  1. I used to drink coffee like mad. I'm a caffiend.
  2. Jade Empire and KOTOR:2 were the only XBox games I really want to play these days.
  3. I named my character George Wendt. That's true roleplaying.
  4. Troika never would have released 6 patches.
  5. Yes, pong is truly a miracle to all of mankind.
  6. Fable is an XBox exclusive, and I've heard nothing of possible ports for the game. Now, Halo 2 will eventually hit the PC.
  7. The game lets you run around naked, and people comment on your nakedness. That's true roleplaying!
  8. Don't incorrige me. I'm an incorrigable punster.
  9. I am convinced that Baneblade is the antithesis of good taste.
  10. Let me put on my hip waders. It's getting a little STEEP in here.
  11. Most MMORPGs allow a free client download these days, save for the big, new ones. And even City of Heroes has run a variety of promotions to get free clients.
  12. We're not discussing the merits of roleplaying options. The discussion was whether or not the magic system was good or not. Someone said you could do like 4 things in Morrowind's magic system. I am pointing out how untrue that is.
  13. We fling Volourn at them and run?
  14. Yeah. I forgot duration factors. We may be in the billions of possible spells. Multiple affect spells got really expensive. Powerful spells with a strong static effect could be expensive. I'm level 12, and I'm not even a dedicated mage. I'm playing a custom class I simply call "Avatar" based off the Avatar from the Ultima series. I'm playing all three guilds at once, and trying to master stealth, combat and magic all at once. So far, I'm doing a pretty decent job of it. I'm not roleplaying with an Avatar's virtues however, since I'm in the Thieve's Guild. But I don't murder anyone, and I try to be a good guy. They leave far too many valuable items out where I can steal them.
  15. That's what the game Nation States is for. It's fun, and free.
  16. Magic is incredibly useful in Morrowind. These are just some of the spell effects I've come across. You could: Drain attributes (7) Drain health, magicka, fatigue Drain skill (27) Resist all of the above Restore all of the above Fortifty all of the above Damage all of the above Fire/Frost/Shock/Poison damage Calm Humanoid/Creature Command Humanoid/Creature Levitate Chameleon Invisibility Fly Telekinesis Mark Recall Open Lock Summon Creature Summon Bound (Sword, Shield, etc.) Sanctuary Paralyze Water Walking Water Breathing Cure Common Disease Cure Blight Disease Cure Paralysis Cure Poison Light Frost/Fire/Shock/Poison Shield Almvisi's Intervention Divine Intervention That's about 222 different base effects just off my memory, and I'm not even that far into the game. Multiply that by 3 (yourself, touch, ranged), and then 5 (different casting triggers). Multiply that by the 10,000 different possibilities of power. That's 33,300,000 spell effects you can create. Did I mention that when creating a spell, potion, or magic item that you can mix spell effects? I don't know the max, but I've seen items with three effects. Take 33 million to the 5th power and see how many custom spells or items you can make with the magic system. Now compare that to a D&D magic system with something like 400 spells.

  18. The average score for this game is 85%. That's not a great review. I haven't seen Fable win a single RPG of the Year award. And plenty of people called the game largely disappointing. In a holiday season where Halo 2, Half Life 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, KOTOR:2, the Nintendo DS, etc. etc. were release, no one is talking about Fable. In no way was it revolutionary, let alone a good RPG.
  19. Yes. I like fruit juice. But it's expensive and I drink a lot during the day. I can go through a 12 pack a day. Soda = $2.50 A gallon of fruit juice can be $8.00 if you buy those quarts for $2.00 a pop.
  20. Soda is far from good for you. However, I still really dig Vanilla Coke.
  21. You can have a travel option that takes you to the new lands for the expansion.
  22. I was thinking that Morrowind's learn by doing system could work. However, I'd merge it with an experience/level up system. As it is, Morrowind keeps track of how much you successfully use each skill. Those successes automatically improve skills. When you level up (from 10 class skills being improved) you have the ability to improve your attributes based upon which skills improved, and how many of them. This system is abuseable by spamming skills. I propose a system where you level up due to experience points. However, the game still tracks skill usage. When you level up, attribute and skill points are distributed according to usage. However, instead of a variable scale like Morrowind's that rewards jumping for 2 hours to get more attribute points, you always give a flat number of points for skills or attributes per level up. Where they get distributed is based upon your use. So spamming the jump button to level up will only increase your athletics. Futhermore, you won't level up unless you get experience.
  23. I love most of the games the Obsidian crew has produced.
  24. I'm confused. Fallout is better in real life? I thought Fallout meant the world was ending.
  25. You get to have sex in GTA:SA. Can you do that in Diablo?
