  1. Had some pizza, watched some TV. Then hubs went to bed and I went into my computer room, put on some headphones, and am currently trying really hard not to repeatedly sing along to "Puff the Magic Dragon" - at least not too loudly - but with limited success. Headphones are great for making your loud music not bother anyone else, but they don't do anything to help against one's out of tune singing.
  2. I had forgotten I wanted to check out "Almost Human" - or more accurately, I had forgotten it was going to exist - so I watched the first couple episodes tonight. The pilot was ok overall, the 2nd episode a little better. A bit klunky in parts but it has promise. The dialogue for the type of show -sci-fi buddy-cop procedural, really - seems a bit above current norm, and Karl Urban is always at least likable. That said, Urban (and almost everyone else) are, imo, utterly and completely eclipsed every time Michael Ealy is on screen. His humor, occasional pathos and developing character are the awesome. Then again, I tend to like artificial lifeform chrs. (books, film, TV), so maybe I just have a pleasant bias. The only redeeming factor of CSI Miami is getting to giggle at Mr. Red. He's like a modern-day William Shatner with a gun instead of a phaser. And sunglasses. CSI: Vegas was great to good for 5-6 seasons then slowly fell...and fell...CSI:NY's first season was decent/ok, but it went bad fast after that.
  3. Not that I don't understand anyone not noticing them - because they're on-screen for all of about 1 second in a quick camera pan - but they are in the teaser trailer.
  4. I believe logging into the backer site and doing its thing gives folk the option to pledge more/get some of those things as "add-ons."
  5. I'm glad the K doesn't have a circle around it, because then I'd constantly be thinking about Circle-K convenience stores and wanting jerky and a slushie or something.
  6. I was hoping for late Fall 2014, but I guess winter-ish works too. Something to do when it's cold and icky outside. I'd find Spring 2015 acceptable, if not exactly ideal, as well. Just so long as it doesn't become Blizzard's version of "when it's done." I'm not sure I could wait 5 years or some such - well, I could, but it wouldn't make me happy...altho, on the bright side, if that were to occur, it might come right about when I'd need a serious pick me up for reaching the big 5-0! Would still rather have it much (much) sooner, however.
  7. Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges .... I wonder why the gold ones don't say VIP. The KS page said "gold VIP badge" and the silver ones have the VIP. Instead it says "gold," which isn't as cool sounding. I've been gypped, gypped I say. I may have to sue.
  8. I like music that builds to a crescendo and has ups and downs in pacing over the course of the song (I also like choir bits). Thus *I* liked the trailer music and thought it was good. It fits the "game coming! get excited!" push of a trailer and seemed appropriate to me. Does this mean I want soundtracks to have nothing but similar tunes/or all bombastic pacing? Of course not. And I don't expect P.E./Justin is going to do that. More typically, there will be some pieces in the game/by any composer that one will love, some pieces one will like and some that one can take or leave. Judging someone's capability to make music one may personally like from a single song or two seems rather ... premature. There's also the factor that (for me at least) many of my favorite songs became my favorite songs because of the memory I associate with them - what I was doing/experiencing at the time I heard them. A great movie scene. A fun combat moment in a game etc. If I had just heard them on the radio while driving to the store it wouldn't have stuck in my head to any degree, if you know what I mean. Some of my faves are songs I actually disliked at first until I listened to them over and over again. I try to stay open minded and not lock myself too much into a narrow list of "must-haves" when it comes to music. Except country. I still haven't been able to make myself like more than a handful or two of country songs. Anyway, from the earlier examples and now the trailer, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what Justin comes up with in the final soundtrack - even if I end up not liking every single track.
  9. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - what I want is for this game to be designed, from the ground up, with the KB/mouse potentials in mind. Example: I want an inventory system that isn't about scrolling down some long list. That inventory system games like Borderlands, Skyrim, etc. tend to use? Do not want and I sure hope P.E. won't have it. At any rate, once the game is made, if Obsidian then wants to take a look and try to recreate/redesign some control designs to port it to a console/controller friendly version, that's well and fine. But I don't want a game that tries to cater to both types of control/UI demands and ends up being some kind of ugly mashup that isn't ideal for either and thus pleases no one very much. As others have said, one of the aspects of the Kickstarter was that they wanted to create a PC game, without having to think about the constraints of console limits/requirements/legal stuff and it's extremely unlikely they'd suddenly change their stance for P.E. and decide to design the game for consoles for its initial release, let alone for the next generation of consoles.
  10. Couldn't decide what phrase or whatever that I'd want to put on my P.E. "in game memorial" option, so I decided to sleep on it. I've now slept, and I still can't decide. A cat joke, perhaps?
  11. Some mourn in somber reflection. Some celebrate a life that was. Often with the latter style, while there's also some somber moments, laughing, joking, and even dancing is done/accepted. They're just...different ways of coming to terms. It doesn't always have to be about being super serious. And as BruceVC said, a memorial service is often a very different thing than the actual funeral service (in my head anyway).
  12. Pan-fried some cheap steaks (garlic, sugar, soy sauce, jalapenos), sliced them up into thin strips, put them on sandwich. I could have used some mushrooms to go on top, but I didn't have any. But it still tasted swell, in that cheap, ez-meal kind of way. I have simple desires most of the time, when it comes to food. It just has to have a lot of spice/flavor. eg, I'm not the boiled meat and potatoes type.
  13. Busy forum. Busy bee. But now I am quite sleepy. For most of the rest of this month, my days will hopefully consist of doing as little as possible of that which requires me to do anything remotely related to shopping. It's a madhouse out there, I tell ya. Simply maaaaaaaaddddddd.
  14. You can use any name you want, whether your real name or a childhood nickname or your forum name etc, as long as it wouldn't be deemed "offensive" or potentially libelous or something, if you know what I mean. Example: I use my forum member name.
  15. I assume it's the taking a "selfie" thing, which was what Walsh's link a few posts above was about. That or the notion that Michelle might have been jealous. I don't understand the "selfie" thing myself, as long as they weren't doing it in the middle of someone's eulogy speech or something. But I didn't see it, so...whatever.
  16. I must admit I'm not overly fond of the separate and stacked 'K' badge. I probably would have preferred something more like ... have only one badge icon, a bit bigger than they are now, but with two versions: one with a small green K in one corner and one without. Or something like that. Still, not too big a deal. Side by side would work too, as long as it doesn't mean an increase in the member-info column's width parameter. I don't personally want that column to be much wider anymore than I like the extra stacked space.
  17. Thanks for those quotes/info, Sensuki. It sounds (just from those quotes) like Sawyer is pretty interested in having more goals/expanding the game, to make sure it doesn't feel "cramped" etc. Which I can understand. I was not personally expecting P.E. to be a long game to begin with...but one that would still be dense and fleshed out for its size/length. Not everything has to be epic-sized or whatever in order to be very satisfying or feel like a proper heir to a tradition. But if they feel like adding these things would help ensure the main game won't feel cramped/short to players, I guess I'd be in favor of it.
  18. I finally got past the error message and got mine to work some minutes ago. Guess they finally whipped those hamsters enough! ...I was using Firefox, btw. Didn't try anything else.

Hello everybody, among the fine folks in the kickstarter comments we discussed a possibility to help Obsidian increase the funding of the game a little bit. We actually talked about an idea that showed up earlier on Kickstarter during the funding of the adventure game Leisure Suite Larry and became a tradition for adventure kickstarters (Want the whole story? Check this). We think this a great idea and we know, Obsidian fans are some of the most passionate gamers in the world. So we decided to start THE OBSIDIAN ORDER OF ETERNITY. How do I become a member? Actually, it's quite simple: Upgrade your pledge by 8 $ and you're in. Yes, it's really that simple. You don't have to pass a test, you don't have to choose a specific tier. The Obsidian Order is open to everyone as long as s/he adds this small fee of 8 $. If you've done so simply expand your Kickstarter-Username with "- Obsidian Order" and start commenting on Kickstarter. Proudly demonstrate your membership to this very special order of the most devoted Obsidian fans and help spreading the word about our movement among all backers of Project Eternity! Why exactly 8 $? Because 8 stands for Eternity. What do you get in return? The feeling of being a special fan amongst some already extraordinary people. Yes, it's a matter of fandom, passion and love. There is no physical or digital reward in it. Don't feel impelled to do so, this is just our way to demonstrate our love for that kind of CRPGs. Some additional words Backers of the 10.000 $ tier who are technically inable to increase their pledge are honorary members from the beginning, because they've already beaten the system. You guys really got it. So, no reason to feel sad, Notch. So now, who stands with us? Farudan, Caretaker of the Obsidian Order http://northharbour....der-of-eternity
  21. With the new influx of members etc, I think it's finally time for a fresh thread!
  22. Sadly I think that might be... I'm whipping the hamsters but they don't look amused! If the whip isn't working, try dangling some some giant sunflower seeds or broccoli from a string in front of their noses!
  23. I became all excited because I thought this had to be the problem, because while I'd noticed the drop down effect for "Country", for State I'd managed to type in CA and it stuck. So I waited for the dropdown and it had "California" instead, so I used that and... ...it still didn't work. Heh. Oh well.
  24. I think it's less about a potential month or three of delay as it is about for what, exactly would the delay be for. Or, as others have mentioned, if it turned into something like a year or more of delay. Basically, some of us like having more information before committing an opinion. I like this idea/thought, too.
  25. I'm undecided, but I probably feel close to what Sensuki and Lephys said early on. More content/stuff is always awesome, but I also don't want the game to be delayed extensively for something like another companion or two. So it would depend how much time delay is involved, if any at all, vs. the actual content gained. If the vote/decision comes down to having more stretch goals, however, I'd probably pick "more (scripted) companions" over wilderness, since imo more companions = better potential replay value than another area that on replays I'll have already explored, if you know what I mean. Not that I wouldn't want both...but if I had to pick just one of those options.
