Since I've got nothing else on the go, I broke down and picked up the new Metal Gear game. The short one that's supposed to be some sort of prologue to the game coming out next year.

If I may make one suggestion Mr Emperor, when near the end of chapter one you have to make a binary choice, choose the Elf first time. Far more enjoyable path, though of course it's up to you. It's been a while since I last played so I might be getting them mixed up, but if I recall the elf path takes on a more "personal journey" tone whereas the ... crap what's his name ... soldier guy path takes on a more "political story" tone.

Daisy Ridley ... only new female cast member announced. If they go with any sort of "children of the Big Three" angle, I'm assuming she's going to be the daughter of Han and Leia.

On the whole, I thought the writing/dialogue was top notch in the entire game. Really captured the feel of South Park.

Are you referring to the island that you have to cross water to reach? Or are you referring to the big mass of trees above Winnipeg?

It seems BioWare has to balance out the attractiveness of Leliana and Morrigan so their combined score never surpasses 10. So by making Leliana more attractive, they need to make Morrigan uglier by the same degree. Because the Morrigan I had in my party in DA:O certainly didn't look like Phyllis Diller.

I'm playing absolutely nothing at the moment. This has to be the worst year ever when it comes to new games I'm interested in. It's been forever since I actually bought a new game because none of the ones being released appeal to me. I've spent the past few months replaying my game library because nothing new looks interesting.

I hope so. I was a fan of what they did with Dungeon Siege III.

Finished an old replay of Fallout 3, then went on to finish a replay of Fallout New Vegas.

That seems to be the common theme in reviews, how it captures the feeling perfectly like you're participating in an actual episode of the show.

Playing through Fallout 3 with maxed out speech is kind of boring. For a lot of encounters, I pretty much just talk them into doing whatever it is I want. Bad guy: "I'm going to kill you! There's nothing you can say to convince me otherwise because I'm psychotic and don't listen to reason" Me: [speech 100%] "Whatever you say." Bad guy: [speech success] "Okay, sounds reasonable. Here's my caps. See ya."

New Vegas' companions are so much more interesting than the pack mules you're stuck with in FO3.

I currently have that ghoul guy. He dies quite easily, despite me outfitting him in power armor.

Dumb companion AI frustrates me so much. My companions in FO3 keep dying when I'm up against Deathclaws because a]they don't understand shooting from a distance and b]they don't use stimpaks even though they've got them in their inventory and even though their health is going down. It's sad when I have an easier time against a pack of Deathclaws by myself than when I have a companion since I have to worry about babysitting the idiot from being killed.

I'd forgotten how annoying these abandoned subway tunnels are in Fallout 3. Especially when you're forced to navigate them in order to find a spot on the map that looks like it should be reachable without using them.

Fallout 3 sucks for companions. The only companions available early on to me is Jericho, and because I'm playing a goody two shoes with a positive karma, he won't tag along with me. I need my pack mule, damn it.

Playing through the Operation Alaska DLC for Fallout 3. I don't recall finishing this one the first time I played FO3. Bethesda's attempt at CoD?

Actually decided to go back and replay Fallout 3. I forgot how bland and boring it was.

Yeah, more than 1 1/2 years after they started working on it and he goes to do another online game. Man, he sure must have had problems with it. Your theory just makes so much sense..... And great idea to make a jab at another game in a thread about someones departure. Not to mention said jab would also have appeared if Obsidian made a MOBA instead of Armored Warfare. It's a joke because of the timing of his departure is around the time of the announcement of the game. Lighten up. I doubt Joseph or anyone at Obsidian took offense to the comment. So I'm not sure why you are.

Varric was an overall cooler character, but Oghren was a funnier character. Especially if you brought him along in your party. He had some of the funnier (cruder) party banter lines.

I was tempted to get that, but the reviews mentioning how short it was kind of turned me off. Especially because it's likely that whenever the "full" game comes out of Metal Gear Solid 5, I bet this gets added as DLC or part of the "Game of the Year" edition.

The co-op required missions also bothered me because I have no one on my friends list who plays the game to do those missions with. So I still have no clue what they're about.
