Wouldn't this be better suited for the Spoiler forum? I mean if people pick the exile, and give you the reasons, that will likely include his story and examples from the game.

I think he's talking more in regards to them commenting on the issues that the XBox version is plagued with and commenting on whether they're actively working on fixing those for the PC release.

I've gone off Lucasarts after this entire process. In my mind they've proven that instant sales and quick revenue in the short term are more important to them than goodwill and customer relations/loyalty in the long term. Whoever is running Lucasarts (or who makes the big decisions) certainly doesn't have a clue when it comes to long-term sucess. But then again, chances are they want to keep their job (who can blame them) so they only care about doing what's best in the short term. Afterall, their PR has been absolutely horrible throughout the entire KOTOR:TSL development process.

Because polls tend to clutter up the forums since everytime someone votes it gets bumped up to the top, even if no one has actually posted a reply for days or weeks.

Good luck with that. I haven't seen a single LA staff member respond to anything on those forums. My guess is they just put them up for the kiddies to play.

From all indications, the devs have stated that the system reqs will be approximately what they were for KOTOR 1. Although it would be nice if we had a definite answer so that those with low end systems have time to upgrade before the Feb release. "

Maybe this would be better of being stickied in the PC version forum, since that's the only forum that realistically should still have people asking the Devs some questions. Or close this one and sticky a brand new thread like this in the PC forum. my 2 cents.

I haven't read the spoilers, so I don't know exactly what the ending is, but from the sounds of it it sounds like it could be a . If that's the case, then I don't see how they can hold off on developing KOTOR3 for 2 or more years.

He said gamespot, not gamespy. But regardless, IGN gave a 9.3 while gamespot gave a 8.5. From an advertising point of view, I can understand why a company would rather display a "9.3" score prominently than a "8.5" or even a "7.5" that Barbie fan...err I mean 1up.com gave them.

I'd be more worried about the lack of black/white rings in the tech-help forum where all the bugs and glitches are being reported.

Based on the responses by Bioware on the Bio boards, they made it clear that Lucasarts didn't want them answering any modding questions and that Lucasarts didn't want the general public access to the tools to mod. I doubt very much that if Lucasarts wanted their game to be mod-friendly that Bioware would be able to say "no, it's our engine. too bad". Georgie boy's iron fist would drop on them and squash them like a bug.

Something tells me I'm going to love the ending. Anytime the majority of people seem to hate or dislike an ending of a game, I tend to feel the opposite about it. So this seems like a positive sign.

If that's the case then I'm really worried about the PC version, considering how many people seem to be having issues with the XBox version and the type of game stopping issues they are. That's my only consolation, knowing that if there are major issues atleast there's a possibility of a fix.

So does anyone think the 1up.com reviewer knows more than we do or has heard more than we have? He mentioned something about Bioware doing the follow up to Obsidian's TSL, meaning Bioware would be developing KOTOR III. Although considering the quality of that review, I wouldn't put too much stock in what he says.

That's just common sense though. When a movie is released, do you see them quote the bad reviews? Or the reviews where the reviewer gushes about the movie? It makes sense from an advertising and marketing point of view.

You may be correct about the Source engine. I haven't played HL2 so I have no clue whether the same graphical and engine issues exist. But after playing Bloodlines and seeing the lack of polish that Troika put in to it, I guess I'm a bit biased against the Source engine.

In a way I'd rather KOTOR III be on the same engine, if no other reason than to give the entire series a "Trilogy" feel to it. If I and II are on the current engine, then III is made on a vastly near (and improved) engine, the three games might not seem like they're part of the same series. As far as the Source engine goes, I'm not sure it works well with a cRPG. The technical issues with Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodlines has been plentiful and this is even seen on high end machines, not just machines that barely meet the minimum reqs. Unless it was just Troika who did a piss poor job, I'm not a big fan of the Source engine in terms of its use as a RPG engine.
