  1. Blame Obsidian with their 'safe often and havemultiple save slots' advice in the load screens. :D Personally, I tedn to have 2-3 saved games ata time. Also, don't forget with NWN2 you could have various modules as well as the OC running which likely adds up...
  2. No, it was worse. It was one dimensional. Spellcasters were an absolute joke comapred to BG1. The game had you fighting demons, and nothing the demons did was impressive. PST had the same combat SYSTEM as BG1; but it's combat was different.
  3. No. Require? Are they telling Obsidian do it or else we will kill you? No, they don't require. If its a requirement for it to work on Vista (or whatevr); that's a choice that Obsidian has to make. Obsidian's choice, Obsidian's deal, Obsidian's problem.
  4. MS did not make NWN2. They ahve nothing to do with NWN2. To blame them for NWN2's weaknesses or give them credit for NWN2's weaknesses is beyond a cop out. It's Obsidian as the developer, and Atari as the publisher who are the ones to complain to. Period.
  5. "they strike me as the usual "combat is everything" player, so telling them to play a fighting game instead isn't silly, just a practical suggestion to help them avoid more frustration caused by yet another easy battle." Absolutely ridiculousness. NWN2 has a lot of combat, and since the majority of the game is combat focused; eveyrone has the right to complain about the challnege level of combat. To sya that because it is a role-playing combat doens't mean much is absolutely ridiculous and so if you complain about combat you should go play a 'fighting game' is just plain foolish and missing the point. You sound like the PST fanboys when people complain that PST's was a joke espciially compared to other IE games. PST has a lot of combat and therefore its combat should be judged as part of the experience. Same, and espicially when NWN2. Combat plays a big role in the experience and therefore combat is very much able of being judged since its a huge part of the gaming experience.
  6. "don't mind battles that are winnable with average characters who don't use all of their skills." Eh? So I'm a horrible role-player because I don't NEED to use a certain spell to win a battle? LMAO I think the idea that one doens't have to use one specific strategy to win a fight is a GOOD thing. If there's only one way to win a fight than I think the battle was poorly made in most cases.
  7. "BG2 was a mage battle-fest, and if you didn't use any debuff spells then you were a pretty crappy player. Granted, in vanilla BG2 you could still fight your way past with ze awesome loot you get and all, but with some of the harder and better mods out there, no way. " Crappy player? Why would I be a crappy player by not needing useless and overrated spells? The crappy players are the ones who were so dependent on one type of spell. R00fles! "You're telling me you just slashed and pierced every stoneskin down instead of casting Breach? ROFL TOFL." Absolutely. Breach is overrated.
  8. WOW! M summons seem to last until the duration runs around. Espicially the elementals sicne they're immune to many things and Mord's swords. Even the animals cna keep truckin' at appropriate levels. didn't summon any outsider sor udnead yet though. This is how I deal with stoneskin - hack away through it! I never sued admantine weapons. They seem wussy. 2 extra magical damage? Big whoop.
  9. "Summons are really way too weak in this game" Eh? You musta used different summons than me. And, heck, I didn't use any 'debuffing' spells the entire game. Heck, i never bothered with them in any IE game for that matter. Do use them in NWN1 though, and I'm sure I will come various modules/PWs in NWN2.
  10. "Dwarves: I consider dwarves to be rather clumsy people (they dont even know how to walk silently) +2 CON, -2 DEX. However, they are strong but fugly: +2 STR and -2 CHA" That must explain why they are excellent craftsman and have excellent scouts. On top of that, dwarves are NOT ugly. Not to mention charisma is about force of personality and not too many beings have a stronger force of personality than dwarves do.
  11. WOW! You play football in the kitchen? NOW, that is tough. My poor mom.
  12. "Philly, Dallas, and Atlanta." All good teams. they also could have evary easily beaten the Colts (which would ahve meant no undefeatable talk). And, they could have taken out Chicago last week despite ahorrible game by their QB and misisng a good chunk of their team (espicially on defense). The Giants wer every much super bowl claibre. Now, I'm not so sure, obviously. And, no, that shot wasn't dirty. It was clean. If it was dirty there'd have been a penalty since the refs obviosuly saw it. You cna make a list of hudnreds of plays and quotes by millions of ex players. If it was dirty it be illegal. Game over.
  13. "I think the Dragon could have been harder if they made the AI better; i.e. make it randomly change targets eveyr once in a while" LOL My version of the dragon decide to ignore my tanks and went straight for Grobnar who was on the other side of the map. HA! Poor little guy didn't stand a chance and died rather quickly. The dragon mya move funnily and very slowly but it has a HUGE reach.
  14. Yeah, I should actually comment on the video. That poo is whacked out, man! p.s. He supposedly apologized afetrwards; but won't speak on camera about it. Seinfield says that was disagraceful and is ure that his old tv buddy feels horrible about it. Meh.
  15. Tomato tomato.
  16. Aww.. Thought you meant NWN2! BOO!!
  17. "The stupidest thing that i really REALLY hate is that area of effect, and even Chain Lightning, hurts containers. Half the dragon loot was broken. I mean, what the hell is that?! Fireball and whatever I can understand, but chain lightning is supposed to jump from hostile to hostile. If it can avoid jumping to friendlies why can't it avoid jumping to boxes? Dunno how it works in pnp, but poopies." It's how Obsidian seems to have viewed hardcore/D&D rules in NWN2. Pretty much any spell - espciially area effect spells - seem to target EVERYTHING in their area. Thankfully, due to some cajoling, much of this seems to be on the go for a fix - most noteably spells like IGMS being party friendly as well as spells like Fireburst *not* effectiing the caster since it shouldn't. I'm hopeing to get them to change a few spells so they can be more 'true' to the intention of the spell in question. IIRC, in pnp, I'm not even sure Cl can even jump party members. It effects whatever is in its path. I may be wrong as it's been awhile since I opened a pnp book and the lightning spells have never been amongst my 'go to' spells. As for it breaking up the loot. LOL I never had that happen to me with the drgaon hoard. hehe. Most of its junk anyways, imo. The good part comes when you get back to the keep and see how much loot your goons brought back. "Volo, I found Firkraag ridiculously easy, so its just personal opinion. I don't think any of the dragons were really hard though, except for some of those super-modded BG2 dragons. They were insane." I don't use BG mods; but while I agree Firkragg isn't hard or anything; he's surely more challenging than this one. Though, he has some tricks like regen. Wing bffet won't ruin your spells if your casters aren't near - neither of mine were. Raven: Try the regen spell. Z should ahve it, and I'm sure Elanee has it as well IIRC. You regen very quickly; but duration is hort. It's what the dragon casts I believe. Grobnar is not that good as an offensive spellcaster. Heh. he's a bard. Most of his offensive spells won't likely work on bosses though ice storm should be decent. With stoneskin, the drgaon should do soemwhere in the neighbourhood of 25-30 damage in my experience. "like using that effect on custom weapons also." HAHAHA! That's possible? R00fles!
  18. Stoneskin. It's your friend. Getting your ac around 35ish means he will miss time to time. Teahc him a lesson, and use his own trick by casting regen. Summons could help (I only used Mord's. (Greater) Heroism, and other spells really help to boost your offensive capabilities. GH is I think probably the most underrated new NWN2 spell (well, it was in the IE games too). Very useful.
  19. No. It's wayyyyyyyyyyyy easier than Firkragg. Heck, it's easier than every NWN dragon except maybe a couple of them. And, don't get me started on the blacks. They wer ebeyond a joke. Big Red's best ability was its regen spell. That's what seemed to get me in the first fight (outside of my own laziness). Does it matter if your PC is a rogue? Use the other party members!
  20. The red dragon was pretty easy. Took a couple of tries because the first two times I just rushed in after wasting 99% of my seplls beforehand. It also didn't help that I had way too many fire based offesnive spells memorized. Hahaha. Anyways, fire immunity is your friend. Read my earlier post in this thread about my encounter with Big red. He was probably my 3rd most challenging battle in the game though he's the only battle I died twice at (and I only died 4 times total). Wish he was a little harder though. I want to feel the need to beg for mercy.
  21. "As far as Chris Rock goes, could you point out an instance of him being racist towards white people in the same way as Kramer or Mel Gibson?" Absolutely. It's obvious. Don't get me wrong. his jokes - even his racist ones - can be funny; but the guy is racist. Or at least he acts like one to get the cheap laugh. Let's face it, if a white person made even a quarter of Rock's type of jokes they'd definitely be labeled as racist and rightfully so. You can be funny like Chris Rock and still be racist.
  22. Yes, that seems to work. One of my major beefs is now dealt with. Now just gotta beat up the camera. LOL
  23. "graphics is that it looks a bit like Lego. Sure, the pieces fit snugly into place, but you can still see it's made out of blocks." Like Sand said, it's NWN2. It uses the same absed engine. I'm sure the graphics engine itself while totally 'new' is based off ther Aurora hence the same kind of look depsite NWN2 looking much better (as it should). Why people are surprised by this, I don't know. "Spell effects are cool, especially new "summoning familiar" is much better than it was in NWN1. Meh, all of them are." I dunno. While NWN2's spell effects are much flashier many of them I wouldn't term them 'better' than NWN1's. NWN1 had and still has awesome spell effects.
  24. He went for a block so the guy couldn't get reach the QB. If what he did was so horrible; the refs would have nailed him.
  25. "Even healthy, the Giants weren't "great". I have a feeling were using different expectations for great. They were/are likely a playoff team, but I never thought they were a super bowl type team like many people were hinting at pre-season." That's because you are silly. The Giants are (well were without all the injures) a Super Calibre team. Their offense is as good as anyone's and while their pass defense isn't the best; they quite possible have the best one-two punbch for defensive ends. Of course, they're both injured now. LOL Considering their biggest weakness on offense is their QB who is pretty damn good says a lot. "That twit on the donkey's went for his knee's. He had every right to be pissed, however he did not handle himself well." The 'twit' did nothing wrong. Nice try though.
