  1. You can find the game at the FNAC site : http://jeux-video.fnac.com/a1584980/Star-W...Mn=-1&Ra=-4 For the PC version. The XBox version is pretty hard to find even in english.
  2. Without more info I can just tell you to update you graphic card driver and check a bit more this forum and lucas one to see if any solution proposed may help you.
  3. Efficiently wise, I would say the most efficient is : - dual blaster + master speed = 4 attacks - Master sniper shot to x4 critical threat range. - precise shot the highest possible. - a high critical threat range weapon and of course, a disintegrator/disruptor (not a blaster) to bypass shields. Base damages are low, but with upgrades, it becomes high. But I don't remember the critical threat ranges and multipliers of pistols and rifles, so may be you should find some weapon guide and decide based on this. With the good feats and upgrades, you can quickly have a critical threat of more than 50%, meaning critic hits more than half of the time.
  4. Instead of flurry, a good option for a DEX based character is going the road of the critical strikes. You will loase on defense, but the overall damage delivered will be reall high.
  5. Integrated graphic cards are known to have issues with this game. Sorry, I can't help more.
  6. It's not Bioware that made Bloodlines, it's Troika.
  7. It may be sad that AP wasn't very successful at selling, but I'm not very fond of sequels in general. I'd rather see another genre being orinaly developed with specific gameplay than a rehash of a game with a new story. Even a spy game in 19th century would bring a very interesting setting and show the differences in the spying methods.
  8. Very well... tell a few games where the story is the BEST in the start. So good, it doesn't get better than that. Lionheart. But well, ok, it's because the game becomes a slaughter fest after the beginning.
  9. Polish, graphics, sounds : all attributes that can be forgotten because highly subjective and of no real interest for a video game being enjoying. Didn't you play video game with stunning graphics and a lot of polish but boring as death ? There were a lot of those kind of games at the beginning of the 3D engines. On the other hand, there is the gameplay. some find the shooter gameplay is fun, other don't. I thought ME1 was ok, but the evolution of the gameplay for an "all-over-action-you-don't-even-see-the-enemy-coming-so-cover-and-shot-as-there-is-no-tomorrow", I don't like it. It's just not my taste. Thus, every combat in ME2 was a pain for me. I was just playing it to see a bit more the story revealed. Well, the story : Shepard is raised from death, TIM said him to go to investigate the disappearing of humans in colonies. He then goes to a colony and find that collectors steal the humans. TIM then ask him to recruit people and go and destroy the collector base. End of story. Well, a story written in three sentences and two lines is not what I can call a story. It has the depth of a Star Wars book, that is saying it's at the bottom level of the literacy. Storytelling is void, there are a lot of plotholes and and so much discontinuities that it gives the impression that ten people write a part of the story and they just glued all the part together without checking if that had sense. In AP, even if there is not a lot of originality in the story, there was some kind of continuity in the way the story reveals. It may not seem a lot, but having a game with different outcome possible that seem coherent (more or less) whatever the story arc is chosen, it's not easy at all. So ok, there was not a lot of depth in the story that uses a lot of modern day "cliche" with islamist terrorists and bad companies selling weapons and controlling government agencies. But the way the story is developped and the interactions between missions is well designed. That is something I can appreciate. It's true that there are some flaws : bad PC controls and glitches. But PST had a lot of bugs. Fallout 1/2 were also very buggy. Those games didn't have very intuitive interfaces. Yet, people can see a qualityu outside this lack of "polish". Why isn't it anymore possible ?
  10. Yeah, ME games are epic. And then ? Why is "epic" a necessity in a story ? "epic" stories is the lazy way to attract people's attention. See the blockbusters of Hollywood, see Independance Day, Die Hard, Rambo 2 and more. Ok, those are movies one can enjoy. On the other hand, you can see Blade Runner or Brazil for sci fi, you can see La Strada. Those films are not "epic" yet better than the "epic" one I mentioned before. I don't say that AP is a chef d'oeuvre storywise, just that the lack of "epicness" is not a bad thing. The story of AP is not that much original and the storytelling is not a lot more than ok. But at least there is a story. Even more, the story change based on the actions of the player. That's what you can expect in a RPG that wants to be close to a P&P RPG (at least in spirit). On the other hand, the stories of ME games are always the same. In every BW games there is the same story as in ME. In ME2, it's even worse, there is no story. The characters of ME 2 are caricatures and don't feel real. Yeah, there are cinematics, ok. But I find it a bit expensive to pay that much for a game that is not more than a movie for which I would pay a lot less to watch. Sure, there are choices in ME2 : do you want to play the game and save all your NPCs or do you just want to skip hqalf of the game and lose half of your crew ? Blah. Gameplay wise, it's a boring shooter : cover/shoot/cover/shoot, rince and repeat, end of combat. There is no customization of equipment but changing the colour of the armour, finding some bonus +X% damage and minor modifications of the armour. In itself, you can go level 1 with the beginning equipment and fight the boss directly, the fight would be as easy since leveling doesn't change anything (besides enemies do level too) and equipment remains more or less the same as in the beginning. So AP is a OK game. Far from the best of Obsidian, I agree. But there are some efforts put into dialogues dynamics and the way you can shape the story. On the other hand, ME2 is a brand mainstream game without originality besides the famous interrupts. So considering that ME2 is one of the ten best RPGs that have ever been created is something I can't understand at all. It may be a good shooter, but it's a really bad RPG.
  11. Well, you have your own opinion and I have mine. What can I say to convince you that it's not fanboyism from me ? The reason I put AP above ME2 is the following : I liked playing AP despite some of the flaws (I faced less flaws than you, but it may be luck) and I forced myself to go to the end of ME2 and didn't like it all. I've unistalled ME2 and won't play it again. So, for me, this is clear that AP is above ME2. ME2 is like, as you say, Pirates of Caribbean, that is a mainstrwam movie. ME2 is a game for everyone but me. Poor story, porr character, a simple and uninnovative gameplay and boring fights. Also, saying that ME2 doesn't have technical issues is just wrong. You may not have faced BSD, but it happens. The engine is the same as the AP one and the issues (texture load) are the same. I'm not sure I'm the one that is the "fanboy" here.
  12. If you use a lot of EMP, you get a perk giving you one more EMP per inventory slot in your jacket. That helps a lot. Also, you can put EMP in more than one slot. First missions do not have that many hacking mini games, yet in the end, you can have to use a lot more EMP grenades. But by the end of the game, I had at least 12 EMP grenades (3 per slot and four full slots) and it was sufficient.
  13. I remember playing Fallout 3 with so much game breaking bugs that I had to use the console every hour just to avoid a crash. I had the "Jefferson Memorial" bug. It was solved way after I completed the game two or three times. I had also more bugs (not game breaking, I was lucky) in ME1/2 than in AP. Also DAO was as glitchy as a game could be. They solved only part of the bugs. Now, patch 1.04 that solved the game breaking bugs of DAA is just out. After how many time after the release of DAA ? All those games got reviews between 90% and 95% (except ME). So ? Are there game breaking bugs that are acceptable in one side and game breaking bugs that are not on the other side ? I don't really pay attention to reviews, but I think that less informed gamers may just read a review on some internet site and decide with just that if the game is good or not seeing the number of time I just see people posting information about a game they didn't play by just paraphrasing reviews they read. So, even if game reviews are as jokes as fox news, those reviews may have some impact (maybe just a small one) on the market and it's a bit worrying to see the level of subjectivity and lack of professionalism you can see on internet. Like reviews before a game is launched or just the day it's launched. Those reviews are the worst in terms of subjectivity and are based on either half an hour of gaming or worse are just made by people that got the game before others (that is, people that received graciously the game before others which may appear as some kind of agreement with the editor of the game). Of course, I don't say AP is the best game ever (like ME2 fan say so often), just that despite its flaws it delivers a better game experience to me than ME2. People may agree or not with this, but if you think that AP deserves the 70% of reviews, then ME2 is overrated and shouldn't be above 80%. On the other hand, you could consider AP underrated and having more than 80% and having ME2 at more than 90%. I feel a bit disgusted to hear that ME2 is the rpg of the year for some group of people. That says a lot about the video game market.
  14. Im so with you, I just bought game and im almost ready to return it as unplayable because of the computer hack mini game! Im set on easy and 24 secs like 5 minutes to short for all the choices on the pad to find. Been locked in a room trying to hack for 30 minutes and all I have gotten is very angry and upset Not looking good for this game! They could have at least added a bypass for the easy setting cause Im not good at these types of mini games! Hell I can barely pick the locks in the tutorial as well 1. I'm not the best one you can find in those mini games and was first very frustrated with the hacking one. But I can assure you you get used to it. Ok, controls on PC are not the best you can see, but the easy hacking are doable. 2. With level 1 in sabotage you can use EMP grenades to bypass the hacking.
  15. Gamebanshee has a pretty accurate and objective review of Alpha Protocol : http://www.gamebanshee.com/reviews/98215-alpha-protocol.html
  16. I don't think she "feeds" on their power, more than she applies the concept of "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger".
  17. "Force-vampire" is the interpretation of the jedi masters but it doesn't seem to me like this. The exile represents the death of the force. He/she has severed her/his link with the force up to the point of living without force. But no life exists normally without the force. So, if you see it in the spiritual perspective in an analogy with faith, the exile would be an atheist showing one can live without faith and thus severing the faith of people acknowledging this fact. This analogy is very present in the game with people talking about "religious" wars between sith and jedi. This is the way I understood the position of Kreia that wants to stop fanatism by destroying the durable faith in the force globally.
  18. It can be a bad install with missing textures. I have no other idea.
  19. There are tweaks that can help with Nvidia graphic cards issues just bellow if you want to have a look. That may help.
  20. Don't really know. I had issue in secret academy with the TSLRCM and missing handmaiden but it's been solved by patching. You may try to install the TSLRCM that correct some issues.
  21. A crack ? Why do you need a crack ?
  22. Since you have an Intel GPU, you

  25. SOLUTION TO KOTOR AND KOTOR 2 RANDOM CRASHES, STARTUP CRASHES AND DRIVER STOPPED RESPONDING PROBLEM IN VISTA WITH NVIDIA DRIVERS : This worked for me like a charm and took hours to solve the problem, but the game runs wonderful now without any crashes. (Just don't alt-tab while playing, the game doesn't like it.) Please note that I worked in a non-patched version of the game. But even with the patch there should be no random crashes except the game's original bugs. PART 1 : INI file Go to c:\program files\lucasarts\kotor2 and move swkotor2.ini to desktop, be sure the graphic options part is as follows : [Graphics Options] RefreshRate=60 Height=768 Width=1024 V-Sync=0 Anisotropy=8 Frame Buffer=0 Anti Aliasing=4 Texture Quality=2 Grass=1 Soft Shadows=0 Shadows=0 Brightness=57 EnableHardwareMouse=0 FullScreen=0 Sound options are as follows : [sound Options] Number 3D Voices=16 Number 2D Voices=24 2D3D Bias=1.00 Force Software=1 EAX=0 Sound Init=0 Music Volume=85 Voiceover Volume=85 Sound Effects Volume=85 Movie Volume=85 Disable Sound=0 After editing the file if required, remove it back to c:\program files\lucasarts\kotor2 folder. PART II : NVIDIA Control panel Go to your desktop right click and open NVIDIA control panel, now to the manage 3d settings and select global settings, change it as follows : Anisotropic filtering : 16x Anti-gamma : On Antialias mode : App-cont " - transparency : supersampling Conformant text clamp : Use hardware Err rep : Off Ext. limit : off Force mipmaps : Trilinear Max. prerendered frames : 8 Multidisp/mix GPU : Single performance Tex-filtering neg. bias : Clamp Tex-filt. quality : High Q Thread opt : off Trip buffer : off Vsync : force off PART III : Registry setup Click start, click start search, type regedit, run it. Search for "_swkotor.exe" (without commas). For me there were 3 entries and one of them is like : [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Cl ass\{4D36E968-E421-11DE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000] Under this folder, you will find _swkotor.exe entry. All entries must be REG_BINARY. Check and add these entries : _swkotor2.exe:D3D_16579523 01 00 00 00 _swkotor2.exe:D3D_30913648 01 00 00 00 _swkotor2.exe:D3D_60461791 47 67 41 08 _swkotor2.exe:D3D_94118636 00 00 00 00 _swkotor2.exe:D3DOGL_03385531 02 00 00 00 _swkotor2.exe:D3DOGL_12677978 60 16 62 51 _swkotor2.exe:D3DOGL_67207556 11 00 00 00 _swkotor2.exe:D3DOGL_70835937 27 00 32 22 _swkotor2.exe:D3DOGL_74095213 10 00 00 10 _swkotor2.exe:OGL_25631692 02 00 00 00 _swkotor2.exe:OGL_DefaultSwapInterval ff ff ff ff _swkotor2.exe:OGL_ExtensionStringVersion 00 00 00 00 _swkotor2.exe:OGL_TexClampBehavior 00 00 00 00 _swkotor2.exe:OGL_ThreadControl 02 00 00 00 _swkotor2.exe:OGL_TripleBuffer 01 00 00 00 : D (with no gap changes to smile) Close the registry editor, restart your computer and goodbye crashes... I believe OGL_ThreadControl is the critical point here. But to be sure I write all entries. Also changing all _swkotor2.exe entries to _swkotor.exe solves kotor 1 crashes, you may add them as seperate entries. Also I changed my swkotor.ini file as follows : [Graphics Options] V-Sync=0 Anisotropy=8 Frame Buffer=0 Anti Aliasing=4 Texture Quality=2 Emitters=1 Grass=1 Soft Shadows=0 Shadows=0 Brightness=57 EnableHardwareMouse=0 FullScreen=0 RefreshRate=60 Width=1024 Height=768 PART IV : Bad TDR, Bad TDR... This is an application for graphics drivers. When a driver stops responding, vista resets the device driver so the system continues stable. But the problem is old games sometimes stops responding naturally and vista thinks the game crashed. There is a fix for that problem incase your problem consists of this : start regedit and go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Gr aphicsDrivers], add a new REG_DWORD entry as TdrDdiDelay 120 TdrDelay 60 Close regedit. PART V : RESTART YOUR COMPUTER Somehow these changes requires restarting the computer to take effect. PART VI : PLAY YOUR GAME AND SAVE OFTEN INCASE Start your game in SP2 compability mode. Old mss32.dll is required also. The game starts in windowed mode, but when you changed the resolution from the graphic options, it turns to fullscreen. You should try turning on frame buffer effects and shadows as well from the ini file (Just set them to 1). I didn't care so I didn't try. But you may if it is important for you. The game is also buggy and rarely crashes to desktop after these settings so save often. Good game although, or may be best... RESULT : NVIDIA Drivers somehow sucks... PART VII : LAST RESORT Change your vista theme to classic to turn off windows aero subsytem. Also close the sidebar. As an option use CPU-control program and direct all processes to CPU1 incase you are using dualcore cpus.
