Seeing your game version, you have TSLRCM. MAy be you could get help in their forum.

Difficult to say without more info. It seems to be either a graphic issue or a memory issue. May be a mouse pointer one since you can see the video and crash occurs after. Try disabling hardware mouse in the option of the launcher (before launching the game itself).

Can't Travel After Nar Shaddaa/Korriban
Orchomene replied to anaconda_vice's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
This is the cut scene where you first see the Sith with a death mask and Vistas, the Miraluka with a hood covering her face. But if disabling movies didn't solve your issue, then it's not the pb. I've posted in a near thread some tweaks that may help with Nvidia related issues. Hope this will work for you. -
Did you try that (if you have a NVIDIA card) ?
-
Ok, it seems you are trying to autopatch the game with the main menu. I'm not sure this works. You should may be try and find the patch files on a site like this one : http://www.fileplanet.com/152367/150000/fi...rds-Patch-v1.0b

Normally, you have to load a save before entering the cave. But I've not tested since I have not seen the bug myself.

Can't Travel After Nar Shaddaa/Korriban
Orchomene replied to anaconda_vice's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Did you try to diisable the movies in swkotor2.ini ? (two settings for DisableMovies=0 => 1 to do). You may also try to disable all the graphic and sounds and check if this work. If yes, then you reenable one after one the options and check the one that activates the issue. Did you already trigger the first Dark Nihilus with Vistas cut scene ? If not, that may be the problem. I also have Win 7 64 bits and didn't encounter the problem you have, for info. -
KOTOR II, a near perfect Game!
Orchomene replied to ponyhare's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I don't often use double-bladed. I generally begin with a simple then a small one and a normal one. The named crystal generally goes in the small one as any def bonus and the critical and damage bonus go in the main hand saber. Also, I like to have to wait before acquiring my lightsaber. It gives a feeling of reward. -
Alpha Protocol sales and sequel
Orchomene replied to epektasis's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
Consoles are 80% of the gaming market in the US but only in the sixties in Europe. So seeing the very low sales for Europe on VGChartz, one can expect that the game sold more on PC than consoles. So I'd say also between 300 and 400k in total. Games underated by reviews have a tendency to have a slower growth on sales. New IP too whereas sequels have a tendency to sell quickly. Thus, we should wait and see at least one more month to have a good idea on the result of AP. -
KOTOR II, a near perfect Game!

And there is a good mod for the missing parts of the game : http://www.deadlystream.com/forum/f123/ -
If you use a lot of EMP, you get a perk giving one more EMP per slot. That's really useful for later missions with lots of mini games.
-
Some way to help find the origin of the issue : - disable sound - run in window mode (two options full screen) - disable video (two options) Go there : http://www.tweakguides.com/KOTOR2_1.html

Having a recruit that has never touched a gun outside training be for the first time in real battle situation and do perfect headshots with a pistol at 50 m in less than 1 s, do you think that it's normal ? Do you think this is normal that in a RPG, you may roleplay a gun specialist yet miss all your target because you (as a player) are not very good in eye-hand coordination ? Gameplay-wise, it give a sense of evolution of your character. But of course, you don't have to enjoy RPG mechanics, it's a matyter of taste. But then, why to you buy RPGs ? I don't like the shooter mechanics, thus I don't buy shooters (with the exception of shooters that are marketed as RPG, like ME2). What would you think of a guy going in a MW forum and asking for an aiming mechanism based on character skill and not player skills ? Do you think he would survive more than 5 minutes in the upcoming flame war ? Well, I really don't know since I don't go to this kind of fora, but I can imagine a relatively bad reception.

Assistance with Vista Problem
Orchomene replied to Kira_Tsukasa's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Checked that ? http://www.tweakguides.com/KOTOR2_3.html -
About your technical issue, we can't help without more information on your settings for the game and your system. Did you try to lower the graphic settings of the game ? OR change the affinity of your CPU ? Or play in compatibility mode XP in case you are running the game on VistaWin7 ? Did you patch the game ? Did you install a mod ?

I have to admit that on normal, I had some difficulty to finish the first playthrough because I have not very good eye-hand coordiantions. But it was doable. I would not even attempt to do it on hard recruit, for sure. But it's not really a problem. I'd rather have it this way than finding it too easy on hard difficulty.

The Conspiracy Against Alpha Protocol
Orchomene replied to Deus Ex Machina's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
Well, you know, there is something called "easy mode" if someone doesn't know how to play a RPG. Do you really think that because a game is a bit difficult it is bad ? It's a matter of taste, of course, but it seems to me natural that if you plan poorly your character you will have some difficulties playing the game. It's the same in all RPGs, even action RPGs. -
Spy game =/= stealth game. Spying is more about intelligence work than stealth work. But of course, it's up to you if you don't like the game, even if you shouldn't be surprised to miss your target if you develop a stealth character rather than a firearm one. Also, perhaps you should play on normal if the game is too hard for you on hard. It's not a shame to play on normal difficulty.

The Conspiracy Against Alpha Protocol
Orchomene replied to Deus Ex Machina's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
What is appreciable in game is the impossibility to see all the game in one playthrough. It happened a lot in RPGs before and is rarer nowadays. That's what gives importance to the choices. Of course, from a design point of view, having to develop a game that will play in 40 hours and offers only 50% of the game in one playthrough will necessit to develop a 80 hours story. So, some editors would think that such a mechanic is a waste of time. -
Mod to remove all missions
Orchomene replied to poolofpoo's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
It may be hard for some missions since some info and dialogues are found in said missions. I don't know where the missions are defined so I can't say more. Sorry. -
The Conspiracy Against Alpha Protocol

I really did enjoy a lot BW games. But I just found that the quality is degrading games after games. I just found their last games ok, but not really better than that. -

Well, Obsidian is the major reason I had an interest to look closely to the game. I've not heard about it for a long time. Then, I've read a very bad review a knew the game was for me. You know, bad reviews are also a way to be convinced by a game if the reviewer doesn't like the knid of game you like and likes the kind of game you don't like. So in the end, it was the combination of Obsidian and bad reviews and I don't regret it. On the contrary, me2 bored me to the point I forced myself to play it 'til the end. And what ending...

Modding Alpha Protocol
Orchomene replied to MarteenDee's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
I've seen somewhere (I'm not at home), I think in APGame.ini some relative paths which contains a path to a mod directory. I don't think this directory exist in the game at installation, but creating it and puting files in it, respecting the structure, can perhaps allow us to override content. I don't think there are specific issues with Win7. I play AP on it with an i5 proc and all is fine. I would rather have a check on graphic cards drivers (I have an ATI).
