  1. There is one thing I need confirmed - are these sample watercolor portraits just sketches, lacking the full detail, or are they real exmples of what watercolor portraits will look like in the game?
  2. https://www.fig.co/campaigns/deadfire?update=247#forum
  3. There is an inherent problem with combat pacing that I've tried to describe multiple times, asked Josh on tumblr about it, and I've seen him acknowledge it. Basically, recovery times during combat can range from around 2-3 seconds to about half a second. Casting times can often reach 6-7 seconds. With recovery times being so fine-grained, the player has to permanently keep his finger on the spacebar, because pausing just one tenth of a second later may be too late, which can be both confusing an annoying. This wasn't such a bother in the IE games, because the recovery system was much more simple, and recovery was either 2-3 seconds (I believe every character was on an individual round, with a small random modification), or half that (when under Haste effect) or twice that (when under Slowed effect).
  4. I think it all depends how how it's balanced - how much more powerful the spells/abilities will be exactly, when modified? What I certainly dislike is the moving away from the IE games in one more important aspect. On the whole, I'm skeptical about this change.
  5. I am of the opposite opinion. I always play with the option for auto-switching to slow mode during combat, and I still pause a lot. I only play PotD after an initial incomplete run on Hard. Josh had mentioned PoE's "slow" becoming the "normal" in previous interviews and I was very happy when I heard this.
  6. Ammunition for ranged weapons. Weight carry capacity on per-party member basis. The ability to add map notes when in the area map. The ability to split the party between non-party-required areas (there was a technical limitation to that) with some party members being in one area and others continuing alone in another. Even better if certain quests require that. Separating stealth from trap-detecting mode. Ability to give names to owned mundane items once they reach a certain level of enchantment. Not really a feature request, but I would like more information on the history and interstate politics. Setting the game in a pseudo-Renaissance provokes association with the Machiavellian politics of that period, I hope this theme gets more developed in PoE II
  7. The one and only (number /1): IEModEdit: ok, and this one: Wooden HUD Textures Lol wood textures. I may go butcher that one just to get my UI without all the other IE mod stuff. No wait it is just a texture trying to piggy back IE mod. Life sucks. Now that I am playing eternity again, and now 4k, maybe I should try to fix it so 4k works.... as I recall Eternity won't let you do over 1080 textures though... no...not again.... STAHPPPPP If you can tell me how to run with my textures without the IE mod, I'll gladly change the mod.

  9. Please, no. Micromanagement sucks. OK, I guess. Gotta think what you carry. Totally. This helps a lot. Sure, whatever. What? Why? No no no no. PoE1 had it right, imo.
  10. Some of you may remember a thread titled "My Ultra-Conservative/Reactionary Wishlist for the Expansion". Continuing the list below: Ammunition for ranged weapons. Setting the game in a pseudo-Renaissance provokes association with the Machiavellian politics of that period, I hope this theme gets more developed in PoE II Please let durations/recovery times be based on a more human-readable scale, that easier for mental math. Either a full second or X.5 seconds. Please no more of that "7.3 s", "0.9 s". Ability to mod in item description images.
  11. On second thought - what's not to love about romances:
  12. Increase graphics quality when taking such screenshots! :D
  13. So... who's responsible for game mechanics, attributes tuning plus class and encounter balance? This is best answered by someone of the team.
  14. Even if currents or volcanic activity keep it warm, the tropical vegetation still doesn't quite fit, at least at first glance, and from what I know of the world map (which is not much).
  15. Josh addresses that, I think in the third part of the PoE stream (beginning of january, twitch/youtube)
  16. If they had planned any such functionality (open world, pirate, "living the life"), they would have certainly boasted about it in the announcement video. I am pretty sure however that this theme will be touched on in the form of quests. There will be one whole pirate faction, with which you'll be able to interact.
  17. I've seen people requesting this, and I thought I'd try to see what's the general opinion.
  18. GOG version. Installed patches 3.03, 3.04, 3.05 for vanilla normally. Then, upon meeting the pink rectangles ingame, I exit the game and install the White March II versions of patches 3.03, 3.04, 3.05 - falsely presuming that they will feature cumulatively the updates for WM1 -- after all, you can't play WM2 if you don't have WM2. Result -- still seeing pink rectangles in place of WM1 weapons. I attempt to install 3.03 patch for WM1 -- I get a patch_log.txt as follows: Conclusion - Steam sucks because they keep your game on their server. GOG sucks because they can't write a competent installer/updater.
  19. I finally managed to reinstall PoE and the expansions. I don't know if GOG fixed something or it was due to some other unknown factor.
