  1. Maybe if you're a 15 year old nerd with no social skills. Most intelligent gamers (is there such a thing?) want more to their games than the ability to chop someone's head off, or to run around aimlessly attacking things just 'cause they can.
  2. You did miss something. The very first sentence of Drakon's post. "Yes or you think a sequel were you continue to play a character that is over 20 levels at start is worth playing? Their talking about KOTOR2 allowing for there to be a KOTOR3 with the same character from KOTOR2. ah, then i apologize. i figured he was on another one of his tirades about how KOTOR's level system is flawed.
  3. You never did explain how exactly having a small mention (a tiny dialogue with someone in a cantina) of the old party members would detract from Obsidian being able to focus on the story they want to tell.
  4. I apologize if I missed a post somewhere along the lines and am misreading your response, but...what the hell does continuing directly off the powerful character you had in the first game got to do with the article posted? You're arguing about how something is stupid, when in fact it's not even going to be in the game. I'm not sure why you're going on about characters starting the game as level 20 when that's not going to be the case. Oh and btw, Hades One is NOT right. He just whines about everything. Read all his posts. NONE of them have anything positive or constructive to say.
  5. I don't necessarily agree that it'd be that horrible to do. If they do it right, they can be vague enough so that it doesn't close the door for possible appearances in future games, while also satisfying gamers who are curious about what happened to their party from KOTOR1. Also, like the characters or not, they're part of the timeline and therefore warrant mention, considering they accomplished something big. In KOTOR there were offhanded mention of characters such as Exar Kun, Nomi Sunrider, etc. without actually having to make them a big part of the story. IMO, mentioning the whereabouts of the party members from KOTOR seems more logical for continuity issues. Especially considering you're using the Ebon Hawk again, plus T3. There's obviously links to the past, so an offhand mention of what happened to everyone shouldn't detract from Obsidian still being able to tell their own story.
  6. You've said that 1000 times already, troll boy.
  7. Interesting article. A few of the things mentioned get me excited about the release of this game even more.
  8. Indeed it would be. But probably far too difficult to implement properly.
  9. I'd like to know atleast what happened to my party. Something like a log aboard the Ebon Hawk with video footage showing Mission and Zaalbar (if they lived) being dropped off somewhere, like Kasshyyk. Or Carth saying his goodbyes as he heads for Telos (or wherever it was that he was supposed to meet up with Dustil). Canderous and HK-47 leaving with Revan to the Unknown Regions. That kind of thing. Unless, of course, Obsidian is leaving their whereabouts open for possibilities in the future (KOTOR3 perhaps?)
  10. You know what might actually be somewhat cool? If instead of the PC being able to do this, one of the NPC party members is able to join some kind of faction. Then, they split off from the main group, you control them during maybe a one or two step quest, then they rejoin your group or something.
  11. I wonder how in-depth the questions actually get, though. Will the questions just ask the big stuff, like a)Was Revan DS or LS b)Was Bastila killed or redeemed Or will it get a bit more in depth, asking about each former party member, and various NPC's?
  12. What the hell is the point of bringing back an old thread just to post "blah blah blah" in it?
  13. I really wish they went with the Wookiee idea instead of Ewoks. Other than that, from a movie goer point of view, it's "just another Death Star". But think about it from a tactical point of view. You have the most destructive weapon available, why not build another one? It'd be like George Bush losing his nukes, but instead of building more nukes, he says "bah, that's been done. let's build something less powerful, but totally inovative".
  14. I think Hades_One should take your advice as well.
  15. The hardest ones to trigger seem to be Juhani and Canderous. But as most people have stated, just talk to them as much as possible and eventually they'll be triggered. What I do is once I'm far enough along in each conversations, I take a minute or two to try and trigger their quests by entering and exiting the Ebon Hawk with different party members. During my current play through, I've only got one Star Map, but I've already triggered Carth, Mission, Zaalbar (his is automatic), Jolee, and Bastila's sidequests. I'm close to triggering Canderous and Juhani's also, because both have oppened up quite a bit. One small note: Someone mentioned they are on the Unknown World and haven't completed Juhani's quest. You won't be able to. Once you land on the Unknown World, I believe the game becomes completely linear and you can't go anywhere except (sorry for the spoiler) the Star Forge. All quests must be completed before traveling to the Unknown System.
  16. Take away the Pod racing, the Gungans, Jar-Jar Binks, and the rest of the movie isn't too bad
  17. Wasn't the original idea to have a trilogy of games, modelling after the movie trilogies? I interpreted KotOR as all three three Star Wars movies alltogether, it's been stated lately however, that KotOR II is to KotOR what ANH is to ESB. So does that mean we can look forward to Ewoks, or a similarly cheesey character in KOTOR3?
  18. Wasn't the original idea to have a trilogy of games, modelling after the movie trilogies?
  19. Yeah, when you first come up on Dantooine and are looking down on it from space, Carth and Bratstila are arguing about whether or not it will be a safe haven from the Sith from the time being. I'm the only one who's seen this? No, but even when I side with Carth to move on, it made us land on Dantooine.
  20. I agree with the original poster. I think that's why, as has been acknowledged by Obsidian, that in the first game a lot of the characters became obsolete once the player had access to the Jedi. There simply was no use for the others. If Bioware had implemented it better and allowed you to use your NPC party members for certain tasks (such as the ones described by the original poster), then certain party members would still have warranted consideration. IMO, T3 was useless after Taris, mainly because anytime there was semi-use for him, he couldn't be used (such as the above example). Also, even when he was still useful, like opening Master Uthar's door, he still wasn't needed since you could just do the double cross and gain access to the key. I'd say T3 and Zaalbar were the two most useless members of my party. In fact, a couple of times Zaalbar was never even active in my party. After I rescue him in the sewers, I'd just keep Carth and Mission in my party. On Kasshyyk, I just used two other characters, since Zaalbar automatically shows up once you get to Chundar's. Mission was pretty useless after a point too, but atleast she had a sidequest where she had to be along for. Plus she made me some cash with her demolition skills recoving mines. So yeah, I rambled on for a while, but as I said, that was one of the parts of the game I didn't like. Being unable to use party members' skills when the PC's were too low made them unuseable.
  21. One of the dialogue trees when you first arrive on Dantooine includes the Council replying with "yes, the Jedi Council is on Coruscant".
  22. After seeing all your posts, I'd be curious if there was anything you DID NOT hate. You seem like one of those people who complains about everything just for the sake of complaining. You'd make a great menopausal woman.
  23. If they take gender into account, then technically wouldn't there be 8 different possible ways you can play in KOTOR 2? LS male branches off to DS/LS male (2 paths) DS male branches off to DS/LS male (2 paths) LS female branches off to DS/LS female (2 paths) DS female branches off to DS/LS female (2 paths) Although I suppose the actual endings won't change for the different genders, so I guess there's still only 2 possible endings. I think the only thing that changes is the different ways you can play through the game.
