  1. With regards to the NJO series, it actually re-kindled my interest in SW novels again. IMO, it was a decent breath of fresh air from the same Rebellion vs. Empire conflicts that were in every book. The problem I had with the series was that it had too many different authors and thus the characterization of the main characters was thrown all to hell. Just when one character was starting to develop as a character, a different author would take over and completely ruin whatever changes the character went through. Also, the Yuuzhan Vong were a decent enemy, but I wasn't fond of the name. They sounded too Star Trek-ish. The concept was pretty good, but I wasn't too happy with the eventual explanation about why the Vong weren't felt in the Force. The series also went on and on when it could have been condensed. Too many books just dragged the series along with meaningless encounters. Overall though, it's not a bad read.
  2. I'm getting worried about confronting Darth Enderwiggin
  3. Question: Are the "bad guys" going to be known bad guys, or made up ones? For example, will we be facing a Darth Vader, or a Darth Malak, or Grand Admiral Thrawn? Or will it be made up guys during whichever era? I'd personally prefer (but not against) using original bad guys rather than going up against existing ones. However, I don't mean no facing Storm Troopers or Sith troopers. I'm mainly speaking of like the "big" bad guy.
  4. I hope, HOPE, that Episode III will be a great movie. Not because I want it to save GL's reputation, but to save the SW series. As it is, it seems a lot of people were put off by the two prequels so far, so if the third is a complete bust, then that'll permanently stain the SW universe. But atleast if the final episode recreates the atmosphere and story of the Original Trilogy, IMO it will atleast save the series from forever being remembered for two sub-par movies.
  5. Haven't Obsidian stated in interviews that their aim is to shift from "thug" to actual darkside acts? If they have, I don't remember it. I hope they have. Taken from the ValhallaGamers.com interview with Feargus Urquhart:

  7. But eventually there are going to be individuals who won't be swayed by persuasion. Killing Mission was valid because she refused to side with him. Revan gave her the option of joining him/her, but she refused.
  8. I don't think I've ever seen more condescending people on one message board before.
  9. With regards to Mission, you didn't have to kill her yourself. You could get Zaalbar to do it (which is EXACTLY what a Sith Lord would do). You could convince her best friend to turn on her and kill her because she chose to oppose you. As for Revan, it was explained partially in the game. In speaking with master Zhar, he talks about Revan being his apprentice, but Revan being too eager to learn. He always wanted more information, more learning of the Force than his master's felt was ready. Thus, he went on a search for this mystical Star Forge and that's what turned him to the DS. I don't know how you missed that.
  10. Is "alter" a predominantly DS Force skill? The reason I ask is in a couple of my source books, Yoda has higher skills than the Emperor and Vader in Control and Sense, but the Emperor has a higher skill than Yoda in Alter. As for character choice, if everyone else is going to be a Jedi, I don't want to be the only non-Jedi. I was only thinking of being non-Jedi if we had, for example, 6 people in the party, and 3 were Jedi, 3 non-Jedi. But if it's a case of 5 Jedi plus my character, I might as well go with the flow.
  11. What happens if one (or more) of us can't make one of the sessions? I've got a lot of free time currently, but I can't really guarantee that will continue.
  12. He's using the obese person's excuse for why it's McDonald's fault they're fat. They don't have the willpower to control themselves, so they need to blame someone else for making their indulgence so easy. He doesn't HAVE to play as a Jedi. He can just as easily stock up on skills and feats suited for a soldier/bounty hunter, not use his lightsaber and use blasters instead, never click on the Force power options, etc. But apparently he can't control himself since BioWare made the options possible to choose.
  13. my vote goes for the KOTOR era. But if not that, then I definitely agree the Thrawn era. I guess I'll be one of the party's only non-Jedi Unless that poses a problem, then I'll gladly be a Jedi
  14. The funny thing is, I can use Hades One's own arguement against him. I played Fallout 2, and the very thing that I didn't like about it, is the thing he complains about KOTOR: character selection. I didn't like the characters that were available to me in Fallout 2. I didn't like the storyline, and never really felt immersed in the game play because I was always playing "someone else's character". I think Hades One is suffering from a God complex, in that he thinks that just because KOTOR doesn't allow you to play a character HE wants to play (hell, the kind of character he wants to play doesn't even exist in the SW universe), then that means it's limiting.
  15. So if I pick a freighter captain, I'll have some crime lord wanting his 25,000 credits back soon?
  16. Ender, How close do the new rules compare with the ones I'm familiar with (the old West End Games ones)? Are the character templates similar? I still have a bunch of old templates laying around if they're similar.
  17. Bookmarked the two sites. I'll check them out tomorrow or wednesday.
  18. I have time to play, pretty much anytime. I live in the Eastern time zone, so I guess as long as none of you are from Europe or Australia and want to play at 5 or 6 am my time, I'm good to go. Personally, I'd like to play through the KOTOR period.
  19. I wouldn't mind giving this a try, if there's room. I used to roleplay WAY back using those West End Games books, but it's been about 10 years since I did.
  20. In the movies, did any characters use the yellow blade? Off the top of my head, Mace used purple, Luke's RotJ saber was green, Vader's was red, and wasn't Obi-Wan's blue?
  21. I liked the purple blade, but once Mantle of the Force and Heart of the Guardian (or whatever they were called) were available, I couldn't use purple anymore. The yellow was my least favorite color for my blade.
  22. Juhani was nothing but a tease. She confesses her love for me on the roof of the temple, and then when I tell her I feel the same way, she brushes me off and says we have to defeat Malak. Typical female
  23. I picked my nickname because I signed up for a STAR WARS GAME forum. I don't post in any of the other forums, so why wouldn't I choose a Star Wars-related name? Also, I am not taking Star Wars, this game, or this forum too seriously. I just find you incredibly annoying because you act like one of those annoying 15 year olds that go on message boards to spam the forum while others are trying to have an interesting discussion. If I was taking this too seriously, I'd hate you. But I don't. I just find you incredibly annoying and your posts completely pointless and inflaming.
  24. You instigate flame wars because you annoy people on this board that are trying to discuss KOTOR: TSL by repeating the SAME thing over and over. Every single one of your posts consists of 1)you not buying the game 2)you not looking forward to the game 3)you hate being "made" to play as a Jedi and slight variations to each. You don't add ANYTHING to any discussions, except to have other forumers find your posts annoying. There are others on here who share your view about being able to play as a non-Jedi, but they also contribute to discussions, or add valuable insights/information on topics in here. You don't. You don't add a thing except to respond to ANY topic, whether it be about weapons, about Force Powers, about the main end boss, etc. with you not wanting to be forced to play as a Jedi. Seriously, if you're over 13 years old, I suggest doing something more meaningful with your time than posting one line crap in every thread on here.
  25. I really wish there was an "ignore" function on here. I try to avoid Hades_One's posts, but he seems to want to post in every thread saying the exact same thing. Seriously dude, just leave it alone. As Enderwiggin stated, it's f***ing annoying (sorry about the swearing, but my God he's an idiot). Just leave. I know the moderators are quite lax here, and most times that's a good thing, but holy hell it'd be nice if he'd just be banned since he doesn't even try to add anything productive to the discussions, just instigates flame wars.
