The Road was memorable. I like it when films aren't all happy happy...if they're done well, and that one definitely was. That film & A History of Violence were enough to convince me Viggo Mortensen could actually act outside of the bigger-than-life fame of LoTR.

I find James Cameron's descent into becoming a director of predictable, humdrum, mega-million movies terrifying.

Makes sense to me...that's exactly how I become/feel.

I was unimpressed with just the preview they keep showing in the on-demand list screen. I watched a 2004 movie called A Home at the End of the World. Kinda slow/quiet but I liked it a fair bit. It's a strange yet touching film chronicling many years of two best friends and eventually a sort of love triangle/non-traditional family unit.

ME2 doesn't seem to have native gamepad support so hubby is trying FO3. Watching him struggle through the intro/tutorial section, I have a feeling he won't last long with that one. Keep telling hubby he's obviously geared to be a console gamer (likes gamepads/hates keyboard-mouse, couch, big TV, action oriented) and should buy a console but so far he refuses. Myself...not playing anything. I think I'm 'gamed out' for a while.

What are oatcakes? Biscuits/bread made of oats? I still almost never eat breakfast. Maybe a piece of toast occasionally. Today I spent an hour bent over a rice cooker filled with water, in order to steam out my nose. Winter+artificial heat=dry sinuses and very very bad allergy/post nasal drip issues. Time to sign my life away for some more Sudafed. Sigh.

And Sting in plastic green undies! .... I bet he'd give a lot to take that job acceptance back... I liked the sci-fi mini-series better in terms of comparing it to the book (not that it's saying all that much) but the movie version had Stewart, Sting, Jurgen Prochnow (I think he made a great Duke), Brad Dourif , Richard Jordan and all these other people I love in tiny roles so...it wins.

My seemingly ever worsening allergy-clogged & post-nasal drippy voice is beginning to make me sound like some low-pitched witch of the west. It's cool and annoying at the same time. ...it's been pretty uneventful this week. Hubs had the long weekend and was playing video games, while I....actually, I barely remember what I did all weekend. It's all a blur.

That was fast. Ok then...so maybe not so much for hubby. That's ok, means I don't have to share.

I was at BestBuy purchasing a microphone...apparently I should have bought a microphone headset...but this USB thing should work...anyway while there I also bought ... Fallout3 and MassEffect2. They were on sale, why not. None of the other games I'm waiting for are even close to being released yet far as I know... Not quite playing either of them yet, but they're on that shelf when I want them. Or maybe hubby would like ME2. He's been playing Borderlands again...he doesn't like tons of reading/rpg decision making but did ok with Kotor2...is ME2 kinda like that in terms of action vs. dialogue? Moreso? Less so?

Cat likes to steal neighbors clothes/shoes etc. (there's video links in the article) I'm glad we didn't move to San Mateo...I'd be wondering where all my sponges went.

Enquirer or not, pancreatic cancer is no laughing matter. If he's undergoing more treatment he could definitely have lost a lot of weight etc. Whether he only has weeks to live remains to be seen...but I hope he beats it. I may not love iEverything but he seems an interesting man and I'd hate to see the world lose him. Then again, such is life. But this WSJ blog mentions that Obama met with Steve Jobs (and others) yesterday, so Jobs can't be quite on death's door yet. Interestingly, it was held in Woodside...if I'd known that I could have gone there and watched the limos from some distance street corner and probably be arrested by Secret Service men for being suspiciously stalker-like.

Is it too M. Night Shamalayan? Hm. I'm not sure what exactly is too M.Night, but if you're talking about lame twist endings....no, not really, nothing like that. It's pretty straight-forward concept w/no more than the typical "who dun it/who is it" than any other suspense or light horror type film. I'm not sure if the LOL's I had were supposed to be there, tho...I just tend to giggle a lot re: the over-dramatic reactions that are in most such films. Half the fun...

Thanks for that info, J.E. I like the sound of explosives that are more...explosive, especially if it includes hand grenades. I love the masses of grenades enemeis use in the IWS mod but they're hardly a big threat...this could be interesting! :D Oh I'd love to be able to try that out just once. It would probably make me cry, but I'd still love it. Speaking of the IWS mod, which relies on NVSE for it's main spawning capabilities (no NVSE means it'll only spawn a little bit of extra baddies), there's a thread in the beth forum re: a supposedly conspicuous absence from the NVSE creators. eg, they're not responding to emails and such. So people are a bit worried that it may not be updated again. But we're all hoping they're just on vacation or something.

Ooo Ooo Ooo, that looks useful. I play without the HUD on at all or only at 1 'bar' of visibility, because I can't stand staring at it all the time. Ruins the look, ruins screenshots...the only time I miss the HUD is when I'm trying to pick things up or tell if something is red/theft w/no crosshair-text....so I could use only 1 bar of visibility but use this mod to turn it entirely off when I don't need to read stuff. (I'd still use no HUD period for videos...) Thanks for the link!

Devil (that elevator movie). Not what I was expecting and I kinda liked it. Not saying it was great but it was entertaining and I liked the fact it wasn't about gore. Plus it made me LOL several times. Also, Logan Marshall-Green as "Tony" was pretty cute, which always helps movies like this, imo.

Can't be even a little more specific than that? You're such a tease. I'm too much a control freak for mods like that. One at a time for me. Plus I've been lucky enough that I don't need many "fixes"...either I don't have the issue or don't see what other's don't like as being an "issue" in the first place. I like making my own mods that suit my personal taste better, anyway. IWS/BooneWarnFix/Umpa/NPC Spawner/one clothing mod/CHA multiple companions and sandbox mod are still the only non-me made mods I use. I try others now and then but invariably end up deleting them. Picky picky picky.....

The AM Rifle I only tried once. Too slow for me and frankly I never needed its power. Basically the bullet version of the Gauss. ------------------------ No one shot lasers from their eyes, I was disappointed.

Aww but they're so cute when they swarm. Yeah that bug annoys me. It was enough where I finally GECK'd some created companion gear to give them massive poison resistance (they have 30ish by default, I give them 300). Seems to work. If the next patch fixes the bug I'll get rid of the cheat-amount of resistance. I think sometimes PrintScreen you can get the 'screenshot saved' in the image, but it works well enough most of the time. But I still prefer FRAPS. Such a useful little program.

The ones around Jacobstown area or Red Rock? The one's nearish Jacbstown were easy for me because of the relatively open terrain. The ones next to the Great Khan town, that narrow twisty pathway was more troublesome because I'd packpedal and get stuck on some rock. That campground wasn't too bad either, if you approached cautiously. I think it's really mostly to do with what weapon you're using. If you're doing run & gun real time close up tactics, the 12.7SMG is great fun..

Cazzies can be troublesome if you're lvl 1 with a 9mm, or if you attract too many at once. But 2-3 at a time isn't generally a problem. Wings, backpedal, fast gun. I've heard flamers are great against them too, or dynamite from a distance. But never used those.
