfect people in the world, and Ree is one of them. She's brilliant, gorgeous, funny, a great role-player, a good writer, a good sword-fighter, and absolutely adorable. She's also horribly private because of stalker issues she's had. Since I broke up with my fiance, and left California, I've never spoken with Ree since. I've spoken with her old boyfriend, but that's about it.
  25. I think acting talent is far more important than physical build. I'm glad that they didn't go with Guy Pearce. Nolan may think the world of Pearce, but I sure don't.
