"NWN was neither. And 90 Dollars? Are you including expansion?" $90+ just the original game. Looking back I've spent adecent amount of change on NWN in the last few years. $200 for the 3 games than another $70 for the Platinum Edition as I gifted my old copy to my brother for his second computer. Then about $100 on the various manuls/strategy guides. WOWSERS! Funny thing, it was all worth it even though it isn't perfect since I still play it lots 2 and a half years after its initial release. That's staying power! Anyways, I'd have to say DD was a dissapointment as well due to all the 'net hype for an actual RPG with it and all it was a wannabe Diablo with role-playing elements. LH wasn't bad though I didn't play it long. As for one who said people were expecting a BG with Special rules.. well, people were expecting that as that's what they were basically led to believe.. That is all. For now.

Huh? Did anyone of you actually play the game? You can *easily* flirt with fellow vamps in the game.

So much for "no more mature topics in D&D"
Volourn replied to deganawida's topic in Computer and Console
Didn't the NWN Inn have a child or two? If not, meh, still, there's a lot of so called 'mature' stuf in both HOTU and TOEE to destroy these claims. -
"Zoq: Unfortunately, we have to go with NWN." That can occur often when expecting God's Gift To Gaming in a $90 game. R00fles!

How "official" is KOTOR in the Star Wars universe
Volourn replied to PlagueWielder's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
"Out of curiosity, do you feel the same way about Torment/BIS?" Eh. Completely different scenario there. At the time, BIS/Interplay were BIO's publishers so it would only make sense that BIO would 'share' their engine(s) with them. Torment was a BIS game made on the BIO IE. Obviously, without BIo PST would not ahve existed or would have existed ina completely different form 9which may have actually made it better or not; who knows0. Just like without BIS/Interplay; BIO wouldn't have been able to make the BG games.. So, it all works out. I'm just syaing that it's obvious why Obsidian got 'tapped' to make KOTOR2. Sure, talent plays a aprt; but it also helsp to being buddies with BIO who didn't want to make the sequel themselves and reccommended Obsidian to LA and "allowed" them to use their engine (ie. licensed it out) and lent their expertise. I doubt LA would have chosen Obsidian - a new company - out of a hat. -
Hmm.. Tough one.. There's quite a bit. I'd have to say various EA sports games. Most noteably NBA 2005. *shudders* <_<

"Bioware never gave Obsidian the game. LucasArts can do anything with KOTOR series." Don't fool yourself. There's a reason why Obsidian got KOTOR2; and that reason is Bioware. -
Yup. Anyone expecting the PC verison to be less buggy is joking themselves. Sure, they'll fix some of the bugs plauging the x-box version; but that will probably create other problems for the PC. Still, I don't think the game killing bugs are wide spread to completely worry about them; but still it is easy to understand how crappy it is if you get a buggy version of a game.

Game Reviewers taking bribes to boost scores...

"I don't read reviews" Unfortunately for you, I doubt anyone here is gullible enough to take that statement seriously. -
Game Reviewers taking bribes to boost scores...

"I bet that's how the sims 2 got high score." I'd bet you'd lose that bet. -
"but I'm just not going to support lousy QA by buying that product. If you don't care about that, it's your call. " Eh. It worked welle nough to finish it and I (mostly0 enjoyed the epxerience so yeah it was worth it. Obviously, you enjoyed it enough to finish it so really your hubaloo about its bugginess is just silly. If it's good enough for you to finish; it should be good enough to buy. Then again, you did rent it ( ) so it's not like you didn't put any money towards it.

To be fair, most years only have 2-3 actual top notch titles. It's not much of a difference, I think. BL is a good RPG, and worth the money. It could, and should have been a great RPG though. In fact, I'm dissapointed that I can't put it in my top 10.

"Complex magic system." This tells me nothing whatsoever. Complex how? 3 classes and all mages are not really that impressive. Destroying terrain is fun; but not exactly moving me role-playing wise. TB combat cna be good; but lacking physical combat (minus the warrior mage) the options may very well be lacking at leats until they explain the combat system in detail. Charcetrs may be good. Basically, to sum it up, we shall see..

"How may of you would say Bloodlines was the best PCRPG of 2004?" Eh. Considering I haven't played KOTOR2 (since it's not on PC yet); I'd have to say yes. Not much competition this year. <>
-
"but not necesarrily story wise" true. Story wise it's always a crapshoot. Espicially sicne story has nothing to do with the tech and is almost 100% opinion based on whther someone likes or dislikes a story.
-
Bah. Games have tended to get better. I expect that overall trend to continue though 2004 wasn't the best year. Some people have nostaligia twisting the past.

"...and..um..."kids"?" Yeah, this explains why kids were in NWN including HOTU. And, if you want, very much killable. R00fles! -
"Ps. Definition of irony: it turned out I had to review Ribbit King for the PS2 a few months later.. " Ha. If I had a heart, stories like this would warm me up. :D

Is it Raining on Your Parade?
Volourn replied to BuckeyeRowe's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well.. Some things I was looking forwrad to like the Influence System doesn't seem to be nearly as good as I thought it was gonna be. Still, I think the game - complaints aside - will still be a solidly fun experience so it'll be a worthy purchase. I don't think it'll suck; but I doubt it'll be my favorite game of all time. Then again, neither was KOTOR1 so meh. -
"Interplay is dead." Interplay isn't dead.

"What if Bioware, Obsidian, and Troika pool their resources and buy out Titus' shares of Interplay, take what licenses Interplay has and split among them. Obsidian will get Icewind Dale, Planescape Torment, Jefferson, and Van Buren. Bioware will regain all the Baldur's Gate property they made at Interplay, Troika would finally get their Fallout, then split other Interplay IP evenly. Descent, Freespace, and etc. That would be interesting if they did that." Why would Bioware have to share the purchase? R00fles! Anywyas, Ip doesn't own the rights to FO other than FOOL. And, having the Bg rights mean nothing as that belongs to Atari anyways. Same with IWD and PST. Adterall, one can't publish D&D games without Atari's support anyways.

Interplay still lives! GO HERVE GO!

Volourn replied to deganawida's topic in Computer and Console
"It was a question of allowing licensors of their IPs to publish mature content with their IP." Yet the most recent D&D products TOEE, and HOTU have "mature" material in them including slavery and the like. Maybe, they just don't like certain types of "mature" stuff like actual bordellos. :D
