  1. It's kind of awkward that the hottest female on your crew (the only female) is your sister.
  2. Finished the game. That sword I mentioned remained the most powerful throughout the rest of the game. A bit disappointing that a sword I bought somewhere in late Chapter 2/early Chapter 3 does the most damage (unless I never found any secret uber powerful ones). The final battle gave me mixed feelings. On one hand, at least the difficulty got upped compared to the rest of the game. On the other hand, it was due to the "swarm" strategy games use by throwing a bunch of enemies at you at once rather than simply make the boss really tough. 1 versus 1, I didn't have a problem with the final boss. It just became an issue when he had 3 or 4 henchmen attacking me at the same time. Overall, I enjoyed the game. I'm going to try another play through as a different specialty class. There were also a couple of quests I missed the first time. I'm not sure if I just missed them outright, or whether they're class-specific quests and weren't available to me as a Voodoo Pirate.
  3. That Ore Titan was not fun.
  4. I'm a bit disappointed in the special weapons you find throughout the game. I found some blade of Mara, but its damage properties were well below my current sword, which is just an upgraded version of a sword you can buy from merchants. Mara's sword is something like damage 35-65, whereas my current sword is 40-105.
  5. I found my missing companion. Apparently he joined one of the guilds and was hanging out with them. But I don't remember getting any notice of this. He just kind of vanished on me.
  6. In Chapter 3 in Risen 3. It seems everything's coming to a head and I'm just finishing off all quests now. Not really stumbling upon any new ones.
  7. I think I ran into my first bug/glitch. One of my companions has disappeared. He's not on the ship and I can't locate him on the last island he was accompanying me on.
  8. Just started Chapter 3. I should have waited a bit longer before deciding to become a Voodoo Pirate.
  9. Minor annoyance. When challenged to a duel and you have spectators watching you and the other guy duel, not being able to select a target gets frustrating when you go to attack your opponent only to then accidentally hit one of the spectators, who then draws his sword and the entire area turns into me versus all of them.
  10. As somewhat of a perfectionist, I'm not a fan of the lack of edit ability without it showing up as an edit, because I like to re-read what I'd just posted one more time to see if I made any spelling/grammar errors. The anal part of me doesn't like seeing a bunch of "edited 2 times" below the post all because I accidentally used a wrong word and went back to fix it immediately after posting.
  11. Still wandering through the jungles of Kila in Risen 3.
  12. Yeah, that's me not interested anymore. I don't want to play any game where I'm forced to play with another player. That sounds absolutely boring. And like you, I'd rather not be forced to play with other players.
  13. I don't know if it's a glitch or designed this way or what, but my mage companion sucks in combat because he never actually uses magic. The dude spends all his time when he's on my boat practicing shooting magic stuff out of his hands, but when I take him along with me he just uses his sword in combat. What's the point of a mage companion if he's not even going to use magic?
  14. A little surprised this game is getting so little discussion. RPG forum, RPG fans (for the most part), RPG game.
  15. I ran into my first big cross over quest, where one quest carried over from one island to the other. Damn voodoo thief!
  16. Having fun with Risen 3. It feels a lot like Risen 2 so far, which for me isn't a bad thing since I enjoyed that game. Probably because the islands I've visited so far were either from the previous game, or involves tribes like the previous game.
  17. I just had a quest cancellation because I left one island to go to another. The quest itself didn't seem time sensitive nor did me leaving the island seem to (from a logical point of view) change how it was going. So I re-loaded a previous save, and now it appears I'm stuck on the island until I finish this quest. It's a pretty big one, too, so skipping it seems kind of pointless.
  18. That's one of the more frustrating things with combat, particularly when there's multiple opponents near you. It's difficult to aim your attack at one and not worry about whether you'll end up attacking another. The AI companion doesn't seem to do much but attack. I haven't noticed them dodging out of the way, so they basically trade blows with the enemy. And they take their sweet time swinging their sword, too. For every one hit they land on the enemy, I'll land 3 or 4.
  19. Very early on, but it does remind me a lot of Risen 2. Especially the combat. I'm a little lost with the story so far because I can't remember much more than the basics of what happened in Risen 2.
  20. I ordered it from Best Buy. I'm too lazy to go to the store to pick it up, so I will have to wait a couple of days to get it delivered to my door.
  21. I'm going to miss playing as a pirate.
  22. Why couldn't he have announced his departure before ME3 was completed? Thanks for making a career move AFTER the starchild, Casey. Is his name in some way attached to the new ME project? Otherwise I believe that he was gently let go and just kept long enough to assist the new project manager in the transition. I mean, I doubt someone would leave a lead position on a major studio without a good reason. As far as I know from all mentions of the new ME game, Hudson had the exact same role he had for the previous trilogy.

  24. I was tempted to pick up Sacred 3. I might just wait for Risen 3 this coming Tuesday instead. I haven't played anything since finishing the Gears of War trilogy a week or so ago. Really crappy summer for me in terms of new games for me to try.
