  1. What I don't understand is why Kreia felt the Exile could be the end of the Force and she put all her eggs in the Exile's basket, when Nihilus would seem the more obvious choice.
  2. Well, M$ isn't making a handheld just yet.
  3. I wanna see Force Harmony, Dark Side Web, and the like.
  4. Some have suggested the 360 will be able to connect to the PSP and DS wirelessly.
  5. I liked his approach though. Claiming to be the next incarnation of God was a good pick-up line. Man couldn't relate to God, and Jesus was the mediator, but he was perfect. Man still has trouble relating, so this time God appeared in the flesh, but in an imperfect form capable and willing to sin. Hence, David Koresh. Join my cult, and let me sleep with you, your sister and your daughter. You can't really say no, as I'm God. Either that or pass the red Kool-Aid.
  6. Rare may just be porting their N64 titles to the DS for all we know.
  7. Next we can go on to societal fate vs free agency. It's one of my favorite debates.
  8. I was a little disappointed with Telos and Dantooine. We settled a government contract dispute, but we didn't really face the real after-effects of a war ravaged society.
  9. I think he was objecting to Law and Order.
  10. I don't believe we have society for the purpose of entertainment. We have society to fix other basic needs. By living in close proximity of a city (or within a city) I have public utilities, shopping facilities, trash services, public schools, not to mention more social interaction. I believe culture is a result of society taking care of basic needs. The self-contained man would go nuts 9 times out of 10. Sure, one might write Walden, and have the book go on to fame well beyond its merit. But most can't stand sensory deprivation. We need new input. Looking at the same surroundings and doing the same things will lead most humans to delusional states as our body tries to cope with our lack of new information. The same can happen with a lack of social interaction. Thusly, for most us, the self-contained man complex doesn't work.
  11. I still feel it's better than the first game overall. Skills are more useful, dialogue is better, the game looks nicer, etc. etc.
  12. http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/07/07/news_6128695.html Apparently Rare, owned by Microsoft and part of Microsoft Gaming Studios is making games for the Nintendo DS.
  13. Hawaii 5-0 I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned.
  14. The new Storyteller system eliminated some dice rolls, but I generally move through combat the fastest with D6, and L5R, and then Storyteller running in at 3rd place. Exalted has more dice, and more powerful characters than the rest of the Storyteller system.
  15. There was over a page of spam before I got here. And I have talked about RTS games, even if briefly.
  16. I got violet crystals for almost all of my party lightsabers, and I was LS for life, dog.
  17. I played 2E for years, and let me tell you it is a completely broken system. No one plays by the normal rules. Everyone uses house rules for a reason. I can create completely broken rules and destroy a campaign pretty quickly if I wanted. One 2E rule that gets completely thrown by the wayside in every game I've seen is Racial Limits. Elves can live to be 200 no problem, and they get a natural +1 with swords, but they can't progress past 7th level as a Fighter? (Or whatever it is...) You don't want to switch and that's fine. Have fun playing whatever you play. I don't even play D&D if I can help it. But I think 3E was a big improvement on 2E. I also believe that the vast majority of D&D players have switched.
  18. Earth Dawn is very similiar to Shadowrun's system. Technically both Earth Dawn and Shadowrun are FASA games set on Earth at very different points in history, so they are sibling games. With the Storyteller system, I don't allow my players to start with super-powered characters, which cuts down on dice. Rolling a dice poll of say 7 or 8 dice at once isn't huge. I also increase the standard diff from 6 to 7, and players actually like the increased challenge in the game.
  19. Brilliant minds think alike.
  20. I love something positive.
  21. The had to keep the game as close to 2E or guys like you wouldn't consider switching. At the same time they introduced Weapon Finesse, allowing people to use Dex to-hit. Or make a house rule and use Dex to-hit.
  22. It's a tough call.
  23. It's the first strip in a webcomic called Something Positive. Yes, it is that vulgar and crass every single day. I love it.
