I think it makes perfect sense. Why would anyone want the 'competition' to grab your dieas. Plus, perhaps, you don't want to announce something before you are ready to. It should be up to the owner of said project (ie. the one apying the bills) to decide when it's time to go public, and/or announce something. Perfectly legit thing to do, I think.

"I already said I believed NWN2 to be a sequel as well. Since both games take place in the same world" Llyr disproves your theory unless you are suggesting IWD was a sequel to Bg which was a sequel to POR1? Hmmm...
-
"Since you're not a fan of fighting and would like to see it taken away, you'd think a player taunting and glorifying in the fight afterwards would make you upset." Not as much as the actual fight does. That was my point. Taunting/pumping up the fans with a thumbs up doesn't break anyone's nose or gives out concussions. Seriously, he gave a thumbs up. Big whoop. "somehow the thumbs up is considered the worst of the two actions?" Read the above quote again. That's why I have a beef with this. Everyone is reacting liek the thumbs up is one of the 7 deadly sins while the fight itself is worth nothing more than a shrug. LOL Talk about misplaced priorties.
-
My god. Two players get into a fighter, and afterwards the 'winner' gives the home crowd a thumbs up, and somehow the thumbs up is considered the worst of the two actions? Hahahaha!!! I love hockey; but this just makes me shake my head about priorities in the sport. Bah. He should have gave the crowd two thumbs up.

Fair enough.

"Never beat NWN and I don't know much about NWN2s world. If they don't even take place in the same world, I wouldn't call it a sequel." They take place in the same world. In fcat, in the same area. NWN2 still doesn't continue the same story. But, it is a sequel nontheless. Madden is a series, and they have sequels 'cause they continue the same themes as do the FF games. Ask yourself your question? Why is FF13 being made, and why did they call FF13 if it wasn't a sequel? It's not a direct sequel ala FFX-2; but it is a sequel. Either way, good fun.

"The stories in each Final Fantasy are NOT connected in any way" Reread your own defintions that you provided. Or is a key word. Also check up the definition of series. Again, would you call NWN2 a sequel to NWN1? How about Madden 2007 a sequel too Madden 2006? Defintion of Sequel from here: http://education.yahoo.com/reference/dictionary/entry/sequel se
-
Yes, yes i does. Oh, btw, thanks for telling everyone that NWN2 is *not* a sequel to NWN1. R00fles! P.S. not to mention Madden 2007 is NOT a sequel to Madden 2006 since it doesn't continue the same 'story'. The list can go on. L0LLERS

Actually, those defintions help my cause, fools. "published, broadcast, or recorded work that continues the story or develops the THEME OF AN EARLIER ONE." The Final Fantasy SERIES surely continues the themes over its entire course. "To be a series these video games would need to be part of the same continuity." Bingo. And, they are. The continuity in the FF SERIES, I repeat SERIES very much fits these defintions. Or, or, or is the key word in defintion 1. 'continue the story' or 'develops the theme of an earlier one' which the FF SERIES surely does hence the following: FF1, FF2, FF3, FF4, FF5, ...., FF11, FF12, and FF13.
-
"FFX-2 is a sequel, the first of it's kind in the FF series.. ." False. Last i checked, there's FF1, FF2, FF3, FF4, FF5,...... FF11, FF12, FF13.. That sure looks like a lot of sequels to me.

"That being said... Reramping the battle system in each game does seem like a big change, doesn't? " Yet, the weapons, armour, spells, skills, and character type of special attacks are almost always the same. Heck, they resue the summon types repeatedly. Nothingw rong with that; but the FF games never scream 'change to me!"..
-
"Have you played any?" Every single last one, and even many of the side ones. "Start from number I and tell me there isn't drastic change in each game." Not enough outside of better graphics, and a variant combat system. Otehrwise, it's the same basic scenario, and game play. btw, I love Final Fantasy series. I have for a very long time. They're amongst my fvaorite games (most of 'em anyways); but I don't know how one cna post with a striaght face that a series with 12 games in it is a symbol of the company's 'willingness to change'. If that were true, they'd stop making them. Mind you, I don't really want them to as long as the series continue to eb fun.
-
Yet, they're still making Final Fantasy games... Hmm... Mah, them SS guys and their changes. LOL :D
-
Likely better than Oblivion. Then again, that likely don't take much... R00flers!
-
It's E3. None of these games are out or finished. It's ALL hype.
-
" but alignment invariably turns into a game of confinement " No. Only in poor campaigns it does. Then again, youa re the one actually thinks alignment = reputation. Hahaha! It's written right in the books: Alignment is a *tool* NOT a *straightjacket*. You cna role-play your character as you see fit. Nothing or no one should stop you.

It holds true either way. This site is dedciated a CRPG Developer. What kind of reaction did he expect? then again, he *knew* what kind of reaction to expect. He eveen writes it in his post. Those 'don't flame me; but...." pposts are hilarious! P.S. I read the whole thing. Bottom line is writing x is a waste of time on a board that is dedicated x is as close to trolling as one can get. Of course, reacting like Hades is just silly though it's obvious what G wants. I like G myself; but let's face the truth. "
-
"hahaha Wow, Hades really went off on Ginthaeriel." Hades is in one of those moods he gets into now and then. It'll pass. As for the thread topic, if it's not trolling it sure is darn close to it. Spamming that games are a waste of time on a gaming forum is , well, just asking for flames which is basically what trolling is. It's akin to those go to a forum just to say x game sucks and NOT expecting those who like the game to fire back. LOLOLOLOLOLOLLIPOP

Good. And, no one is stopping you from reloading if an npc dies afterall. The way Obsidian plans to set it up is for those who want dead = dead have to play your way.
-
We don't know that...
-
"Well... to be honest, most of the regular, mainstream (as in non-hardcore, so none of you count) gamers I know are morons, at least when it comes to gaming" You must know some dumb people. Most of the so called 'non hardcore' gamers I know aren't morons - gaming or otherwise. They'd likely go with the flow no matter the rules; but they have no problem playing it the 'hardcore' games. Besdies, don't most action games go with the 'you die, you reload' rule, anyways? I hears those action games are quite popular amongst the 'masses'? Hmmmm...
-
No, cybering, no pm. Game over. P.S. I hope they cchnage the rules or have some kind of option to have the bleeding/death rules a sper pnp. Then those who want the 'KOTOR way' can have it and we others can have the Way of the D&D Nerd.
-
"Is randomly picking on the members part of your duties as moderator?" Oh, come on. She's also a poster. She has the right... no, the OBLIGATION, to give her opinion. Just deal, dude. P.S. On the actual topic, we agree.

I'm with Raven (I wish :"> ). We can flame but be nice about it... like Eldar and I (though I flamed him more than he did me... but, it's how our relationship works ).
