"it simply seems to Gromnir that some reviewers is working real hard to give nwn2 a bad review." Absolute nonsense with no real facts to back it up. I mean 'Oblivion envy', 'payback for NWN1?', or 'bg1 to bg2 comparisons'... Where do you come up with this crap? Basically, its' nothihng more than them not agreieng with yoru exact opinion of NWN1. I remember when a set of people (a handful who think they are the majority) cheered when Gamespy (or was it Gamespot) had put NWN1 onto their 'most overrated games' list as they saw it as vindication for hating NWN1. LOL And, when it wa spointed out the reason why it was on the list because the writer felt that the toolset was overratee; but they still loved the actual shipped campaign; they cried some more. R00fles! In essence, reviews are reviews. Soem we agree with; others don't. Heck, one of my favorite NWN1 reviews was the Codex one and they (meaning SP) trashed it more or less. There is no grand conspiracy against NWN2. Most of the reviews - as per usual - have been 8+. Did you really expect EVERYONE to give it the same exact score you would? L0LLERZ! Perosnally, the NWN2 OC campaign is around an 8 for me.. slightly higher than NWN1 OC... as for the entire game, TBD. NWN2 does some things better (companiosn being the one aside from the enforced nature); but NWN1 does the combat challenge and non linearity better)... The biggest thing for me with NWN2 is not that some things were done wrong; is that the things it did wrong it did wrong majorly ie the way it goes about forcing companiosn on. I disliked this method in both KOTORs as well as JE; but NWN2 has taken the annoyance factor to a whole new level. Thankfully, many of the other problems are being fixed as we speak. Good on Obsidian for that. I expected NWN2 to improve on 99% of NWN1's aspects. Too high of an expectation? Possibly; but meh. However, a sequel should auto do that. BG2 did in basically every way. FO2 did (despite the whining of the FOF,a nd the recycled story). Instead of that, I got an OC that is slightly better (but better nontheless), and a toolset that is improved in many, many ways; but seems to have been organized sloppily. Thankfully, I got the boardies to help me out in trying to master it. "Stop discussing me, and start addressing my topics and you may yet restore your credibility, as your accusatory and caustic posts have nothing to do with the topic in hand which was in the form of questions no less - lightyears from the conversation you seem to be having with yourself about another time and place." Sarge is one of the few people who don't mind getting their hands dirty even more than me. In fact, his posts are littered with more flames than most posters. That's what makes him cool. Don't worry about his torlling. Have fun with it! :joy:

"radial menu is terribly slow and unwieldy for virtually all mp situations (feel better?)" Total utter bull. You apparantly never played NWN MP - eitehr PW or small groups if you think the radial menu is so 'unweildy' in MP for you. Also, none of this chnages the fact that puase can be rtaher sueful and people *do* use it in MP. Period.

Can you print screens in toolset, and if so, where do they go? I can't seem to find them with my other NWN2 pics?
-
Soul, there's a thread for professional threads already.. Fer shame.

No less constructive than most of the posts in this thread which do nothing but talk about pee and weiners (damn censor). R00fles!

"Either way, one would have a hard time proving that the guy wasn't swinging the Wiimote around like a madman." Doesn't matter. The strap shouldn't be snapping. Poor workmanship on part of Nintendo is what caused the accident to occur. They should pay for both the strap and tv.
-
"All NWN1 portraits were crappy." Nintewndo should pay for the tv. They seem to have done a very poor job with their controller straps which directly led to the tv being broken.
-
"All NWN1 portraits were crappy." No.

" please try to imagine pws with more than a dozen folks on a server, not necessary in same location. interface gotta work for everybody. " Not all NWN MP takes place in a PW, Little One tm.

"Are you saying you cannot change where that point is?" Yes. "The biggest issue I have had so far (which isn't too much. Stupid life has interferred with my toolset work) is the undo implementation." I had the same problem, however just use delete (keyboard). Select the object you want,a nd then press delete. Works like a charm. "Same as NWN1. What's new is you can control the height of the point the camera rotates around: ctrl + shift + left click + drag." Same? Think not. I was able to change the the specifc area the camera angled around much easier. Without thinking aboiut it much, actually. Thanks for the extra tip though it sounds kinda of wasteful taking 4 buttons to do it. "ctrl + c, ctrl + v. At least it works for me." Cool. I'll try it. "I want to see the area you made. Give me pictures, damnit!" Ok. But, not really fancy. It's just a walled town (well.. closer to a village since there's like 8 buildings). Not much of note. But, ok.

The NWN2 toolset while awesome and more powerful than the NWN1 version (as it should be) sure has a weird way of showcasing that power. Some more examples: 1. I have no idea how to make sure the camera doesn't get fixated on one specific point of the map. Every time I rotate it, it remains focused on the one point no matter making it much harder to zoom in all various areas. And, no, I have no placeables currently selected. 2. It's too bad you can't (or I seem to be missing it) copy placeables/creatures you modified in your area/module/campaign either using the properties page or right clicking it. Youa ctually can only seemingly do so from the toolset list of stuff. Not as convenient, imo. 3. One cool thing is how easy it is to connect modules within a campaign. Really nice. 4. My next big thing to learn is how to get the world map going. That should be fun. Overall, I like the toolset so don't mind too much if I share criticism. The good stuff is good so no need to whine about it. Heh.

Is that the best you got?
-
Sure it is. For small group campaigns led by a DM. game over. Only an idiot would think there is no practical pause in MP. Period.
-
Weird. NWN2 took pausing out of MP? Hmm... That's just dumb. That is if youa ctually know what youa re talking about and have tried MP in NWN2. I'd be surprised if you couldn't pause in MP *unless* the host disabled it. The option is likely still there. If it isn't, that's foolishness.

Volourn's Wowwy Journey With NWN2:Spoiler Edition

"Here's a guy who's entire life purpose was to destroy the King of Shadows, and when he finally gets to it, he defects? THAT is stupid." Hey, it's possible for Sand to betray the PC and NW simply because of Qara and books. LMAO Sand doesn't really seem like the jealous type. And, oh, does anyone know what excuse Khelgar gives for joining the KOS (if he does)? Or Grobnar? Or other npcs? -
"The problem being is that with each quest there is no chance of failure except for the trial quest. There should always be an option for failing a quest. Imagine if we failed to retrieve any of the components of the cure. I think that could have been an interesting story venue which Bioware would not go down. If there is no chance for failure what is the point of succeeding?" Absolutely; but how many games actually allow you to fail quests like that? Very few, and besides that has nothing to do with the discussion going on. How many quests in BG2 could you 'fail'? Not too many, that's for sure.

This is why pl;ayers shouldn't have lopyalty to fans 'cause fans tend to only have loyalty to the ti teams. Oiler fans *never* liked Pronger. They only liked him because he was playing for the Oilers. He played hard, and heart for them all the way to the Finals. Then again, the fact that they likely won't make the Finals without him, and he's doing awesome with his new team probably gets udner their skin too. If only the Oilers had treated him well enough to keep him happy enough to stay; there wouldn't be this mess. Don't worry Oiler fans. NY has done the same thing in the past too. Every team has. You reap what you sew. You treat players poorly, they will eave or demand a trade. With every boo it makes it even clearer that Pronger made the right decision to get out of a town full of ungratefuls who didn't really appreciate him as a player or as a human being. *shrug*

Canada Parliament recognizes Quebecers as a nation
Volourn replied to kumquatq3's topic in Way Off-Topic
I wish Quebec would just leave, and be done with. It be a struggle for Kanada at firts; but it would manage. Quebec has proven time, and time agaon to be too bigoted for this great nation. -

How can NWN be 'Diabloish' and not NWN2 when they have the same combat system pretty much? R00fles! -
My first area is complete.... YAY!

"A which will allow me to play hundreds of other games." You own 100s of xbox games? WOWSERS!

"Bake the area." Hehe. is that it? In my practice mod, I baked the area. I thought not baking ana rea meant the character couldn't move art all, and I wanted to see if that's true. I guess the opposite is. Hehe. Cool. Thanks.
