  1. Interview with Bioware from the first stated that specs were the reason and that hasn't changed yet.
  2. I haven't read it yet, but as he was one of the most powerful Jedi(Ok the most powerful) of his time(both times) that isn't really surprising.
  3. Some people like it, but I remember eating it as a kid. *shivers* Bleh!
  4. PST = Choose your own adventure book. It wasn't a game it was one of those sorry books where you had to turn to page 28 and read more. I've not played KoToR 2 yet as I'm pc only on this game, but Baldur's Gate was the best story they did and it was rather poor. I fear KoToR 2 may live down to the expectations(story wise) I had since I hear who Obsidian was. Edit: Felt I should qualify a bit. I purchase Fallout, F2, BG, BG2, and PST. All games that most of them were a part of. Of those the game play was always ok, but after those uninvolving stories I swore I wasn't going to buy another game from them and if it wasn't for the fact they got KoToR2 I wouldn't buy a game from Obsidian unless it was bargain bin for cheep. I have better developers to waste my money on.
  5. Likely she is only reprising her role a Bastila. One hopes at least.
  6. You forget, fear leads to the DS.fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.......I sense much fear in you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yea, but if you can force lightning your computer do you really want to bother playing the game in the first place?
  7. I can't remember where I read it/heard it, but a Lucas Arts official made a comment to the effect that a script/story outline for KoToR 3 had been written or something. I think it was some E3 interview I saw on G4TechTV. I can't remember the exact words, but it came off as something they were thinking about, but wasn't decided yet if it would go through. I really can't remember as it was months ago, but that was the impression I got from what was said.
  8. I found malak challenging not hard. And he was that because the first time I didn't know the trick to cut out his healing. Now for the way this was setup I think he was as hard as most any other bosses. It really depends on the RPG style used. For a lot of boss battles you still have your whole party so the boss battle is going to be a bit more because they are trying to balance 1 boss character vs. your whole party. KoToR 1 went the Star Wars route where the final battle is between the main boss and the main character. This was awesome because it kept it more in line with the movies. Now the one problem you did have like they state in this one is the final boss didn't match base on your character. If you went with uber fighter which would have had you lacking in other areas through the game then yes Malak is going to be a bit easier. They had him scaled so that you could win no matter your play style. Something like Diablo or fable there is only one play style and that is the aggressor. You can get to that point in different ways, magic and such, but really are getting there and got there solely through some form of combat. While that is semi-true for KoToR it is less so than the other games geared toward that.
  9. Try seeing it from the other side of the coin. They want to show you that becoming a Jedi is a "long" and hard task to complete, especially getting your lightsaber. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm really glad that is what they want to do and I would have been upset, but understanding if they made it closer to the original games 8 hours. That's almost half the game right there(17 hrs). If you hit every side quest that is available for your character type(LS/DS) could we be talking about even over 17 hours? I'll be playing a Jedi weapons master about that time(I hope so at least). Assuming that they stay about as close as the other rules to D20 then that could mean either wasting feats or choosing ones that are useless for my character design. Hopefully they will still give you the lightsaber feat at first level so you can at least buy the feats that will be useless till you get one.
  10. I had no high hopes for the story knowing who is involved so to hear it kind of limps out at the end isn't a surprise. 17 hours to get a lightsaber!? WTF? Do these people not understand why I'm playing this game and want to play a Jedi? That is over twice as long as the first game if you did all of the quests on Talis(took me 8 hours the first time to hit it all). I just really don't understand game developers sometimes. They seem to forget we are playing this game not them. It was like the mistake I made the first time I DMed, it's not just about what you want, but what the players want.
  11. The greatest thing they added is I don't have to do the turret mini-game now. I never got into the mini-games and hated that I randomly had to do the turret one. Doing the first pod racing one was fine because they made it easy and I only had to do it once for storyline reasons. I hate mini-games I'm forced to do, I really hate mini-games that are twitch in a RPG, and I extreamly hate FFX and their stupid mini-games to get all of the Legendary weapons. They make me want to kill.
  12. Because it is easier to quote myself from the other thread.
  13. First, Darth Gates doesn't set the date. They may request it, but Emperor Jar-Jar Lucas sets it. Second, the Xbox doesn't even meet the minimum specs so I don't see how HL2 will show on it till the new consoles. By then if the Cell chip lives up to half of what they are claiming it will HL2 will be on the PS3. Third, like others have said the PC version will look better and IMO will have better controls. I prefer mouse to controller on RPGs.
  14. I said it awhile back and meant it. In a mild form of protest against them(Lucas or obsidian) suddenly delaying the game by 2/3 months for the PC I will not buy nor rent the X-Box version and dissuade any one I can from doing so. As to spoilers I couldn't care less.
  15. For some of us the game is still months away. If they did the extras right I would be for paying more for a collectors edition.
  16. 2 months 15 days
  17. I get strat guides for one reason and that is so I don't miss half the things in the game. Now days it is almost impossible to find everything in a game without a strat guide or access to someone who bought one. I don't care about the character info, I just care about the fact I might have to go to the dead end and use useless item A to find the hidden door to get the chance to talk to character B 20 hrs later in the game. Because it is a pain in the rear to have to keep going back to the site. I'll pay the $20(max for most) to have the thing color printed out into a book with pictures that I can just look over at. What I hate is lately(mainly bradygames, but others have been doing it too) strategy guides have been leaving out half the information. I can't remember which game it was, but they left out half of the findable items. Saying something like well if you just look every where you'll find them, we will only list the first place you would find a new item. I'm glade they feel that stat up item isn't important to find in an area because you've already found one in another area. I buy these stupid things so I don't have to look at every inch of a game to find the items.
  18. He ran away with his tail between his legs. I love that scene. Duku is getting his butt handed to him when he tried to use force powers. Then cops with "I see this cannot be settled by our mastery of the force, but our skills with a lightsaber" = "If I keep this up you are going to hand me my butt with my own lightning." Then when he is close to loosing he quickly drops a large metal object on Obiwan and Anakin so he can scurry away like a rat from a sinking ship. lol That said I'm for Jedi weapon master depending on how close to the D20 version he is.
  19. I would hope for Revan, Bastilla, and HK. I would like to know what happened to my character and Bastilla. I can't remember the exact words right now, but I like: HK: "That is when I informed him of his meatbag status." ME: "I like that." HK: "You did then as well master."
  20. This may have come up before, but I thought I would post it incase. This sounds like I'm going to be force to do side missions where my main character isn't involved. I hate it to no end when games do that. I have a main character as someone to identify with in game and then force me to do side missions without him/her just annoys me. If this happens too often I will put me off totally from the game.
  21. I'm guessing Febuary 32nd.
  22. Thanks for the info. Needless to say I'm upset. Like everyone else I'm really looking forward to the game and a release date that could be any where from little over a month to possibly almost 3, depending on actual release day, it is not encouraging. KoToR 2 is really banking on the success of 1. With people on both sides of the debate about Obsidian as a new company any negative feelings starting out can be hard to live down. At this point I'm not blaming Obsidian, but LA. This seems like another one of their winner ideas here. I guess you don't have to be bright when you can just keep living off one of the biggest marketable stories out there. Star Wars Galaxies helps prove that as well. Over all I'm very disappointed as I'll not be playing X-box version. If for no other reason sheer principle as I don't want anyone making money off the idea after pulling something like that. I'm not even going to rent the thing. I would feel a lot different if up to this point it had not been promised the simultaneous release and the fact we've had/will have such a long wait.
  23. oh..oh..Do you get to play a Jedi Sedai? I want to play as a lightsaber Wraith. One Darth to rule them all and in the darkside of the force bind them.
  24. Just one more stupid change. I hate most of the things Lucas has added/changed.
