  1. Because, maybe, hopefully, unlike Buggyware, Obsidian has an actual Quality Assurance staff. I hope. I pray.....
  2. Great. I hope he has a terrible-twos personality like R2.
  3. Oh, it's a spoiler thing? If so you could just say yes or no maybe?
  4. I was kinda annoyed to hear that of all the characters, they brought back T3, arguably not a character at all, and the most useless party member in the game, (yeah yeah, he has a high computer skill, big whoop). Anyway, I was wondering if he's any better or more interesting in TSL, maybe communicating more than beep and boop?
  5. Well, my 9600 Pro, overclocked, really doesn't have that much of a problem with multiple lightsources, and I counted once and there weren't exactly a lot there. Most spots of Doom 3 run faster than that place.... As for complaining about it not running on various computers, that's kinda their job you know? It said on the box, works with such and such graphics cards, and so then they have to deliver. Now in our modern little future world of joy we have these things called standardized device drivers which take a lot of the possible incompatibility problems and throw them out the window. It should be not such a big deal to have one's game work on most hardware. There are always little glitches here and there, sometimes such and such brand has a little problem or whatnot, but really, this is the only game I've seen that has such horrible issues with one type of hardware, and it is completely and totally unacceptable.
  6. Ok Hades, your other statements were sometimes a bit odd, sometimes interesting, but this marks you clearly as a madman.
  7. Entanglement wouldn't do it. It could be used for transporter type stuff, maybe, (big big maybe), but you'd have to actually send the entangled things apart first, so it would take your thousands of years before you could travel instantly anyway.
  8. One of the worst spots for slowdown Taris for my pc, specifically the cantinas with the colored lights. Why a couple, (not even a lot), of lightsources in such simple geometry causes the game such problems I'll never know.
  9. The lightsaber being a weightless cutty thing doesn't rely on actually physically forcing flesh apart, so therefore the damage should only be determined by the range of motion within the enemy being diced up.
  10. Just remember: whatever it is, Lucas Arts doesn't give a s***.
  11. Hmmm, I thought battlefront was just crap to begin with, and that it barely ran on the console versions, and none of them actually had the AI soldiers doing very much. I actually like the vhs/dvd analogy, because consoles are far less sophisticated and the pc surpassed them by the second generation. They're sorta like the little monkey in the suit trying to be an astronaut.....
  12. Yeah. A functional engine that works on ATI cards and doesn't have serious memory leaks always helps
  13. Hey there, Jedi Knight 2 was good, and the levels in JK1 were good at the time. JA sucks, but that's a different story.
  14. Play with Mr. Big Dog's what? Well, while you dogs have been playing and mauling small animals, we humans invented civilization, something you seem somewhat unacquainted with. It'll take some time to master, but when you learn the proper place for excrement, not to sit on the couch, and are thoroughly domesticated, I promise you will garner many a doggie-biscuit. Oh, and boy is spelled with a "y". Still, good spelling for a dog.
  15. Yeah, the lack of control reduces the force effective force, even if the muscles are as strong. Wouldn't matter since a lightsaber should have no resistance, but then there aren't one-hit kills and they don't go right though people but act more like baseball bats than swords even, so whatever.
  16. Don't know, but the Jedi Knight series did it quite well. Viva Quake 3 Engine!
  17. You do realize that 4.5/5 = 9/10 and 9.2 are both lower than ign's 9.3, right?
  18. Don't compare it to Halo. Halo is an aberration. It's not that good. The MP is ok, and it is "revolutionary" because there isn't anything else decent of that type for the consoles. It's like if you went to McDonalds and got a moderately decent piece of prime-rib you'd be impressed, even if the prime-rib wasn't that good. With Halo it's further accentuated because more xboxers are young and haven't seen this kind of thing, or the many far superior games, on the pc.
  19. In the review are we seeing framerate issues, the fights towards the end, or is it just lag in my connection?
  20. Seriously, if there hadn't been technical problems to call it into question in the first place, I doubt there would be such an emphasis on the graphics. When they say that I think they mean there is little justification for the framerates and other issues it has.
  21. Ok, if we must salvage something how about say that since the clans dispersed, as Canderous said, there was no universally recognized Mandalore since the central authority seems to have disolved?
  22. Oh come on. 8.5 = Great. Sequels always get lower scores unless they break no ground. Hell, even Half Life 2 reviews have lots of qualifications with their scores about it playing the same. It's not a bad score. The technical things sound worse from what they say, especially with the frame rates. It seems to me that the graphics criticism wouldn't have come into play so much if there hadn't been more technical issues and lower framerates. Just watch the video review and you'll see it. The other thing to take away from this is that the new features are not as noticeable as they claimed they would be. The ranged weapons sound not to be more powerful, as was claimed, and the deeper party interactions don't seem to be noticed terribly much unless looking for them. As they say though, if you liked KotOR, you'll like this, so stop whining because it's not everyone in the universes' favorite game. It's enough that it'll be good and fun for us. I completely agree about Halo though. Tried the pc demo, and the armor thingy is kinda fun, but it's otherwise a terribly mediocre shooter and would have been in the bargain bin in 2 months if it hadn't been the only non-terrible console shooter. *Edit: Note to devs* This is why consoles are bad. You can't do much. You have to use all your cpu time to make it look as good as something else and it's much more limited, as are interface options, and game complexity. Stop making games for both. It's almost impossible to make a sophisticated game for a console, and the pc then gets a bunch of silly console baggage. There's a reason fighting games are on consoles: they're built for repetitive button-mashing.
  23. Really?? If so then it's bioware being dumb, not obsidian
  24. Darth Lucas has been subdued by Darth Frito-Lay methinks
