Vital questions about Mass Effect

The Progenitor Creator Race is one of teh Holy Bio Triad of schticks that you can count on to be as sure as day, Brother K. The other two are, of course, Lesbian Sex and teh Tower of Hanoi. -
http://wkrg.com/news/article/teen_gives_bi..._bathroom/8567/ A baby was born in a Washington State McDonald's restroom and the mother says she didn't know she was pregnant. Most mothers have months to prepare for a child, but Danille Miller had just minutes. Miller was working the nightshift at the McDonald's in Vancouver, Washington on Friday, December 21st when she suddenly ran into the restroom feeling ill. Her co-worker, Jaynae Herrera ran in after her. Herrera asked if Miller was okay but something was definitely not normal. Miller was in pain and shaking. And to her shock, she was giving birth to a baby, right over the toilet. Jaynae called 9-1-1 and with the assistance of a dispatcher, helped deliver the baby. One of the first things the dispatcher said to do when the baby was delivered was to get the baby out of the toilet. Miller had a six-pound baby boy and named him Austin. Both mom and baby are doing fine and now have an interesting story to tell. Video: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2007/1...baby.birth.koin -- Yes - not just in the restroom, but actually in the toilet bowl. O_o; While I'm pleased that the baby was okay, I still think it's a ****ty way to be born (no pun intended). I could make a reference pertaining to the exigencies of safeguarding one's Fillet-O-Fish prior to handling another's McNuggets, but it would probably be in the best interests of everyone if I refrain. Happy New Year (and Birthday!) McToilet Kid - Ronald McDonald ain't got nothin' over you now.

I'll keep my MP5, thanks. Also: Is it go time? PPS: *points and laughs at Deraldin who we keep leaving out*

Nice. Who from?

Sure thing, Bok. It's similar to Oblivion in that it has an fairly deep alchemy making system, and it also allows some degree of free-form gaming and exploration. But unlike Oblivion its' not so open-ended to scare you away, and there's always a purpose/quest so it's very easy to get things going. In that respect, it's like KotOR. Strictly speaking, the combat is real-time hack-n-slash ala Diablo, but it's execution is far more complicated than that - the exact timing of a series of clicks effects the creation of combo-chains and aggregate damage. @Deraldin: In The Witcher of course! However, you might not see them with me having killed them all off and all.
-
@Kaftan: Things that make Witcher awesome include but are not limited to the following: Peasant sex, witch sex, driad sex, vampire sex, hot-chick-possessed-by-demon sex, elven sex, and nurseS sex (that's plural!). @Bok: You've likely seen teh screenie's on crappy rig. Try comparing Witcher on your bling system at 2560 res with ME (whose res is fixed), and it won't even be a competition.

Actually, "Witcher" is his middle name. "Of Rivia" is his surname. He's Dutch you see.

Don't forget the nurses, doctors, rebels, sorceresses, or politicians. Ok, true, and the wise yet fishy elder of the brickmakers. I hate fish-people. Whenever I see them, I make a special effort to slaughter them. Shaugin, Selkath & Vodyanoi have all coated my blades with their fishiness. I suppose I should be more tolerant, but stupid laws of stupid fish don't apply to me.

Netscape Navigator had its 15 minutes of fame back in '96/97. To be fair it's a miracle that it's still around, albeit an unwelcome one.
-
@BoK: Only in the sense that they're RPGs. @Hades: I thoroughly recommend that you get it if you're willing to suspend your disbelief with regards to the amnesia. It has the subtlety and moral ambiguity that MotB lacks, and lacks the genericism and MacGuffin based plot that ME has. Definitely RPG of the year for me. I'd give ME: 85%, MotB: 90%, & Witcher 95%.

That's true, but limitation can sometimes be a good thing when it helps create a tighter story like it did in Witcher and PS:T. The ironic thing is, despite The Witcher and PS:T having world-class storylines, they both used the cliche amnesiac protagonist plot device. Go figure. Also: ^That's the first time I've ever used that guy.

@Karka: Not exactly trumping the previous post in terms of gr4f1X bling, are we?

Then you haven't played The Witcher.

They look so sanitised - all straight lines and geometric shapes and greys and none of it looks lived in or used at all. I think 'it's a military base and/or research facility' is getting a little old as an excuse for why this doesn't look like a place that has ever been used or visited by people. This is why I liked the graphics of The Witcher so much. Speaking of which, everything is either a military base or research facility in Mass Effect. Not joking. Also, it is just me or are the graphics in The Witcher strictly superior to ME?

Thanks for the info. Most interesting. Of particular interest here would be the Bragg vs Linden case, but I'm guessing that one is ongoing. At least the Philadelphia Court found the part in the TOS about arbitration to be unenforcable. It will be interesting to see the end result of that case though, but I suppose that could take a while. Thanks for letting me know about the Bragg v. Linden case. It does seem pretty interesting although I wasn't aware of it until you mentioned it to me. You're also very astute in noting that arbitration in a TOS is a point of contention for enforceability. Here in the US, any additional term deemed to be a material alteration is not enforceable. The "big four" determinants of materiality are, like you've said, arbitration clauses (i.e where the location should be held for a legal dispute), in addition to finance charges (i.e. when the additional term involves an interest charge, etc), retention clauses (for retaining attorneys, etc), and warranty clauses: Warranty clauses are deemed to be material alteration as a matter of law (Union Carbide v. Oscar Meyer Foods). Finance charges are NOT deemed to material alterations (Rangen v. Valley Trout Farms). Arbitration is a split decision: Some courts will deem it to be a material alteration as a matter of law (Marlene v. Carnac). Other courts will leave the issue of materiality as question of fact, and allow the jury to decide (Dorton v. Collins & Aikman). Unfortunately, I can't remember how they handle retention clauses or the relevant cases of the top of my head.

Pool of Radiance is probably the best mod out there at the moment, although chapters 2 & 3 contain frequent typos/grammatical issues in addition to a couple bugs. Nothing game-breaking, however. From what I've seen Purgatorio is easily going to be the best, and it's due to be released soon!

If you're going to d/l some MP arcade games, Kaft then definitely get TMNT, since practically EVERYONE here has it. Also, a few of us have Worms. Listen guys: Sensible World of Soccer is now fixed so get that...please! I can't beat teh AI by myself.

It seems Al Qaeda are claiming this one, but it hasn't been confirmed (the source was some phone in to some random Italian news agency so it's hardly reliable).

If he did, then I would agree with you Walsy. However, the facts state otherwise: Musharraf received at least 4 requests for additional security measures (tinted windows/jammers/police mobiles) from Bhutto herself as well as 3 senators. There's no dispute by you that Musharraf, as incumbent president, had a duty to protect Bhutto from unreasonable harm. However, given the political and sociological climate in Pakistan, would a reasonable president have denied requests for additional security under these circumstances? I don't think so. (1) The gravity of the danger posed by bombs is incredible; (2) The probability of an occurance of such bombings is also high given the current history. Therefore, approving the requests was neither an excessive burden of precaution nor did it negate some kind of social utility. It was negligent foresight on his part, and a breach of the presidential duties bestowed to him "upon taking office". Consequently, given that Musharraf denied the approval of the security requests, and that the approval of the security requests was in his power, he did not do everything reasonable in his power to confer protection. Thus, some of the fault must be apportioned to Musharraf's forebearance.

Vital questions about Mass Effect

In fairness though, lesbians are so 2007. 2008's gonna be all about lebanese. -
Is it finally here? The death of the fantasy genre?
jaguars4ever replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
Worse. Have you not heard what it does to your system if you attempt to alt-tab? With nwn2 I can at least get some semblance of performance when run at 800x600. But with Witcher... Just make sure you have a bling system, and never ever alt-tab. -

You should definitely get Witcher, Brother Kaft. Just don't play it on your laptop, 'cause it'll run like ****. -
The thing is, society has a very dim view of us gamers in the first place. So his game hating probably somehow translates into being sensible by the d00fus masses. Or something.
