  1. Oddly enough, with the OGL, WotC lets White Wolf take a crack at D20. Engel, a German D20 game is quite good, despite my disdain for D20. The concept is great, and the artwork is incredible. White Wolf has translated the game to English for us English speakers. White Wolf also did GammaWorld D20, Ravenloft, and their own entire line of Sword and Sorcery, including all of Monte Cook's books. If I were convinced to playing 3E, I'd want to go with Arcana Unearthed, which is basically an alternative or supplemental player's guide with alternate magic systems, new classes, new races, new feats, etc. It's really good. Rituals and Relics also presents some neat alternate magic rules. Basically, WotC is allowing someone else to show them up at their own game.
  2. I'd be down with tarten.
  3. I thought WotC was pure evil. I really want to hate them, as they are owned by Hasbro, and they put stupid restrictions on D&D CRPGs. However, the Open Gaming License is a double-edged sword that I'm not sure I have a problem with. Furthermore, when everyone accused WotC of being evil money-grabbers with the 3.5 upgrade, they not only released the new material for free, but the entire core rules are in the public domain. Releasing your three core books for free is pretty nifty.
  4. The Arena in Fable is even longer. Each level of the Arena is about as long, if not a bit longer than the final level of the Jade Empire Arena.
  5. I express my individuality by urinating in the frozen food section and watching the steam rise. Ironically enough, I am now demonstrating my lack of individuality by ripping that line from Kevin Smith.
  6. I was watching my wife play DS, and she convinced a guy that he should commit suicide.
  7. It didn't take long for the Exile to have Force powers. I imagine in KOTOR:3 you'll get Force Powers and a lightsaber early on.
  8. I found the Arena quite easy, though I preferred the Arena in Fable.
  9. While I want to become fluent in another language, it would probably be Spanish (the 2nd most common language in the US and I've already spent 5 years on it) or Japanese.
  10. I'm hoping that Fable 2 and Jade Empire 2 will both deliver on the promise of the original games.
  11. I was also proud that I took down the Rancor with pure combat. I snuck up close in solo mode with Misson and laid down a bunch of mines. Then I shot at him with Revan to get his attention. As he ran towards me, I ran back into the hallway where he couldn't get to me, and allowed the mines to do the bulk of the work. After a while, he returned to the far side of the room, and then some blaster fire finished him off. I think it was more rewarding that using the pheromones to kill him. I was a bit disappointed they wouldn't let me try to fight the Krayt Dragon.
  12. Also, instead of spending points in 15 different styles, I just mastered 4 or 5. I mastered Legendary Strike, Dire Flame, Paralyzing Palm, the sword, and the dual-sword. I didn't really use anything else.
  13. I suppose the Exile is a bit like Anakin in that he feels the need to take action and go to war rather than sit back idly.
  14. I was shocked that I got a DS point for intimidating someone to avoid combat, and avoid killing them.
  15. I cheated technically with Bendak. I'd fight one round of combat, and then save. If the round of combat went poorly, I'd reload. It was cheesy, but I defeated him at level 2.
  16. Overall game of the year, or RPG of the year?
  17. I almost didn't take my job because of a similiar circumstance. I interviewed and then saw the server room. The drop tile ceiling was completely ripped out, and cables were just hanging all over the place. We had $250,000 servers sitting on milk crates. It was bad. The main reason I took the job is that I predominately work at another property, and we're much more organized here.
  18. My first playthrough I went through as level 2 until I became a Jedi. the only tough part of the game was beating Bendak Starkiller at level 2.
  19. You can get a few DS/LS points and still get mastery.
  20. He was either directly recruited by Malak or Revan, though the cave suggests Malak moreso. It could be that the Exile was closer to Revan, but they wanted to save Revan for the final chamber of the cave.
  21. I bought my HDTV for under $400 brand new. It's widescreen, flat panel, and has multiple component inputs. It doesn't support 1080p, but very few TVs do.
  22. It depends if you are counting PC or Console. The XBox version was released in 2004, where as the PC version was released in 2005. And I really hope Twilight Princess is every bit as good as OoT, if not better. But I haven't played it yet.
  23. Higher resolutions with fewer jaggies, better models, full AA, better lighting, and the capability for models on the screen all at the same time. Watch the Killzone 2 trailer, and the Gears of War trailer. You'll see what I'm talking about. The Oblivion trailer is pretty nice as well. The PS3 can put out two seperate 1080p images if you have two high-end HDTVs. Who needs split screen?
  24. Unreleased games we know nothing about are Games of the Year? Majora's Mask looked really promising when we knew nothing about it, and it was fairly disappointing.
