  1. There's definitely a bug because even on Story Mode the fampyr and ancient fampyr fights are absurdly difficult.
  2. I tried doing the deal with Menzaggo where the slavers provide him with kith. Choosing this dialogue option immediately ended the Splintered Reef quest. But then I can't talk to Kua about it. Additionally, I killed the Wahaki leaders for Kua. But the option to ask him for advice and the option to tell him about having killed them won't go away. I'm not doing these quests for any faction (my Watcher has made enemies of everybody except the slavers and Menzaggo).
  3. Ship crew are not being killed in non-mutiny events such as keelhauling and other forms of deadly punishment. During a mutiny everybody is hostile. You kill all of your crew, but only the mutineers are actually removed from your ship. Also, should the cannibalism event have reactivity with Corpse-Eaters? Because I got that event once (and only once) with a Corpse-Eater/Bleak Walker Fanatic but there was no mention of the Watcher being a literal cannibal.
  4. Imported a save where Vela was sacrificed. She still shows up alive.
  5. the central conceit of the eora setting is that souls exist and can be harnessed and utilized. so of course everybody can do some cool soul-stuff. also, a lot of the complaints you had are just related to the limitations of video game effects. it'd be really boring and tedious if Into the Fray 's animation was just your fighter running up to an enemy and... pulling on them. with no special effects.
  6. role-playing aside, this is definitely the best take to have. the engwithans were nothing more than a society so obsessed with their own self-importance that they collectively **** themselves when they realized the universe wasn't guided by any divine hands. and instead of maturing and dealing with this new anxiety they literally committed genocide to establish a more comfortable engwithan order. and then proceded to commit even more atrocities for the next 2000 years.
  7. it's funny when people play a game in a setting that's undergoing colonization by imperial powers and get angry when a lot of the quests involve... colonial powers. and i enjoyed the fact that eothas wasn't a straight up antagonist or villain. gonna ramble here for a bit. the theme of the first game was history and the effects it has on people and entire civilizations. all the companions you meet are struggling with issues of the past, from eder's brother dying while fighting for readceras to kana trying to steer rauatai towards a better future by learning from the past. the watcher is tormented by their past. and then there's thaos, who lives "outside" of history because of his position as woedica's favored. he is the last of the engwithans, an ancient society so distraught with the lack of a solid foundation for eora (no gods) that they created one themselves. in contrast pillars 2 deals with renewal and, more broadly, change. change is inevitable when imperial powers begin colonizing regions. scientific and economic advances are made on the backs of indigenous people. the blood of the colonized becomes the food of the colonizers. colonialism causes the contradictions within indigenous cultures to be exacerbated to the point where entire cultures collapse (for example, the worsening lives of the roparu in neketaka). and then comes eothas, a wrecking-ball of change pummeling into the ancient machinery of moi gweath. and behind him is the watcher, the hound of eothas, who is placed in the difficult position of guiding this coming renewal. tl;dr eothas is more of a deuteragonist than an antagonist and that's pretty cool.
  8. When cooking food sometimes the menu lets you try to craft more food than you should be able to. For example, Mariner's Porridge costs 2 lager, 2 hardtack, 3 eggs. I have 50 lager, 113 hardtack, 3 eggs. So the display says "50/2 113/2 3/3". But if I set the amount to, say, 69, the menu displays "50/138 113/138 3/207" and it says it crafts 69 food items. Fortunately it doesn't actually craft anything so it's probably just a gui bug.
  9. Have you tried disabling and then re-enabling the ai? I did that and it seems to be working properly now.
  10. in the guidebook there's a saint described as being short, having white hair, and looking very old even from birth. everywhere he went entropy followed. no mention of horns though but that's suggestive. and there's a reference to someone from "the east" showing up tied to a ship. she had (small) antlers and a "second mouth" around her neck. and as weird as vatnir looks, skaen godlikes are even worse. no eyes, ears, nose, or lips with sharp teeth pulled into a permanent grin and covered in scars. it goes without saying that huana kill skaen godlikes at birth.
  11. so in the beta patch there's a bunch of new portraits. most of them pale elf npcs. but there's also this one in the companion folder. i think they're a rymyrgand godlike?
  12. lol it's a fun game and the bugs aren't that bad. and bugs are inevitable in a game this big anyway.
  13. I completed the quest by siding with the Woedicans. I told Kahn that Oswald was dead and she walked away. However, the journal entry still says "Return to Kahn". I'm on the latest beta patch. (Although I spoke to Kahn while on build 86.)
  14. I updated to the beta patch and imported a game in which I sacrificed Vela, acquired Bledha's poison, killed Lliras, and then gave Simoc the baby juice. Somehow Vela is alive and standing next to Eld Engrim.
  15. i feel like deadfire would have greatly benefited from an extra 1-2 weeks of bug-fixing. it's too bad the video game industry is so inflexible when it comes to deadlines.
  16. i don't know if it's my own dirty mind but reading tekehu's description i can't help but notice:"...harness...spearhead...rigid...delights in paddling...control".
  17. the fact that they named the bear trinket in that vs evil stream makes me think that these codes might end up being related to critical role in some way.
