  1. Each had like 1000 credits on them, plus some thermals and decent weapons.
  2. I'm not sure. It might have been a Bioware creation. But if you want to check, the Star Wars databank has pictures of most of the species in the SW universe.
  3. Oh God, Kate Beckinsale would be the ultimate Bastila Shan. I know that Jennifer Hale's voice made the character, but Kate's got the british accent as well and, IMO, is just absolutely stunningly gorgeous. As for the rest, I've never really pictured any of them as a "real life" counterpart.
  4. Purists? I'd consider myself a purist in terms of thinking the OT is better than the PT. However, that doesn't mean that I don't think the Darth Maul duel isn't the best of all the films.
  5. I don't think that would work, considering the vast amount of timeline material that the SW universe covers. As far as I know, the TV series is going to be about a specific timeframe only (and signs point to the timeframe between RotS and ANH).
  6. No, there's nothing you can do now to fix the errors that have already occured. My solution is from now on, they should be more dilligent about it.
  7. Which rules did they leave out that screwed up the balance and strategic combat aspects? This is an honest question, since I'm not too familiar with the PnP d20 ruleset.
  8. The "problem" stems from authors not bothering to do a thorough background research before writing their stories, and from an editing team that misses some pretty obvious errors. So from that standpoint, it all comes down to dilligence on the part of those involved in writing the "next" book.
  9. Was that directed at me?
  10. So if the punishment for treachery was so much, why would they follow Malak, who had done the coward thing and attacked his master from behind, rather than Revan, who had never actually lost a fight to Malak? If anything, if you were DS, they should have rejoiced that their true Sith master had returned and vowed to fight against Malak for being a coward and a poor Sith Lord.
  11. Don't mistake my comments in the other thread as suggesting I think that they should stay away from Continuity. In fact, I believe strongly that in order for all things SW to fall in to place with one another, continuity is a must. It adds to the depth and detail of the universe. But (and this is a big but), my point in the other thread is that to say SW continuity has done a good job is a farce. There have been way too many errors along the way to contend that continuity is this perfect or near-perfect entity that has kept the SW universe cohesive. If anything, they've done a poor job of keeping the continuity working with all the errors and ret-cons needed throughout games, books, movies, comics, etc.
  12. I disagree. I thought the Ep.1 duel was the best of any of the movies (except for the novelty aspect of the Yoda duel). I thought Maul looked like a true Sith warrior who had perfected the art of the double blades and the duel between he and Obi-wan and Qui-gon showed that.
  13. The main thing that bothered me was there was no change in reaction really towards you even after you became fully LS or fully DS. The Jedi Council still agreed they should train you even if you were chalk white with veins popping out. The Sith students on Korriban attacked you even after you'd slain their two masters. Every Sith you met that acknowledged you were Revan, still seemed to follow Malak. Bit of variation in their attitudes depending on if you were DS or LS would have been nice.
  14. Not really. Yoda, if he chose, could use Force lightning. And he's a LS Jedi Master. I think it'd just take more out of him than it does Palpatine, but both have the ability to use the power. But meh, it might add replay value, but I think it'd limit your choices through each play thru.
  15. How? I've heard complaints about this and that, but I've yet to see suggestions how Bioware should have handled it. It's a lot easier to just say "it was wrong. they should have done something else" than to actually come up with detailed ideas. If you've listed your ideas, then my apology. But from about the time I joined the thread (pg. 15 or so), you haven't given any actual ideas about what they could or should have done, just complaints about what they did do.
  16. Even in the books I've read (which is pretty much ALL of them), no Dark Jedi or Sith seem to use the double bladed lightsaber. Which should have made the double bladed lightsaber a lot more difficult to obtain in KOTOR.
  17. I think you misunderstood my reason for posting. I could care less whether the valley is wrong or not, or whether it should be fixed or not. I posted because I disagree wholeheartedly with you that SW continuity is strong and thus can be used to "prove a point". It's not, and you can't. There are too many errors in continuity that NEEDED fixing in order to make any sense that continuity as a whole losses a LOT of credibility. Anything that needs that much fixing shouldn't be considered "strong".
  18. Has any LSer in the history of SW ever used a double bladed lightsaber?
  19. Then your entire point lost all it's strength. You said that SW continuity is strong, and thus it's an outcry that Bioware changed the look of the valley, insinuating that these kind of errors or changes NEVER or RARELY occur in the SW continuity. Now you're changing your tune saying that as long as they eventually get around to fixing it, continuity is strong. That's wrong and so is your argument.
  20. Actually, it hasn't been fixed. The Chak Fel thing is still a mystery and even Sue Rostini (the head of editing and all that fun stuff) has said they haven't done anything concrete about it yet. Sure, they may end up coming up with something to rationalize it, but the POINT IS these mistakes happen, so to say that continuity should be taken as gospel is to disregard the fact that a LOT of times, continuity is messed up and requires fixing. If continuity was as strong as you would have us believe, they wouldn't need to fix things, such as the Mara Jade/Lando Calrissian fiasco.
  21. Just one? -Soontir Fel was supposed to only have 5 kids. I forget all their names, but none of them were named "Chak". Tim Zahn writes Survivor's Quest and there is a Fel kid named "Chak" who Luke and Mara encounter. This has still yet to be explained, even by the VIPS (those responsible for editing the books and retconning things). -The size of Super Star Destroyers have been described as both 8 km long and 12 km long, yet there is no actual definite answer which is correct. -In one of the earlier NJO books, Jaina's age was stated as 18 years old. Yet, two or three books later (ie. later in chronological terms), she was again listed at 17 years old. These are three things right off the top of my head, so don't suggest that EU continuity is strong. It's got a lot of holes in it and shouldn't be used as a "see, I'm right" excuse.
  22. Considering the EU continuity is shoddy at best, I don't think you have much of a leg to stand on if you're using the "continuity trumps all" card.
  23. Kobe's no rapist! Plus Jordan wasn't exactly an angel. As for who's better... impossible to see. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, it's not (we're way off topic, but then again which thread ever stays on topic in here?). Jordan's won more MVP awards, more scoring titles, more championships, higher points per game, etc. Kobe wasn't even the best player on his own TEAM (Shaq was), so I don't think he's even close to Jordan.
  24. Jordan's much better than the rapist ball hog
  25. If Force powers were alignment bound, it might make it less enjoyable to play through, since if you choose to play DS for half the game, only the DS FP will be available to you, even if you decide to "redeem" yourself at the end and go LS. What would happen then? You lose all your DS Force powers and have to start over with entry level LS Force powers? I don't think it'd work. I think the best option is to have "penalties" for using the opposite alignment Force power. For instance, if you are a LSer, then if you use any DS Force powers you get penalized big time for it. Vice versa for a DSer using a LS power.
