  1. Agreed. BIO also clarified in that thread that the 'NWN Live Team' can't be killed exactly; becuas eit hasn't been ana ccurate way tod escribed it for some time. It's actually the 'Bioware Live Team'. However,t he fact that BIO has avoided addressing the issue and actually moved 9instead of erasing) the thread when it was found on the NWN2 baords gives some credence to the overall story... *the plot thickens* THE HEADLINES: 2006 Sequel Fears 2002 Original LOLOLOLOLOLLIPOP Silly Atari.
  2. From the BIO boards: Accoridng to Eldidrin, the one who worked on ID: "In addition to the 3 PMs for this summer, Bioware had plans for doing PMs for NWN2. One of them a sequel to a well loved PM from NWN1. As of last week those plans were killed to, by Bioware, they no longer have an interest in persueing the legalities. This is probably what disturbs me the most about the entire situation. Bioware got kicked in the teeth hard enough to not want to be involved in NWN2." Damn it, Atari! It should be noted, btw, that Atari isn't stopping financial support for NWN. They stopped that a llong time ago. They simply stopped BIO from releasing new content (1 more patch though). That's where the problem is. It seems Atari is a fraid that NWN2 can't compete with a 4 year old game. LOLOLOLOLOLOLLLIPOP
  3. "As for Witch's Wake 2, that died a looooooooooooooooooooooong time ago. I know people have been itching for it, but unless you heard anything from Rob Bartel (and only Rob Bartel), it was a pipe dream. Considering he didn't mention it at all when I chatted with him about the original Witch's Wake, he's either an absolute dynamo at keeping a secret, or he wasn't working on it." Supposedly, Atari killed that too. After a few Pm, I bleieve Atari proclaim only FR mods were allowed. "You'll all get your horses anyway, just not with a Bioware stamp on it." Simply not the same thing. "If I were Atari I'd probably do the same thing." Why? You have no faith in NWN2? I have a hard time belieivng that NWN's failure or success relies on the fact that NWN1 would still has support or not. Afterall, don't other sequels have their original games stoill be playing? Having NWN still being hyped as far as I'm concerned can *onlY* help NWN2. Why? Simple. Someone - for some odd reason who hasn't played NWN1 yet - picks up NWN up in stores, likes it, hears that NWN2 is being made, and since NWN is still very fresh in his mind, he'll eaisly scoop up the sequel. LOL Game over. P.S. I used to defend Atari; but if this is true; not anymore.
  4. Until Atari dies, they have full power over the game (along with WOTC and Hasbro). After they die, it'll be all WOTC and co. Anyways, why is this topic uP? It's dead. People like Grom got their answer. Let's move on. "
  5. Sorry about the image overload. <>
  6. Ahem. I like porn as much as the next fellow (if not more ); but back on topic: I tend to like Atari. I think they've done a great job supprting BIO's support of NWN. If this is true, it sucks big time, and makes me like them (if I even still do) a lot less. R00fles! :D
  7. ? Speculation is what the internet is about! "
  8. "The Live Team has been disbanded. Someone better tell Mr. Bartel" LOL :D
  9. "The game works perfectly well but each patch usually adds new features or base monsters." Espicially since rideable horses seem to be the fire that lit this storm off as Atari (accoridng to DLA) didn't want talk of free rideable hores in NWN1 intervere with their NWN2 E3 hype (espicially with the announcement ahwile back of no ridebale horses in NWN2). Gah. "Can Atari actually prevent BIO from continuing support of the game, even if it's BIO that will assume the expenses from now on (this assuming it was Atari that funded all of that until now)?" Accoridng to the chat logs, BIO has a 'clause' that allows them to continue patching it. However, it sees that most (if not all) the Live Team has been moved to other games... P.S. I guess this means I won't be looking forward to a PM Expansions Pack Part 2 in stores any time soon. Damn.... Wanted to try POTSC... Geh.
  10. Of course, you type a lot better than I do so you still get the edge. " "Not that NWN support and premium module release would really interfere with NWN2 sales but a great portion of the modding community is going to migrate to NWN2 either way. Not to mention the player base. " Agreed. Which is another reason why this move (if true) is silly on Atari's behalf. "They lifted the NDA before making a public announcement themselves? WTF?" I would not be surprised that Atari had no plans to announce this at all. The quieter the better for them. Of course, the NDA may have been with BIo and if so, who knows. *shrugs*

  12. A major NWN1 modding team. According to them, they were hired by BIO to work on Premium Modules. Some of their stuff has been released with other ones like the boss monsters found in Inifinity Dunegons (the newest mod). Apprarantly, DLA had their own PM due out; but that was a put a stop to it. They now plan to release it as a free module in September. Also, according to DLA, one of the main reasons is Atari's perception that BIO's continued support of NWN1 will intervere in NWN2's success (yeah, uhuh, NWN2 is a guaranteed 1mil+ seller). Also, that the horses that BIO was seemingly going to release in a future patch really got under Atari's skin espicially after the removal of rideable horses in NWN2, and they feared the 'bad publicity' at E3. DLA couldn't talk about it all until recently (according to them) because they were under a NDA which was recently lifted.. Like I said, this is DLA's musings only.
  13. "You are going to draw flak for this." Eh. They're gonna get flak no matter what. Afterall, Obsidian is saying how greta the game is. It's a guarantee that *somebody* will dislike the game so they'll give Obsidian flak ove rit. Saem with duration. Some will finish in 30-40 hours, others in the 60+ hour range, and some in less than 20 hours. This is stuff you cna't win; but I'd rather read what they have to say so we can se 'where they're coming from'.
  14. From SorceroR's Palace (as wellas RPGDot): http://www.sorcerers.net/index.php#001803 Here's a small quote: "May 26 02:55:16 <[DLA]Steel_Wind> Atari called to tell BioWare they were stopping the premium mod program and not authorizing any further patches for NWN1 May 26 02:55:22 Ouch. May 26 02:55:23 * Cygnata points to Lisa. Is. May 26 02:55:24 <[DLA]Steel_Wind> They did not want any talk of free horses at E3 May 26 02:55:25 Yikes! May 26 02:55:33 <[DLA]Steel_Wind> NWN1 is dead. Atari killed it. May 26 02:55:35 lol May 26 02:55:37 SW: WHY? May 26 02:55:42 <[DLA]Lisa> the live team was disbanded" There's a lot more info there as well. It goes on to talk about how BIO has 'provisions' to continue patching the game though.. btw, BIO hasn't confirmed (or denied) this info yet so at this time it's a rumour; but... I don't know what to say... Hmm...
  15. "How the hell can you fail jpg-compression in Irfanview? It's impossible! Ctrl-S to save, choose JPG in the list of formats, choose the compression rate on the slider to the right, press OK. Done. Ctrl-R to change resolution. Either press one of the Standard dimensions or type in your own, press OK. Done. Best program ever. " LOL Changing it to JPG was easy. There was no 'compression slider' for it that i saw to make the file size smalle nough. What's weird is I used it before without any problems. But, this time, Image Shack wouldn't accept it. Paint was MUCH better. Game over.
  16. It's one of the reasons why I have no problem posting there. Brutal honesty is always good, and I can tell the fifference between someone flaming for the sake of it, and someone (like you and the other sin this thread) giving good, solid advice. You, for exmaple, have given me another reason to add another (at least) beginning node for the Queen.
  17. You won't let the German-Codex scenario go at all, will you?
  18. Actually he does rule. he likely cna get anyone of us ban that he wishes to. :D Now, that's real power (well, internet wise anyways ). Though some thoguhts on the possible death rules for the OC would be a nice tidbit.
  19. "Read: **** you too, buddy." LOL No. Llyr is cool. His PM was awesome, with good dieas to make the dialogue better. And, no, I'm not being sarcastic. "Looks fine to me, Volo, just the editing...and some words just seem wrong for the situation. Some times it doesn't flow all that well." PM me if you want with the flow problems. Anything to help make the dialogue/mod better than it is is always good news.
  20. Most feedback is good espicially fair criticism. I'd rather that then everyone saying it's perfect when it might not be. Thanks for your thoughts, Llyranor!
  21. "Hmm, well, at least they don't seem to all lead to the same node, I guess." They don't. Sorry, you dislike the dialogue. You seemed to like the earlier ones (outside of errors) more... "Um, no offense or anything, a minor criticism that you've probably already got covered, but if I were you, I'd find an editor or something." Absolutely.
  22. Writing sucks, you think? Or too graphic?
  23. Oops.. I should have warned about 'mature' dialogue..... " My apologizes for those who get offended by such words. btw, For those gals worried about sexism, don't worry, you'll have the oppurtunity to call male characters all sorts of names....
  24. Now, try....
  25. Finally, it seems to be semi working. Got the whole lot of them in a photo blog. Looks like anyone can mess with it, so look quick (if you want) ebfore someone decides to have fun. LOL :D The new screenshots include the following: They include new dialogue, new areas, and the first look at henchmen after joining the party.
