  1. This new Call of Duty Advanced Warfare gives off a very Mass Effect-like vibe. Hopefully the ending doesn't make me want to kick kittens, though.
  2. Maybe I'll pick up Wasteland 2 then. In the meantime, I decided to play the single player campaign for the newest Call of Duty. So far, it's pretty decent. I'm not a big first person shooter fan, so I'm playing on the wussy difficulty. I'm still having trouble aiming with precision. I'm the worst spray-n-pray gamer ever. On the bright side, Kevin Spacey is my boss.
  3. If my PC can run Pillars of Eternity, can it also run Wasteland 2?
  4. I'm intrigued by the idea of playing as some sort of explorer who lands on an unknown world and has to explore it to see what's there before they decide whether it's a planet capable of sustaining a new colony. How much that actually ends up playing into the story will determine how much I end up enjoying it. If it's ultimately simplistic in that you arrive, clear out some bugs you encounter, and declare the planet safe, that will ruin the appeal.
  5. I don't know which game I want to replay right now. I'm putting off another run through of The Witcher 3 until the expansion is out in October, so that narrows it down to either another run through of the Mass Effect trilogy, another play through of Skyrim, or another play through of one of Obsidian's games I haven't played in a while (DS3, FONV).
  6. I don't have a link, but everything I've read says both expansions can be accessed during the main story. Maybe that will change when they're released, though. But as of now, it seems they're both set during the events of TW3's story, not after.
  7. The Remnant sound awfully like the Protheans. Honestly, if that's even close to accurate, I actually like the premise. Now lets see if they can nail the execution.
  8. They're going to have to edit existing dialogue to reflect whether the player has finished the expansion or not before that quest with the medical doctor. It'll be weird if Geralt's already met Shani, then asks the doctor if he knows her whereabouts.
  9. That would be a welcome addition, then. I could do without Geralt looking drunk trying to maneuver up a ladder and scaffold by running around and jerking to stops while continuing to miss spot I'm directing him to.
  10. Couple of DLCs? Isn't Jaws of Hakkon the only DLC they've released for the SP portion of Dragon Age Inquisition thus far?
  11. Not every game can be as mature as Skyrim's approach to marriage, where all you need is a necklace to wear around your neck that says "I'm on the market"!
  12. That player stash could be good. I've found, especially when I've crafted all the different witcher school gear, that my inventory is near its capacity. At least this way I don't have to sell the witcher gear I'm not currently wearing/using, and can instead store it for later use and free up some inventory space. It will be interesting to see what that "movement response mode" will be like. I'm guessing it has to do with Geralt's character model movements during walking/running/fighting scenes?
  13. I just hope they don't come up with something lame like a clone of Shepard as the PC. "It's not Shepard! The PC's name is Bishop! He's completely different (even though he's exactly the same, including Mark Meer/Jennifer Hale as the voice actor)."
  14. Finished my second time through for Resident Evil Revelations 2. This time I got the "good" ending. I still have the side mission with Natalia to do. Not sure I'm going to, though. I'm not a big fan of stealth in RE. I think it's going to be more frustration than fun for me. There's also the various game modes, like timed or invisibility mode. Again, I'm not sure I'll play either. I don't like having a timer ticking down because it makes me feel like I can't explore and find all the hidden stuff. If I don't play those modes, I'm going to have to figure out what game to move on to. Maybe pick up Batman Arkham Knight. I'd rather keep that for August though, so I'll have something to play to tide me over until the new games start trickling out in September and beyond.
  15. Yes, I did. And you're taking what I said out of context. I said the sidequests were boring as hell, thus dragging down an otherwise solid main quest, especially when trying to attempt a second play through. If you stuck to the main story, DAI is quite fun. But it gets bogged down by crappy sidequests if you attempt to play every quest you get, instead of just sticking to the main story. Also, I'm not entirely sure what your point is. I was commenting on you saying that people need to buy a game before they can decide if it might interest them. I was pointing out that there are ways to see if a game might appeal to you before buying. In my case, I liked the previous games, so I didn't need to do some "pre-scouting" because I was already going to purchase it. The scenario we were discussing was about someone who did NOT like a previous installment, and thus had concerns about the newest version. If someone was burned by a previous game in the series, there are ways for them to see whether the new game will appeal to them or whether it will be the same old, same old, without having to buy it first.
  16. Got the "other" ending in Resident Evil Revelations 2. Actually, I did the sequence that will lead to getting the other ending. I just have to finish off the final chapter/episode for each character now to get there.
  17. There's almost next to nothing known about the new Mass Effect at this point. So it's difficult to be able to tell which boxes of yours it will tick or not. Your question would be better off being asked in about 6 months to a year when there's actual information about the game.
  18. That's what the internet is for. If I'm curious about a game, but don't want to spend (waste) money on it before I know what it's like, I read reviews, visit chat forums to see the general consensus, etc. For instance, I didn't like the side quests in Dragon Age Inquisition. Found them boring as all hell, and frankly, apart from the main quest, the game is a bit of a slog to get through if you try to be a completionist. So when the next DA comes out, I'll read reviews, read previews, read forums' opinions to see what changes they made, and whether those changes would be enough for me to go from being "meh" about the series to "hmm, that actually sounds good".
  19. Likely because even though they share the same name, characters, and lore, the actual games are quite different. The open world itself makes it feel like almost a different game than TW2, simply because you're not constricted to a "narrow path" you need to follow. Perhaps people enjoyed the freedom of being able to go anywhere they wanted at whatever level they were at, instead of being stuck in a certain region until they cleared the main quest of that region. The combat, IMO, is also more fun in TW3. And not to harp on this aspect, but the sidequests were a lot more involved in TW3 than in TW2. Again, all IMO. For comparison's sake, it's sort of like how some people loved Resident Evil 4 even if they didn't like Resident Evil 3 and before. Why? Because even though they both shared the Resident Evil title, the actual game play or world was different and perhaps more appealing (or in some cases for the diehard RE fans, less appealing).
  20. How can anyone not want to play as a character named Aloy? I'm sold!
  21. I bought it because it was only $200 for a new system and two new games. *the trade-in promo is still active at GameStop, though the 'free game of choice with system purchase' from MS expired. The 500GB Halo bundle is $349, minus $150 for your old 120GB PS3 or 250GB Xbox 360. I'm always tempted to take advantage of these deals, but I'm too much of a hoarder. I can't make myself sell my old system "just in case". Though I'm not really even certain what that just in case would be.
  22. Trying to go through with a second play through of RE Revelations 2. Like I said earlier, it doesn't have the same appeal to me as Revelations 1 did, so I'm sort of slogging through rather than doing it because I absolutely must play again. Mainly, I'm just doing it for the achievements.
  23. Did he compare them ? Seems he reduced the plot in a same way, not a comparison. Nor did he claim they are high art. But oh well, usual dogs yapping. Why bring up a movie about the holocaust in connection with The Witcher at all, then? His argument seems to be that it is mature because it spits in the face of puritanical western values. Then he said my comprehension is not good enough to understand the game story, so maybe it also isn't good enough to understand his point. Well, Radovid was acting kind of Hitler-ish, after all.
  24. Never played the GameCube version. I played on the old ... was it the PS2? Or still the PS1? Whichever system it first came out on for the Playstation.
  25. Anyone played the remastered version of the original Resident Evil? I'm tempted to pick it up for the PS4, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to tolerate the control scheme (hated it in the original version -- one of the only aspects of the game I didn't like).
