  1. Atari obviously disagrees hence this and their fear of NWN1 being a threat to NWN2. LOL :D
  2. No, the real Sign of the Apocalypse is you posting this: "the gully dwarf makin' sense wit' a well thought-out an' dead-on-the-money perspective" :D
  3. And, for those gamers who weren't around when the games were released - afterall it's been nearly 10 years since BG1 so that's pretty much a whole new generation of gamers. I say more power to Atari in this case.
  4. "If there is support for NWN1 that is giving NWN1 more content than NWN2 will have at retail why buy that sequel?" Waita sec! I thoguht the masses only want better graphics? This is one thing that is undisputable that NWN2 offers that NWN1 doesn't. Also, the masses only play the OC which NWN2 also offers - a new OC... The masses don't buy PM. The masses likely dumped NWN1 3+ years ago. Anyways, the last thing that really needs to be said on this issue: The fact that Atari finds a 4 year old game like NWN a threat to a brand new, graphics enhanced sequel like NWN2's financial success is the greatest compliment Atari can give to BIO and NWN1 and the greatest insult they can give to Obsidian and NWN2. What a bunch of yokers they are! Thankfully, I have much more confidence in Obsidian and NWN2 than its own publisher does. LOLOLOLOLLIPOP R00fles! Game over.
  5. "Which part of "partly right" is it that you don't understand?" Of course, that wasn't your initial argument. Here'a s quote just for you: Mkrkeu wrote: "One might argue that since 4 of Nintendo's 5 titles are among the 6 best of all time (with only a Dreamcast game and a Playstation game breaking the dominance) the guy with the big Nintendo boner is right." There was no 'partial right' there was there? Nor was anyone disputing Nintendo's popularity.. just that it didn't have the most popular game of every generation with absolutely no doubt. Now, you are just backpedaling so now you are saying 'partially right'. Make up your mind... exactly what comments were you defending K from, again? P.S. The picture is coming clear. You can settle it once and for all!
  6. "Sadly after my defending Atari for pulling the plug on NWN, I am playing the NWN OC right now. I
  7. Cool; but I already own them all. P.S. I wodner if BIO will see any more from any BG series sales?
  8. Can't we all just get along?
  9. "False untill proven otherwise (which you can't...)" Actually, I can. NWN1 is a 4 year old game. Games get a really high percentage of their sales in the first 6 months of their existence. the number of copies sold of NWN now in 2006 is so miniscule it's silly. On top of this, as a sequel, a large number of NWN2 buyers are going to be those who bought NWN1 and who wnat the sequel. Afterall, sequels are made to beenfit from the success and popularity of the game they're a sequel to. If NWN is a 'threat' to NWN2 what does that make Atari's DDO? Bottom line, this decision likely cost NWN2 more sales than it gave it. Of course, no matter what, NWN2 is a 1 mil + seller, and it always was going to be. This just shows how desperate, and confused Atari is. Now, prove that NWN1 is a threat. guess what? You can't. Oh, SNAP! "Can't own something you no longer have..." Who said anything about 'owning'? BIO has never owned NWN series. It was Interplay, and then Atari that did. Duh.
  10. Amen to that.
  11. "Anyway, sorry, but I have no sympathy. NWN has been supported since 2002, and it had its run." It should be pointed out that Atari hasn't been supporting NWN for awhile now other than WOTC/Hasbro oking D&D stuff. "Why should Atari let NWN compete with NWN2?" NWN is not competition for NWN2. That's just people smokin' dope. Atari is simply panaicking because they are *this* close to being in dodo. They can't even pay their bills including it seems money they owe BIO. Check out www.interplay.com to see where that leads. "Even if the NWN community is small right now so what? Also if Bioware was planning on releasing premium modules for NWN2 that would have been cool, as I would always take more material from real game developers, but Bioware passed on NWN2. It
  12. "This is the part of "K's" original post I responded to. Now, I showed that Nintendo has 4 games in the top 6 games of all time on Gamerankings.com, despite them having a small library of games, so according to that he is partly right." That's funny. You don't quote him at all. In fact, you were debating with us others who was disagreeing with K. If you had noticed the quotes we were using; you'd know that we were disputing K'S point that nintendo had the 'most popular game' bar none of every generation of console. No one argued about that fact they make quality games. The key here is 'most popular game' bar none of every generation of console. That simply isn't true. Ninentdo has popular games that lot of people like, but most popular game of every generation of console bar none? Proof please.

Don't get too over confident Oiler fans! P.S. damn filters!!
  14. I wanted to comment on both those foolish posters; but the thread got locked just as I was about to post in it. Damn ya, BIO!!!! I'll boycott DA just for that!!!!!
  15. "I like the guy that wishes he had never bought an Atari 2600 back in the day." Ha. That was hilarious. Or just as bad, as the guy on the flip side, arguing that Atari knows better because they have 'more experience' than BIO since they've been around longer and Atari was doing BIO a 'favor' by 'pushing them forward' so BIO wouldn't get stagnated on doing NWN1... yet, ignores the existence of JE, ME, and DA. Some people suck at the internets and both of these two fools surely do. "there's barely even a tiny splash if at all if you check anywhere else in the online gaming community." Which only proves that Atari is panicking over NWN being a 'threat' to NWN2 for no good reason. NWN2 was/is/going to be a million seller pretty much no matter what happens at this stage. P.S. Though this issue has been covered by more than few sites. Not bad for a 4 year old game.
  16. "Ever hear of the phrase, what have you done for me lately?" Ooo... A sneak attack with my own words... Nice. "I think it would be a poor decision to give the go ahead to allow a feature get patched into the game, that was cut from their new game" Welll.. DLA was supposedly working on their PM for the past 2 years or so, and Atari/Hasbro/WOTC have had to go over it during that time for D&D content... yet they just noticed the included horses content now? Like I said... they, for some reason, fear that a 4 year old game is a threat to its a sequel. i think that's hilarious since sequels are usually made based on the success of the first. Weird stuff. Also, it should be noted that DLA's contract was not with Atari but with BIO ... "To a certain extent, 2006 will represent the final year of NWN1
  17. "As for whether or not Bioware was going to make PM for NWN2, did this come from Bioware, or from the DLA people?" DLA. And, chances are such a thing was likely in the 'plan to do/hope to do' list; not in the 'already signed the contract to do it' list... And, yes, DLA isn't an 'official' source. However, it should be pointed out that, thus far, what they have stated on this issue has been accurate enough to flat out say we can't trust what they say. Of course, we're only hearing their side and not Atari's... "can just imagine the fallout of an official release for NWN has rideable mounts in it, but NWN 2 didn't. It wouldn't necessarily be justified, but people have long since shown that they aren't particularly smart." An extreme minority that will have no real impact on NWN2's sales which seems to be all that Atari cares about (which they should, lol). And, most of them would likely have not bothered to buy NWN2 either way so meh. Afterall, both Obsidian and Atari could have (rightly) pointed out that NWN1 didn't have (rideable) horses at release nor did either expansion. We are getting horses in NWN2, and if there is an expansion, I'd be pretty surprised if Obsidian doesn't try to fix the problems they ahd getting them to work in the release... This is all short sighted desperation on Atari's part, I think. But, meh, it won;t effect me purchasing NWN2 either way. I buy games based on whether I think I'll enjoy them; not to spite companies. Another thing that bothers me is that now I know that I'll likely never be able to play POTSC or ID as this 99.9% puts a kibosh on any possible in store release of them in the future... P.S. And, Atari knows about NWN's financial viability which is why they released that PM expansion pack last year.. BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good job, Oilers. You had to go blow another prediction of mine. LOLOLLIPOP Now, all I need is Buffalo to win their series so I cna go 0-6 in predicting both Finalists' series on the way. R00fles! :D P.S. Roloson is the Oiler MVP at this moment, imo.
  19. 8 Mile - Good movie. It didn't end where I thought it would. Nice 'love story' it did not have. LOL :D Stir of Echoes - Kinda a rip off of that Bruce Willis flick; but entertaining nontheless. Great acting covers up the fact that the story itself isn't really new.
  20. Read K's posts again, good sir. Read it very closely. Very, very close. Then come back to us on this issue.
  21. http://www.dladventures.com/index.php Article by DLA... Interesting stuff. "Van Buren and Jefferson are way bigger than a DD mod." True. no doubt about that. But, is anyone saying otherwise? "People on their little crusade against the evil Atari, whoopee." Yeah, agreed. Crusades, and boycotts are lame.
  22. Obsidian will survive. They alreayd have contracts for at leats one other game anyways (if not). NWN2 will sell a million copies anyways - no post release support or not - and Obsidian can brag about that as they pimp their future products while Atari will be," What went so wrong? LOLOLOLOLLIPOP" Also, in a way, Obsidian (through Atari) is screwing with DLA because their PAID PM projects were cancelled because of fears that those projects would cause NWN2 to fail. LOL How ludicrous of Atari toa ctually think that nonsense! So, in that terms, 'payback is BLANK!" Hahaha! P.S. Not my view, btw. " P.P.S. It be akin to Atari cancelling a NWN2 expansion so NWN3 can be made by another company out of fear that the NWN2 expansion would cuase a loss of sales of NWN3.... P.P.P.S. I guess this blows the theory that the hardcore NWN fans are an 'unimportant' minority - the ones who buy PM - as it seems Atari fears them. LOLOLOLLIPOP
  23. If they thought Bio has such a big share in the sales of a NWN2 they would have never let OE make it..." Um.. BIo didn't want to develop NWN2. They passed on it, and suggested Obsidian. They had no choice to find another developer. However, it seems that BIO was interested in making PM for NWN2 (if Atari/Obsidian okayed it sinc ethey couldn't do it otherwise which is obvious). "Meh, the more extremist Bio fans are going to whine about DLA getting the shaft, then turn around and do the same to Obs." How are they screwing Obsidian? It's not like Obsidian is going to see a lot of the profits. LOL Espicially considering how desperate Atari is.
