Prison justice
Gifted1: "Ive always heard there was a "prison code" wherein other inmates consider child abusers the lowest on the totem pole and enact their own form of justice." The irony of this is that we end up with men who've raped, assaulted, and murdered adults enacting 'justice' on those who've raped children by raping and assaulting them. After years in this environment, we release the criminals and wonder why they haven't reformed. Walshingham: "Wait... so you're saying its OK to torture people? So long as they're bad..." Indeed. Moreover, if we find out a few years later that they weren't actually guilty, we'll just let them out and give them a balloon in apology.

C# : The Future?
metadigital: " The point I was making, since you seemed to miss it, is that learning C is a good thing, because it will provide an entry point inot all the programming in demand (like Java 2 Enterprise Edition)." Learning C is a good thing. Learning C as a first language is not, especially for someone teaching themselves, which I believe the original poster was doing. I think it's better to learn a object oriented language first, one that doesn't trust the programmer to know what they're doing.

C# : The Future?
In April of 2003, ISO ratified the standards as ISO/IEC 23270 (C#), ISO/IEC 23271 (CLI) and ISO/IEC 23272 (CLI TR). Trusting Microsoft is not an issue as there is no legal undo button to open standardization. C++ is an excellent language to learn because it's the current industry standard. C# is an excellent language to learn because Microsoft is going to push it as the industry standard. Even if they don't succeed completely, it will be widespread. C++ programs can be faster than C# programs. Then again assembly language can be faster than C++ program wise. Development time for C# is faster than C++ but programs can be (max) 20% slower. I'd also suggest that C# has a nicer learning curve and that programs will have far less runtime errors. C++ has a nice range of supported tutorials; you can find several books specifically geared toward developing games in C++. Though C# has the same potential, you'll have to work harder to get the necessary information and instruction. If anyone ever tells you that language X is the best then they're incorrect. Imagine a group of construction workers sitting around arguing whether a hammer, screwdriver, or handsaw is the best tool or a group of mathematicians debating on the merits of addition verses multiplication. My situations are wandering into the realm of the absurd but the point is a valid one. A programming language is a tool, each has their strengths and weaknesses, and while the emotional tie many programmers develop toward their language of choice is romantic, it often provides a stumbling block for those in search of informed but unbiased opinions.

The Storyline
1. No, the Rakata were not the first Sith. The original Sith empire rose up 75,000 years before the Republic then degraded and were eventually taken over by the Dark Jedi. 2. As the creators of Hyperdrives you can't help but think they might be on more than one planet. 3. There could be good Rakata, yes.

I'm glad you liked it Tel Aviv. I don't think people rushed as much as The Sith Lords is a game designed to make you sit down for a bit afterwards and figure things out.

Designer Ramblings: New Cast of Companions
KOTORFanactic: "...throughout most of the Star Wars universe, we see mainly great male Jedi fall to the DarkSide." That might be because in the Star Wars movies the only female Jedi was 'that chick in the background'. Before Bastila, I'd never encountered a female Jedi. I

The Storyline
nightcleaver, We don't know who created the HK-50 droids as that was cut out of the final game. There's little evidence that Sion was their creator. junior, Perhaps you're right. I'm trying to figure out why Sion played dead for so long. I have a game where I'm about to get on the Harbinger again so I'll review the ship logs and then alter that section appropriately. Thank you for the help guys!
