They are developing Fallout: Mass Effect. Destroyed buildings, snipers, things like that.

About what Gromnir said regarding TB, I can only say that VATS was already a kind of insult to turn based games. It's a mix between a limited system (no move, no tactic, only shooting) and a cheat (damage reduction). For me, FONV could have completly remove the VATS for what it brings as a playing option. I would have loved to see a real turn based mode, but I don't like ersatz.

It's released in Europe but not in North America yet, as far as I heard.

FO:Tactics map is useful. But I remember days where computer games had no map at all. It was fun to have to learn a bit the local geography before knowing where to go, part of the fun in exploration.

Neither am I from the US, I find DC boring as hell. I just have a lot of issues with cities that have the roman structure of straight and orthogonal streets. I had to constantly check the map to see where I was. In FO3, dungeons were too big and often boring too (with some exceptions) like the Hamilton hideaway, the Statesman hotel, ... I liked FO3 globally, it is an enjoyable game, but not one I would consider a game I would play again and again. FONV gives more replayability with the factions and a world less boring to explore. Some interesting characters and above all, it avoids the pretty pathetic vide for "drama" that has been too present in RPGs for ten years. I agree that many things are not perfect in FONV (and I don't talk about glitches or bugs) like the lack of motivation for the main story, the lack of balance between factions when considering available quests and the lack of depth in the Legion as it appears in the game.

Some Two Worlds 2 controversy : http://board.zuxxez.com/showthread.php?t=36044 In short, it seems that a big part of the land is there only for MP. But the magic system is very interesting and I don't feel the game is short. I've played around 20 hours and still in chapter 1.

I'm just dowloading TW2 from Gamersgate. I'll see it when I have time. I'm tempted by the expension of Divinity 2 but wasn't convinced by Ego Draconis. The dragon part was often too painful. I'll see later, maybe.

LC, you should try a melee or unarmed character waiting for the next patch.

At least in France, store retailers offer a lot less choice with respect to PC games. I'd rather buy a box with CDs or DVDs than have to download a game but you sometimes have no choice if you are not interested in the top sellers. For DD, I'd rather use GamrsGate than Steam. Much more freedom : you just have to download the game as in GoG and there are often different patched versions so you are not limited to the last version of the game. Also GamersGate has a good selection of strategy games and indie games. Plus it's Swedish, thus all the Paradox games are easily found and well supported.

As an alternative fuel for some rocket in an early quest.

Idem. I think that there are too many combats in RPGs to my taste. I can enjoy a combat when I have to find some tactics, but find tedious the repetitive fights that are most of the fights in RPGs (in general, there are some exceptions).

lol I wonder what's the funny part? Did I miss some obvious solution (very hard / hardcore) ? I didn't put any points on speech or barter. Ceasar was dead (I chose "do Ceasar still give you orders from beyond the grave") and battle couldn't be avoided. I'm buffeded with med-x, slasher, psycho and wear light armor (whole game in light armor to make sneaking optimal). Boss does power attack and I fall down (getting up takes long time and this was the only encounter where I'd hit the dirt). At this point there's at least 3-5 adds (tough legionares). Boss moves much faster then my Agi 5 character. And has huge amount of health. In hardcore mode health items ain't instant. That's not even the main problem as I could survive rather long time but my companions would die and at some point and then boss would stunlock me with the help of his numerous adds. If you manage to keep distance to boss, it starts to throw granades. Thankfully my character resist 'em rather good, thanks to certain perk but explosions can still throw you around. A first sniper shot from distance to get him near zero HP is helping a lot. Then he comes for the small discussion and you may be able to hit him with melee/unarmed.

In most locations, but with a level 25 I've had a very tough time at quarry junction. I had to reload several times before finding a good tactic against those deathclaws that kept coming by groups of three.

I think I'll lower the XP gain when killing critters, like dividing by 5. That should be sufficient to enjoy a game without leveling too quickly. I would then just have to do quest to gain levels.

I would really love to see another World of Darkness videogame.

I think Bethy are doing F4. Wouldn't mind though if Bethy publishes another (original) Obsidian game. Well if Bethesda do a Fallout 4 I'll pass on it then. Hopefully they will then shortly after allow Obsidian to then do a proper Fallout 4 after it. Fallout: New Seattle would be awesome. Fallout : EC

You can try and change the way the level step constant is used but I don't know where it's done. I've begun a new game (just arrived in Novac) last week end and I'm testing Unarmed. Very powerful when you get a spiked knuckles. I'm decapitating Viper raiders that are in metal armour. I'll side with the legion this time.

You may try to enter in the bunker with Veronica. The script at the entrance should be different (not sure, not tested) and may avoid the crash.

It's an issue FO3 already had with companions dropping weapons. Other case that may provoke a companion drop its given weapon in FO3 was damaged weapons by enemies. I avoid giving companions unique weapons and if I do so, I check before saves if the companion has still the weapon. If not, load back.

That's also the impression I had about this 'fix'.

And yet you bought ME2 after ME1, how do you explain that? Well, ME was ok. Not a very good game, but a game that mixed RPG and FPS. But ME2 was too much FPS/mission mode. I've hesitated before buying it but thought that it would be an improvement, as in 'evolution in a direction I like' which it wasn't.
-
Rushed or not, after the awful ME2 I regret to have bought, I'm not at all excited by DA2 and will wait for valid impressions of the game (ie, not reviews) before thinking about buying it. I find less and less interest in Bioware games. Lazy design, stories, dialogues, gameplay. All in all, DAO was a bit more than mediocre to me and would maybe have been a good game with less focus on hack and slash, less whinny and childish companions, more subtility. Only Logain was interesting. The worse aspect of their games is the inability to have some originality in their stories/storytelling.

I love the way Vampire Bloodlines has a strong community still going on patching the game. Same for Kotor2 or IE games. It shows that without money but dedication of people, you can do great things.

Yeah, I'm also tempted to have an unarmed build. Sniper and unarmed were actually my preferred builds in Fallout 2. I've not tested it, but I heard that melee combat has been improved compared to FO3. Good thing, it was really limited.
