FemShep looks like she's about 15 years old in that picture. Who'd have thought a teenager had time to save the universe between all her homework and parties?

Reading the comments on this game, I'm getting the urge to buy it. I just tend to suck at stealth games (even Alpha Protocol, I tended to avoid the stealth build), so I'm still undecided.

Nathaniel's answer to my question brings me hope that if there is a DS4, one of the key areas I thought was lacking will be fixed/improved upon. So now, Mr. Chapman, it's time to butter up to Square Enix to make sure you get that chance.

Knowing my luck, that will mean they'll keep everything I hated in DA2, and add back everything I hated from DA:O.

From the OP's first article: Number of titles in development? I wonder what titles those would be. As for his last sentence, I wonder which franchises he's talking about. Wheel of Time, perhaps?

That trailer actually looks pretty good. Is it still considered "release date: when ready"?
-
I'd say it does. On reflection, that's one aspect of the DLC that is quite strong.

I'm going to download Old World Blues soon-ish and start a new play through with all the current DLC for New Vegas. I'm it'll be a while before I can play it if I'm starting from scratch. I doubt I should jump straight into it with a level 1 character.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I never understood the unbelievably high scores Oblivion got by gaming sites. Other than more polish, I don't see much difference between Oblivion and Two Worlds, which scored much lower almost universally. -
I guess it's the new craze to refer to any game that doesn't fit what *you* want a game to be like as "lazy programming" or "dumbed down". So by this criteria, Gears of War is a colossal failure and the developers are lazy because I didn't think it came close to the hype, and felt it was just another generic shooter. Am I doing this right?

Arkham Asylum is one of the games on my "to play" list. It's pretty cheap now, too. But I've just not gotten around to buying it yet. My fear is I'll like it so much I'll end up buying Arkham City on release date at full price, instead of holding off until both are dirt cheap.

Within the confines of DA2, perhaps (though a lot of the major ones seemed forced on you). But strictly in terms of decisions carrying over to DA3, did the player have any major choice that can affect DA3 that wasn't forced on them?

I finished playing the DA2 DLC, and am now finding it a struggle to finish the rest of my DA2 play through. The only reason I even began a new play through was to level up high enough to try the DLC. I'm also kind of pissed that the Fenris sidequest didn't kick in, even though I'm high on the friendship meter with him. I'm a completionist, especially on later play throughs, so not being able to finish Fenris' personal quest has soured me on this current play through.

I really hope they don't add MP to ME3. Save it for any potential branch off games in the ME universe in a later game.

So I'm right at the point just before the final fight against the big bad boss guy in Legacy, and I'm wondering what the fuss about this DLC is. I've read a bunch of posts stating how amazing the DLC was, and how it was the best DLC for the Dragon Age series BioWare has made. Unless I've missed half the content (which I don't think I have), it's a pretty mediocre dungeon romp, with a bit more lore tossed in. It's no better than Return to Ostagar or Warden's Keep. People also praised the amount of party banter throughout, but I didn't notice much chatter. There's a couple of lines early on between Isabela and Aveline, but other than that my party companions were mute.

Better customization system

I'm sure it's been covered in another thread already, but how exactly *does* certain affects work? It might have happened during the frenzy of combat, but I don't recall seeing any sort of on-screen indication that certain damage effects were taking effect. For instance, if my sword has points in Fire Damage, I don't recall seeing any numbers pop up when I hit an opponent that indicated there was fire damage done to them. I do recall some enemies on fire, but I had Anjali in my party shooting fireballs at them. So I don't know if that was from her fireballs, or from my flaming sword. Also, is the fire damage a guaranteed hit each time? Or is it a percentage thing where the higher your weapon's fire damage score, the more likely it is you'll score extra damage with fire? -
This is about how I felt about Two Worlds 2. Though I did enjoy the first map/area, but after that it got boring pretty fast.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

There aren't many RPGs coming out this year (ie. til the end of 2011), so Skyrim's on my radar due to lack of other options. But it's release doesn't give me the same sort of anticipation I get from, say, an Obsidian release or, yes, a BioWare release. -
Too many unusable abilities

I lived and died by Shield Bash early on with Lucas. -
Are you saying DS3 has less player choice than your typical RPG? If anything, it's got more than most. And with some of those choices, it significantly changes things later on in the game (Rajani's outcome being one of the bigger examples of this). Plus, there's tons of dialogue. I'm not sure how you can think there's less dialogue in this game than you'd find in games like DA, KOTOR, or NWN. The dialogue with NPCs is just as much as any other RPG I listed above. Click on any main quest (or even some sidequest) NPCs, and they'll go on for a novel about their issue and backstory behind the issue they want you to solve. So it's not like Obsidian didn't spend time fleshing out dialogue with characters you meet. They just didn't apply that same amount to your companions, which is why that was one of my "wish list" for the next game.

If I can legitimately compare it to DA:O, and DA:O has companion dialogue and sidequests associated with those companions, then why am I off by saying DS3 should have had that stuff too? Dragon Age 2 is another game that's an action RPG -- no chance in heck it's a strategic RPG, given how with the way enemies drop in from parachutes it's impossible to use any sort of strategy in combat and combat basically devolves into "smash button repeatedly until enemy is dead -- and it, too, has companion interaction and companion-specific sidequests. I liked DS3, you don't have to convince me that it was a good game. But I think it's a valid comment to suggest they could have done more with the companion/party interactions than what was there. And I think comparing it to similar games that have that feature is also valid.
