  1. Judge Hades, there is some truth & realism to your point of view, but you are taking those cynical truths and turning it into an extremist way of living/viewing the world. You have given up hope and the heart to even leave open the option to help other people outside your own small circle, and that path, IMO, leads to self-immolation at some point or another - not only for yourself but for the world at large if everyone succumbed to it. As to Iraq - I think we shouldn't have gone in with guns blazing, 9/11 or not - I was pretty disappointed when fear after 9/11 had so many public polls saying we should go stomp 'em out, as if you could get rid of terrorism that way - but now that we're in it, I don't think we should just up and leave them to chaos, either. But I do think Bush is a stupid self-serving ignoramus who will probably fumble and bungle the situation, and I wish it would end.
  2. Like these? Playing portrait Character-creation pick-a-portrait screen P.S. - I put up a zip file of all 15 male PC's pick-a-portrait screens in the reference section of my gallery. Females to follow. Link in sig.
  3. He said it wasn't the in-game picture, which is essentially the portrait next to your name in smaller-size. I don't remember them being different except via LS/DS. (edit - maybe I'm misunderstanding what he meant by in-game faces tho..) In any case, they're very small files. Perhaps he wants it for an avatar? (not hard to do)
  4. I'm unclear what you mean by a portrait. Do you mean just screenshots with your chosen character in it? Standing still? Action? Saber carrying? I could try to put that 'face' to a character in a save game via the editor and take a few, but requests like these are difficult because other people are rarely ever going to take a screenie akin to what you're actually envisioning inside your own head. edit - if you're really desperate, you're better off buying the PC version, downloading the editor, and making your own.
  5. I just liked Tumnus because he was the only character that had any emotional character development in Narnia - hence I cared about his character. After him, it was just stupid wisecracking beavers, chases, and sword waving etc. and I couldn't have cared less about any of them - not even Aslan. I thought the Snow Queen was ok...but she played it too over the top evil step-mother like and was not how I personally pictured her from reading the book.
  6. Chiming in on the "I saw Narnia" bandwagon. I didn't think it sucked - but it is a kids movie...and a Disney one at that. Not horrible, starts off ok, but a little too long for it's style and the middle/end was pretty slipshod. There were some funny moments. Mr. Tumnus was well done. Mostly, it's a 'cute' movie. I'd give it a C+
  7. I don't have any ipod vs other advice, but if you're mostly interested in something that will play mp3's that you make yourself, you don't need an Ipod...any ol mp3 player with enough memory & 'features' for your purposes will do. If you want more of the interactive/internet stuff as well, ipod is currently king, tho I think Consumer Reports has reviewed a few others to decent effect.
  8. After a little Googling I'd say $28.99-29.99 is the average/typical price these days for new. That doesn't count store sales discounts, which no one here can predict. Just call around and see what their prices are at the time you want to buy.
  9. Nar Shadaa, because the idea of civilizations reaching that point of skyscraper/over-teched living creeps me out, like the environment of the film 5th element etc. :D
  10. I like what Disciple (prolly Handmaiden too, certain events are somewhat dialogue-duplicated) says before you go off by yourself. Not romantic persay, but certainly gives you the impression he cares more than he's saying. But yeah, the game at most gives you a few hints drowned in melodrama-dialogue - nothing that will even remotely satisfy a desire for character-romance. Any romance has to be a product of self-imagination. *cough*
  11. We just have clouds and moderately chilly temps. I bet a lot of people went up to Tahoe to ski tho. And just in case there's 1 person who hasn't seen it yet...
  12. Is that a black stripe down that dog's back or did you perform impromtu surgery with that sword one day? :D hehe...that's the only way to eat a box of chocolates.
  13. For some reason that makes me think of Linus and his countdown to Beethoven's birthday. Brrr...who's having a white Xmas? (not me)
  14. Of course they did...or will...it's a staple!
  15. We're not into presents persay...but my mother gave me her collection of 1960's Peanuts books. Could be valuable one day. And one of hubby's bosses got him some cordless headphones. Which I might steal. haha
  16. Wishmaster2, because Sci-Fi channel is playing a lot of really bad movies for Xmas.
  17. Yo ho ho and a bottle of eggnog! Merry Xmas to all.
  18. Going to see Syriana this weekend...from here and elsewhere I don't expect a lot, but I must...see...Cooper... Did anyone see Jarhead or Capote? I missed those and I guess I'll have to wait for DVD.
  19. Hehe...a dancing blue meanie with a heart of platinum. :D
  20. Ooooo.....kitten cuteness!!! Although that one on the left is little odd looking... :D
  21. Not you...didn't say you specifically did, either. But.... Trying to answer the question usually implies helping someone understand. Telling them to Google and then closing the proverbial door might achieve that too.
  22. So who made the little Frappr forum...fess up... Edit - guess it's a new Frappr feature...there's one in every spot.
  23. Somehow, I don't think those explanations will help a young child understand, very well. Maybe something more like "The space between water molecules gets bigger when water freezes." Perhaps not technically accurate but a little easier to comprehend the basic idea for children? Then you can tell them to go Google if they want more exactness. "
  24. Re-watching Pharaoh's Army and drinking a bottle of red wine. Great little Civil War period film. *raises glass*
  25. And I thought mine was fairly high. I used to be such a ST geek...stuff like that is what got my score up there. But at least I never wore pointy ears!
