I've always wanted to build a small "duck pond" in my backyard/s, so I can have some ducks swimming around in them. I could take up half the yard with it, build a serious oasis ... then maybe someday the migrating geese might notice it and take a migration break in my yard, too. Course, then I'd have to clean up all the goose-poop. And chase the racoons away from bathing in it all the time.

Thinking about getting D3's expansion and looking at it, but at the rate it's downloading and doing stuff, I may end up doing that (the actual playing) tomorrow. Or on Monday. My patience for downloading mega GB's worth of files every time I want to play a game gets smaller and smaller. No my internet is not super slow. But the GB's keep getting bigger and bigger...

So I realized today that the expansion is officially out now. Figured I'd download any patches first (it's been a long long time) then buy the expansion and download it. "Optimizing Game" ... does that equal a new company-speak to say "downloading/installing patches?" I hope so...since I don't really need b.net to defrag my software for me. Also, it says it's going to update the launcher to Desktop App when I next run D3. I assume that's just a new personalized Steam-like thingie or something (universal launcher not just a D3 launcher)?

So that's why the guys in white suits showed up at my door those times. I like day night cycles as long as they're not too rapid ... if it's a rpg where I'm supposed to be running around a town/forest and everyone is acting as if time is passing/there's a time clock ("A dragon roasted our town yesterday!" "This potion effect lasts 10 hours"), if there's no period of darkness, I'm going to expect to look up into the sky and see four suns or 10 moons or something. Otherwise it starts to feel weird and unnatural, even if it is just a game. I'm too trained to expect dark or light as time passes, I suppose.

Keyrock's Hopefully Attractive Rodent Thread

I have the sneaking suspicion that Joey/whatever his name is actually did the rabbit trick himself. Took it from the guy's bag and put it in Daryl's bag then waited for the spark to fly. I don't have any proof of this, it's only a suspicion based on how much effort "Joey" seems to be putting into manipulating and trying to convince Daryl they're two of a kind. I think something pretty darn bad is going to happen to Rick/Carl. The religious angle - I have suspicions on that too, but don't want to speculate. The show likes its red herrings far too much.

I think I've been pretty clear in past posts that I don't find Early Access generally appealing at this point, either. I don't have anything against the concept itself - but I don't typically want to spend on it personally. It'd have to be something I've done a lot of research on and know it already has more than a 20 minute playable pre-pre-pre-pre-alpha build. Also, the search-results thing.

Still Banished, just less and less hours. Mostly been looking at what feels like a zillion map seeds, making notes of the ones that look interesting to try at some point. Most of them suck...random map generators can be irritating at times. Also created a chr. in South Park and then started the tutorial elf fight. Then got glitched and couldn't finish the elf fight, so I quit and will reload it tomorrow. No idea if I'll get very far in the game and the movement/control feels really wonky, but figured I may as well try it at least....a couple lines have made me giggle so far.

So, can I actually get a kitty-kat?

I missed noticing that video when posted. Hilarious, especially the difference of asking the ladies vs. asking the men. I'm not sure how I'd react to a random stranger question like that ... I mean, rationally I'm fine with the concept, but actual surprised first-reaction would probably go "lulwut? no" even if it was one of my favorite male actors standing there.

That's the one I was going to mention. For some reason I really liked it, although I liked the first half more than the 2nd half. And like Malcador, I'd also say skip Zoe's Tale. Haven't read much of anything recently, so I doubt I'd know of something Tale hasn't at least heard of before, and for TV/movies ... well, I haven't been very keen on such lately. I still watch a fair bit at times, but with a growing sense of generational alienation. Or just grumpiness.

The only TMNT I remember watching was the late 80's cartoon. Which was kinda cute, but I didn't see much of it. But just enough to remember that silly theme song and to dislike the newer ways of drawing them.

I saw that recent Jason Statham movie, Homefront. It was .... a Jason Statham movie. I was a little disappointed that James Franco wasn't actually the true "bad guy" - more like the idiotic local yoohoo who thinks he'll profit from bringing in some (non-local) badguys to pester Jason. Also ... Winona Ryder? Really? Interesting. St. Elmo's Fire yw not a direct sequel, but a 'spiritual' one It's not written or directed by John Hughes. Despite having some of the same actors, I don't even consider it a spiritual sequel ... I barely remember it, actually. I don't think I thought it was awful, but it didn't have much impact on me either.

Another one I really liked, from a bit earlier, was the first 48 Hours.

I saw this article link posted elsewhere, re: potential Terminus hints from an earlier episode. Found it interesting. I rarely catch things like that myself, if only because by the time the symbolism may be relevant, I've forgotten it even existed. It's theoretical ruminations, of course. Also, spoilery if you haven't been watching this season yet. http://comicbook.com/blog/2014/03/24/the-walking-dead-were-these-paintings-about-mary-from-terminus/

Hubby is "cheap" in the way where he always feels a bit guilty when something he wants costs more than ... oh, say ... three bucks. Went to Costco today and they had a 1200w microwave for $99. He kept staring at it. Said a workmate told him how 1200w made decent frozen pot pies with the included "crisper" liner. I'm all whatever, babe. Now our old microwave is one we also bought at CostCo/Price Club for cheap .... 20+ years ago. It still works perfectly fine. But it's "only" maybe 700-800w. So walking around in the store, hubby kept mentioning the new one but how the old one still worked and how the new ones probably won't last 20 years etc. I finally went "Hon, if you want it, just get it. it's not like we haven't gotten our money's worth out of the old one." So he finally went back to put it in the cart. He's so cute. ....so we have a new microwave. Maybe I'll stick the old one in my den so I can nuke my coffee during late night gaming sessions ... oh wait, I don't drink coffee. Hm.

don't watch the sequel, it's absolutely awful There...was a sequel? I could have gone my entire life without knowing that. It wasn't 100%, but the peer groupings of Breakfast Club were definitely around when I was in (public) highschool, in spades. Was never in detention tho. Some 80's dancing was cool, but if you just went to social stuff or hung with kids at school, most of the time all you saw was that silly arm-swing motion "dancing." Like in that Terminator 1 club scene when the Terminator first finds Sara. The girl in the red skirt (and almost everyone else dancing). Sometimes when alone in a room I still do that. Habit. http://youtu.be/LTs8YnKfSsU?t=33s

^ I still have no interest in this game, but if I did try it out one day, this would be me.

There's lots of brown eggs in the grocery store. But it's true that often in movies and TV shows and ads, eggs shown tend to be the white ones so the association tends to be with those, for many. I find the only difference to be that brown eggs (sold here) seem to have a bit thicker shells. And tend to be a little smaller than the "jumbo" white eggs can be.

Yes! A hi-res .exe for Caesar3. Thank the heavens. So now instead of having to stare at this on my not 4:3 monitor: I can look at this: My visual sanity is saved!

Abraham on the show feels too much like he's being used almost as comic-relief, so far, the way the actor is playing him. It doesn't fit, for me.

Noticed I'd missed The Voice blind auditions (the only part of that show I care about) but lucky for me there's on-demand. So I watched the 1st one. For some reason it always makes me smile - the combo of the silly judge banter and the reactions of the singers when/if chairs turn. I could use some smiles today, so it was a nice way to relax, even if I can't fast forward through the filler. Also making me smile: Mushroom cat. (kitten was being tube-fed so they were using the costumes to keep kitty still)

I know this is one of many topics that can be touchy and tempers may flare, but perhaps we could try discussing differing opinions without behaving as if intelligence-slurs etc. are actually debate points.

Only my mother could make salmon and red snapper in a way that I liked them. Although I do like smoked salmon, if it's the more dry kind vs. the super-moist kind. I have no idea what's for dinner tonight, since I didn't feel like cooking. One of those fend for yourself times I think.
