Success! Just need to make it so you can't inspect the contract before buying it and the rest is just setting up the rest of the sailors. (And fixing the name obviously.) However, I don't know how to make them spawn on your ship. Anybody know if it's possible to just copy a prefab npc object? Like for example I could just have a copy of Ora the Mad to represent this new boatswain. (Also, lol at my Bleak Walker's 1/100 morale. She's literally killed or keelhauled most of the crew members in the base game...)

Is there a way to add new crew members to the recruitment UI? edit: I can see that the crew store information is stored in globalprefabs.unity3d. So adding a UUID to that will probably not be possible. Is there a way to have an item run a script that adds a crew member to your crew? edit 2: yep, Void AddCrewToRoster(Guid) and Void RecruitCrewMember(Guid, Guid). Going to try adding a crew member through buying an item.

My Watcher is rotating through random weapons on every fight
topologista replied to ekidhardt's question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
this would have been one awesome bug lol -
I tested the soul conversation in Ashen Maw with an imported save in which I returned the souls to the Hollowborn. But in the conversation with the Watcher's soul it says I returned them to the Wheel. Here's the save file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rhtqe95dw16qyqq/Tonaltzi%20%28FoundationsoftheAshenMaw%29%20%280f01dc46-e56c-4c54-80ff-63ccc94c70af%29%20%28LAX-ABCE%29%20%28921663974%29.savegame?dl=0

Anybody can sail into Ondra's Mortar. But without a way to navigate through the storms they're doomed. Even after you get your soul back in Ashen Maw there's still something "connecting" you to him. (I don't remember how the game describes it. Something about gaps in your own soul.) So you can basically use him as a big ol' lighthouse to sail right to Ukaizo.

Well, in this setting elves tend to live to around the 200's. Aloth is in his 60s. The only old elves you meet are Oswald and Udyne. Oswald is a living trainwreck regardless of his age. Udyne does act the way you're taking about. It's also barely addressed but most of the very powerful wizards find ways to prolong their lives. Concelhaut in the obvious way. Llengrath through sharing essence (I think?) so that "parts" of their soul lives on. Regarding history it's also worth remembering that the Leaden Key and the Hand Occult have been ****ing **** up for nearly 2,000 years.

Beta Patch Notes for Version 2.0.0
topologista replied to David Benefield's question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
ah, just found this: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/104088-modding-patch-notes-for-2000017-beta/ edit: i fixed one of my mods (which adds a lantern that's like Xoti's) by adding the line "EquipConditionals": { "Operator": 0, "Components": [] }, edit 2: somehow accidentally deleted the rest of my post. After adding the above this is what my item's EquipableGameData looks like (going backward and forward 2 lines): ... "RestrictedToClassIDs": [], "RestrictedToPlayer": "false", "EquipConditionals": { "Operator": 0, "Components": [] }, "ProficientAbilityID": "62f142c9-d40c-495b-836b-88a62603db52", "CannotUnequip": "false", ... -
Beta Patch Notes for Version 2.0.0
topologista replied to David Benefield's question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
Are there any changes to the gamedatabundle or stringtable formats that modders have to watch out for? -
I think this is the relevant shanty: Start around 1:08 for reference to what sounds like "Cape White." I was procrastinating and decided to pull up my copies of the Pillars 1 and 2 maps and made a little guess at the path from the Eastern Reach to Port Maje. obviously I condensed the distance east and north of Port Maje.

Empowered Woedica
topologista replied to Sceptenar's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Something I found really interesting was the description in the soulbound weapon Marux Amanth: tl;dr: When the Engwithans made the gods (and the Wheel?) they decided to hide the truth from them. Because of their perverse desire to be ruled by Real Gods they decided to create this elaborate fantasy where not even the gods could know that they were created by kith. You can sorta see this in the way Thaos shows deference to Woedica (?) when she was created in Sun in Shadow. And Eothas even mentions that the gods were surprised when they discovered the truth of their origin. I imagine Woedica did not like realizing that she was a simulacrum and not a genuine Real God. Rymrgand also seems to believe himself to be more than a construct. He really seems to believe himself to be the God of Entropy and not just a frost-covered bull made to frighten children. I'm curious to see if the Beast of Winter DLC will address his hubris. -
I think the bug is fixed in the 1.2 beta patch. I turned on story mode, started a fight with fampyrs on Splintered Reef, and went to make some tea. When I came back the fight was over and the log didn't show any absurd permanent domination shenanigans. Was also underleveled and my Fanatic Watcher had 3 int, 9 resolve, and a total of 57 will. She got dominated a few times but before the 1.2 patch she was basically constantly dominated.

A lot of npcs mention that the awful conditions of the roparu in the gullet is relatively new. I would argue that much of that additional suffering is coming from the Kahanga having to allocate so many resources to keeping the foreign powers at bay. Every copper spent on undermining the RDC or the VTC means another copper that isn't being spent on helping the roparu. Islands are lost to slavers (who work together with the old Principi), the RDC, or the VTC which then causes people, most of them roparu, to relocate to Neketaka. The prize share system definitely needs to allocate more resources towards the roparu. The internal contradiction of the roparu being essential for feeding and housing the other castes while at the same time being fed the least needs to be addressed. But this can't happen while outside colonial forces are applying pressure. And it's important to not just focus on Neketaka. The two other major Huana settlements, Tikawara and Satahuzi, should be considered. In Tikawara the prize share is failing because the ranga is forcibly trying to establish a settlement on an island that simply cannot sustain them. And why? Because he desperately wants the VTC to save them. (Ironically, I think he's also forcing the lagufeaeth off of land that once belonged to them.) On the other hand, Satahuzi is doing relatively well. None of the roparu there are starving. And the VTC mostly leaves them alone because of their strong leadership. When you do the coinbag quest for Rinco you can have an interesting conversation with Mokeha. If you mention that Rinco's family will starve without that money, she's shocked. Why would Rinco's ranga, the governor, let him, a "kuaru", starve? And I'd imagine that if she saw him as a roparu instead she'd still be shocked since Port Maje isn't exactly suffering from a famine. The idea that you have to buy food and housing is completely alien to her. She finds it completely absurd that any sensible society would commodify things required for survival.

looks really cool! hopefully the class mod support makes it easy to re-enable the steel garrote and woedica priest subclasses (please don't remove that data lol). Is the new enchanting ui coming in 1.2 or later?
