  1. I have to travel this weekend. I hate flying but driving takes too long for this sort of trip (investment related stuff). Blargh. Is that that drinkable food stuff? I saw a guy in a YT vid a while back, experimenting with it. Not sure I could live on that sort of thing. Not the same nutrition wise, but I've done the nutrition shakes and the lemon-cleanse fast thing in the past. You can live on them a while, but I decided I like solid food.
  2. It has gotten a bit annoying, that. And I say that as someone who's posted plenty of self-pics at times. I find it amusing that social media had to coin such a cutsie phrase for self-portrait, too.
  3. Heh. To be a little fair, our infrastructure is generally poorly equipped in many areas for stormy weather. Drains, power, housing design, soil consistency etc. Which is why a little storm can knock our power out and cause minor flooding via backed up storm drains in no time, if rain is constant for a day. 3-5 inches over a day or two can be a fair percentage of annual city rainfall, and the one time I recall this area having significant flooding (parked cars high-flooded height) was from 7-10" of rain over 3 or 4 days, I think. Maybe it was less...it was over 3 decades ago, barely remember.
  4. Now I'm intensely curious why you circled out your face. The hair looks fine/nice, tho.
  5. Welcome, love your excitement. Most of the videos are probably from those playing the backer-beta - people who pledged enough during the Kickstarter period to be in a tier where backer-beta was one of the rewards. I've only played it a tiny bit myself, since I don't want to spoil too much until release. Release date at this point, last I knew/noticed, will be in "early 2015." http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/68878-pillars-of-eternity-early-2015-beta-feedback-and-game-polish/
  6. If you put some sculpting gel on top, would it look anything like Puck from Glee? I still think one day I'm going to just start shaving my head, and damn how it looks. And believe me, I probably would not be the most attractive bald woman.
  7. lulz. SF Gate blurb: Are we storm wimps Also: Funniest thing on the news: a not-tall femalereporter standing on dry land by a deep puddle, who then proceeded to step into puddle, talking about how water came up higher than her ankles (as an example of how much rain).
  8. Read they haven't closed that many schools in over a decade or something? I suppose California has so little severe weather in most areas/times that anything out of the ordinary seems extraordinary. Anyway...hope anyone in the areas that are hit with actual flooding stay safe. Myself, I think I'm going out to play in the puddles for a bit. Camera/video in tow. I'll stay away from major roads/won't be going far, however. It's madness out there.
  9. It's a fairly common one over on rpgcodex I think? Still, it's not one we're terribly fond/like to use here. It's easily misunderstood, understandably so. Just saying.
  10. @Woldan ... yeah. Every time there's a storm like this, certain areas get river flooding (sometimes pretty bad), and sometimes landslides in the hills but the general "panic/news" is always a huge over-reaction. They are closing a big/main SF road tho...something about a levy flooding maybe. Not sure.
  11. But I have it pretty easy. ...a storm can never compete with...
  12. It's too windy to sleep, so here I am instead. Our yard's a bit of a mess, yah? The Storm of the Century, it's starting! (not my pics)
  13. According to Twitter, power is going out all over the place as the storm moves across. The power better not go out here (for more than an hour anyway). Whatever would I do....hrumph. I'd so die in an apocalypse. Dangit, do I have flashlight batteries?
  14. Wind blew the garbage bin over. Haha. All of a sudden I can't see YT embeds at all on the forum. I've updated Firefox, I've updated Flash, I've updated Win7, I've allowed all scripts, etc. all in an attempt to battle a rash of weird browser behavior. Nothing's working. It's fine one session, wonky the next. *shakes fist at FF, Adobe, and general computer gremlins" Closed/restarted FF, now I can see them again. For now. I need a Gremlin-buster.
  15. Yup...tis true. Dogs, however, require daily walking/good outdoor exercise. Not my thing. Nor poop-bag carrying around suburbia. I like indoor-only pets.
  16. Nope, you're not the only one. Although I do understand, when being Kickstarted, wanting certain promises/expectations to be met and all. But there's still a certain point where I think the dev's should be allowed to proceed with their own vision/s. Too many cooks and all that.
  17. Obviously probably won't ever happen, but if I did get a dog, it'd be some type/variation of the well known golden retriever. Because, y'know, they're adorable.
  18. Extra big storm supposedly coming to town. Rain, winds w/super high gust speeds, blah blah. They even closed the schools, don't think they've done that in over a decade. Seems like an over-cautious thing to do, but whatever. Our little garage's lift-door has a tendency to let in a wide puddle of water a couple feet in, due to wind direction at times, under normal heavy rains. This could get interesting. I already put hubby's power cords off the floor just in case. Told him to move anything near the front he didn't want wet. If it gets wet, not my problem. I love storms...I think I'll be standing outside in the morning, watching. Hopefully I won't blow away. Brent Spiner once said to me "That's because I am your husband", via Twitter. Granted, it's not porn star infamy, but ... but ... he replied! *geekgasm*
  19. So? It's a minecraft-y blocks+kill zombie swarms game. Graphics aren't why people play it. It does look (or feel?) a tad better when actually in-game running around...until you chop down all the trees/grass, haha. Ah...that's why they call them "Spider" zombies (climbing w/no ladders, eek). Also, didn't put spikes deep enough, so they waltzed onto the main platform...then I stupidly fell down trying to shoot them and died. Should keep them off platform better now. Started to make a weird tower over my bunker entrance, but I get belly flops (vertigo) as I go up and down the ladders+look over edges to place blocks, so I stopped. Game-vertigo seems to get worse as I get older, it's weird.
  20. Immune to indoor pollution, no gas mask needed no matter how much I burn. The temp room while I work on the main stuff What will be the underground garden area (have to dig skylights 1st...). Still working on design of it.
  21. Barn owl: "That's not a mouse." Mr. Black would also like to know how to use Amazon to order catnip.
  22. A new, warm catbed/pad, put it on floor. Cat sniffs it, looks at me funny (it's not food), walks away. (much later) Hubby comes home, comes in my den, says "your cat likes his new bed." I go look...he's lying on it all cute-like, purring and pawing and looking so kewl. It may take them a few to realize it, but they do appreciate what you do for them. Of course, by the time I grabbed a camera, he was up and following after me for attention instead. Signed, Obsessed Cat Lover
