  1. Seriously, those BioWare "You've been chosen" trailers are annoying. At some point, hint at what the friggin game is, will you? These trailers aren't making me intrigued. I'm close to blocking all emails received from BioWare instead.
  2. Finished the Gears of War 3 campaign. Nothing Earth shattering, but a reminder to BioWare that you can have heartbreaking moments (so to speak) without completely jumping the shark like ME3 did.
  3. Wait is that perhaps horror? From Bioware? The horror of it all. Two sites apparently linked to the game: http://www.seekinghenna.com/ http://www.woods-watsoninstitute.info/ Oh god, what if the university is the setting of the game....... A bioware game set at a university. I don't know if BioWare can pull off horror properly. If that is, indeed, what it's going to be. Though it would be interesting to see how they manage to implement gay romances seamlessly into a survival horror RPG.
  4. Gears of War 3 still. I'm actually surprised at how much fun I'm having with this series. When they first came out, I just didn't understand the hype. Maybe it's because there were more RPGs out at the time and that was my go-to genre, whereas now there's literally nothing for me to play RPG-wise, so GoW is interesting me as a time killer.
  5. Kind of late in the game to be pushing a release date back, no?
  6. I kind of miss Risen 2's pirate them.
  7. Finally getting around to playing Gears of War 3. So far, it's pretty good. Only in the first chapter, though.
  8. In the middle of reading some Gears of Wars novels by Karen Traviss. Her writing is annoying as hell. She inserts her pet characters into the universe and can't help but make them such central characters, as if every other character is in awe of them. She also is terrible at having every character act and use "British" terms, even when they're established as clearly not speaking British in the games. I should have known better after her Star Wars stuff, where her hatred for the Jedi showed up in her work, and her Mando love was excruciatingly nauseous.
  9. Actually playing some horde mode in Gears of War. Similar to Mass Effect 3's MP. Although, strangely enough, I preferred the ME3 MP. Maybe I'm just a sucker for leveling up and unlocking characters.
  10. What a horrible summer when it comes to new games coming out that I'm looking forward to. It seems like forever since I actually was looking forward to a game coming out.
  11. I played my first game of Gears of War MP today, Survival mode. I can't believe there's still people playing this game. I figured I was the only one late to the party.
  12. Is this really a character in Inquisition? He better have a Spanish accent and offer a rose to every female character he comes across.
  13. Finished Gears of War: Judgment. Short, short main story. But at least I understand what the heck was going on this time.
  14. As many times as I've played AP, I've never gone with a martial arts build. I guess I wuss out whenever I think of the boss fights and think about having to take them on with hands and feet.
  15. A lot of these games, you basically have to play the online component of the game if you want full value out of them. Otherwise, the single player stories are incredibly short. I'm almost done the single player campaign of Gears of Wars: Judgment. It feels like just a day ago I started. One of the reasons I think I gravitate so much toward RPGs. The single player portion is always a good chunk of the experience.
  16. Gears of War: Judgment seems to get a harsh rap compared to the other three, but IMO, it's actually pretty fun. And the story is a lot easier to follow -- probably because of the flashback nature followed up by running commentary about what's about to happen.
  17. Good thing I don't play a lot of games online. My XBox 360 wireless adapter doesn't seem to get along well with my wireless router. Lately, it will connect for a couple of minutes (if I can manage to get it to connect at all) before disconnecting me from XBox Live. I'm not sure if it's an issue with my router, or if my XBox 360 adapter is going on the blitz.
  18. There weren't many new announcements. What I was interested in before E3, I am still interested in. That's kind of where I'm at after E3. The stuff I was interested in prior, I'm still interested in, but I didn't really see anything revealed at E3 that caught my attention.
  19. I actually enjoyed The Bureau quite a bit. Maybe it was because I played it BEFORE XCOM: Enemy Unknown and had no expectations for what it was supposed to be like. But it's certainly a game I enjoyed playing through (even did a second play through). I'm thinking I'm going to have the same problem I had with X:EU, always taking my best guys so when one is injured or dies I'm stuck with a rookie. Take your best guys for the main story missions, level up your other guys during the side quests. Also, there are missions you can send them on (without you going) where they earn XP. Just send your newbies on those.

  21. You know what else developers need to cut the crap out? Unskippable credits at the end. I had to sit through over 20 minutes of credits for Watch Dogs just to get to the point I could access the main menu after I finished the game. MAKE THE DAMN THINGS SKIPPABLE!
  22. So now that E3 is done, what's the consensus? Excited about what you saw or underwhelmed with what was shown?
  23. England's out already? Geez, that's what I get for cheering for a team I know nothing about.
  24. Overall, it's a good game with a lot of interesting stuff and concepts. I don't regret my purchase. It just has some things that make you wonder why they decided to go that route. The police car chases (IMO) are one of the bigger flaws in the design of the game.
  25. Whoever designed the police chases in Watch Dogs should never design police chases ever again. Biggest annoyance/frustration in the entire game.
