  1. Honestly, I don't know how certain people enjoy playing KOTOR or KOTOR:2 10 times over again, but if they enjoy it, more power to them.
  2. Weiser still may not want to believe it, but M$ and Sony have released specifications for their systems. Nintendo has not. They have only said they can't compete with the power of the two big systems.
  3. Are you suggesting there are alternatives to Microsoft products?
  4. Again, I'm happy that people enjoy their games. I think they might enjoy their games more with a better system. And I'm not encouraging people to switch systems mid-chronicle. But next time, consider another system. You might really enjoy it.
  5. He may call it bull. Yet third-party developers are buying into it, and say they can release some incredible stuff now that they have hardware to support it. Should I believe your friend or people who actually work in the industry? Nintendo has just outright said they won't have near the power than the PS3 and 360 will have.
  6. Oddly enough, when I sent Handmaiden off to Nadd's tomb LS I ran into the same problem. They obviously intended for there to be new conversation there to represent the changes your student went through their first time on their own. But the conversation just isn't there. That's not a fault of the influence system so much as an unfinished game.
  7. Agreed. I'm not trying to pick on Weiser here. But if the devs were to read these comments (if Obsidian gets the rights to make KOTOR:3) I want this thread to represent both sides. If Weiser speaks up, and I don't, then the devs might assume we all want to see non-Jedi PCs in KOTOR:3. I think it will weaken the storyline. As a general rule, with a more specific character concept in mind, the easier it is for the dev team to write a plotline. The more variables in play, the harder it is to nail down the story.
  8. I was shocked that wasn't an option.
  9. They haven't released specs for the Revolution yet, but Nintendo said it will be about 2-3 times as powerful as the Gamecube. The PS3 in comparison will be 35-37 times as powerful as the PS2.
  10. Again McDonalds is the most popular burger chain on the planet. That does not mean they make good burgers. I always wonder why people don't eat a better burger elsewhere, but people seem content to eat there. D&D was an innovator, and I give them props for that. D&D is a very recognizable brand name. Most players I know that have played a variety of systems, prefer not to go back to D&D. If you really take the time to try and embrace other systems, I think you might enjoy them even more than you enjoy D&D. The hard part isn't leaving the old rules behind. It's leaving the settings behind.
  11. Perfect Dark is looking to push the graphical boundaries of the 360, and the Revolution just won't have the power for titles like that.
  12. The early marketing of the game suggested both Atris and Nihilus were going to be major players. Both had wasted potential.
  13. Yep, they couldn't have added SATA support with the Service Packs. That would make too much sense. I'm thinking of getting the full version of Windows x64 (I have the beta) and slipstreaming the SATA drivers, and all the latest 64-bit drivers I can find on the CD.
  14. You are a good man, Charlie Brown.
  15. I do believe they are one in the same.
  16. I have the lowly 3000+, though slightly overclocked and a 1 gig of dual channel PC3200. Too bad my power supply has been down for months and I'll too broke to replace it. So I have to use my craptop. I spent $800 on upgrades I can't use because my $65 power supply is junk.
  17. They have a full Dark Ages line now with Dark Ages Mage, Vampire, Werewolf, Fae, and Inquisition!
  18. True. Overall, I'm a little bored of talking about KOTOR:2. I wouldn't mind discussing NWN:2 production if there were forums here for it.
  19. I'm AMD for life however. I was real tempted to get a Pentium 4 for a while when the Pentium 4 line had a 800 mHz FSB, and the best AMD was putting out was the 333 mHz FSB. Then AMD released the Athlon 64 line and trounced Intel.
  20. Yes, thanks for the debate! Night!
  21. Are you suggesting people are more willing to purchase good games? Does EA know about this yet?
  22. I bought the 6600GT when I saw the benchmarks in Half Life 2, a game written around ATI performing better with the 6600GT line at the same price point. OpenGL games like Doom 3 performed WAY BETTER on the 6600GT. Better performance all around, a good price point, and better drivers. I had to switch.
  23. Then again, the DS has been on the market longer, and there have been shortages of PSP stock. I imagine once they are both on the market longer, the gap will shorten.
  24. I made the switch to NVidia because of ATI's poor drivers.
  25. The system does exist to an extent in the form of demos. You can sample the gameplay for free, and yet the software company doesn't have to worry about you pirating the full version of the game simply from a demo. I think the best way to combat piracy is to offer incentive to buy the full version, such as online play, or additional content for registered versions of the software.
