What would you say when killing someone?
Spooky replied to OrganisedChaos's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Die by the very weapons you adore !!! Your destruction is the will of the force !!! The Jedi code has prevailed again !!! Die devil !!! What, don't anybody remember Privateer ?, those retros were a riot -
Any number of people that had no contact with each other can come up with a name like Malak because it has a badass ring to it and incidently, it fits the simple minded way sith appelations are thought up, the weakness is in the SW paradigm, it can only be transferred to Kotor.

Wow... just wow... I have such mixed feelings!

It has to be, I don't wanna have to buy an Xbox -
So is this the official composition of force enlightenment ? If so, is battle meditation still useful when you use it ?

Great picture, I'm keeping that for my archives. Just in case I stumble across some long winded load of non constructive bull**** from a shallow noobish meatbag who would use these boards yet again to complain on what he hated about the game.

Darth Traya, she's one of the most interesting characters in Kotor.

Most hated Star Wars character
Spooky replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yeah, that son of a bitch kid pissed me off too, that's the GL way, to make the bad guy, or in this case, the potential bad guy, look like a dumbass from the very early years of his life, the same might've been said for young Bobba. -
Most hated Star Wars character
Spooky replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I like Bobba Fett too, who dosen't, but when you think about it, him and his dad had cool armor and gear but weren't they somewhat incompetent, I mean, in Return of the Jedi, Bobba's efforts flounder so badly ending up with his death that he litteraly gets ridiculed, the same thing with Jango when he fights with Obi-Wan, sliding off the roof he looked kinda clownish, he even bumped his head alot when he wore his armor, and the way Mace Windu took him out was almost sad. It's like the Fett family, try as they might, would've made better accountants then anything else. Candy man is a far better testament to the mandalorians, I guess it's just like Kreia said. Juhani more efficient the Candy man ? Not a chance, did you ever shop around and get him the good stuff or did you just let him have the gear the game gives you, I tell ya, level him the right way with dex for ranged attacks and master rapid shot, get him a heavy exoskeleton and the Baragwin heavy blaster, and he kicks ass and chews bubblegum on the starforge, better then any jedi, except Revan of course, don't think the sith's blaster deflection of shields could take his hale of fire. Everyone's got a grudge against Mission, but I found her to be the most competent tech I had in Kotor, T3 was good but he didn't match her skills. Give Zalbaar two Baragwin assault blades fully upgraded and tell me you don't like having him in a fight. Everyone raves about Bastilla, sure she's cute, but she's by far the worst jedi in your party, not a good fighter or force user, she's a completely story based character if you ask me. Jolee might not have been such an amazing fighter and his potency with the force can't hope to match Revan but the old man had some damn funny stories to tell. I like HK too, like the Fett's, he's reached legend status, but when he comes down to it, is he such a great gunslinger ? in either game ? not a chance, I'd pick Candy man over him anyday, his attacks aren't as powerful and for a fighter he dosen't get enough feats. If you ask me, Carth is a completely story based character, I equipped him with the best weapons and armor I could find, the result is HKish, Candy man beats him in every department. I read in this thread a comment about Kotor 2's NPCs being more useful then Kotor 1's. In Kotor 1, everyone was useful, they all participated, and none of them stayed on the ship all the time. I mean, Kotor2, Mira, Atton, Visas, how many jedi sentinels do you need anyway ? The Handmaiden, Bao-Dur, how many jedi guardians do you need anyway. With all those jedi, some of them being tech specialists, demolitions and security experts, who needs a gunner and engineer like T3 or GO-TO? or a so-so gunner like HK. You probably use Mandalore because the game dosen't give you the option to choose, I have great respect for Mandalore though. That's Kotor 2's weakness, and if you make Kotor 3, put less NPCs in it, but make them more useful. -
The only one you need to bring along for influence is Bao, the others can be turned through dialogue only, a few locations on Nar Shadaa, and a few levels for the handmaiden. Goto's not that bad to have around, I'm thinking of using him more, he's gotta be on par with T3 in a fight, I'll just give him a pair of highly juiced up pistols and the warfare upgrade, Goto, afterall is the only droid that can use stealth technology. I think the people at Obsidian should've made Goto a completely different type of droid, having a whole other expert droid is redundant since you already have T3 which you can heal with the force.

I think there were 9 spaces in the character selection window, they had to find something to put in the last one, that's when Juhani came in. -
All the really great things about this game
Spooky replied to vortexwx's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The graphics are somewhat dated I would agree, but they work, no one can dispute that. The thing I didn't like, but it was also true of Kotor, is that this game is immensly dumbed down, the ennemies are too easily dispatched, and the quests are very simple in structure. This game could really pick up a few pointers from Baldur's Gate. But, it is a console game to begin with and one must bare in mind that there's only so much you can do with those blasted handheld controllers. If you ask me, I think something very bad happened to the RPG genre when NWN came out, it did something to the rest of them. I finished NWN, but maybe I just harbor such bad memories because of the years of anticipation we had to endure before it came out and when it did... well you know the rest, it's like what happened with Shadowbane, what a piece of junk. -
Dunno if this is patch related, or if it's an easter egg, or it's just because I never delved deep enough in his dialogue, but Goto revealed that he really is a droid, he is in fact the AI that was supposed to manage things for the ithorians on Telos but was lost. Maybe it was an awarness check, I never had enough of it on my previous playthroughs.

Who the hell is the actor playing Anakin, what were they thinking when they signed him up ? My reflex is of course to vote for Jar-Jar, but if not a close second, Anakin could win it. -
Does that look like some kinda lightclaymore ? with a 6 foot blade ? that would rock, when you swing that thing it makes a lightsaber sound but probably much deeper.

Dual wield or Double Bladed?
Spooky replied to simply yellow's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Like the man said, all of these numbers are all well and good, but there ain't anything in this game that can take too much punishement, so why bother. And if training your entire carreer to be an expert fighter just so the final battle, the one that might still pose a challenge, will no longer pose one is somewhat senseless. I find the information in this thread most illuminating though. -
Strategy for a Consular->Jedi Weaponmaster?
Spooky replied to Slimy McQuarren's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
How do you get to 50 ? with the savegame editor ? -
I'd say your first stop is definetly Nar Shadaa, on Nar Shadaa you're sure to get at least 3 lightsabers, you get the last parts needed to reactivate HK, you get the levels needed to turn the handmaiden into a jedi guardian, you get the npc encounters needed to turn Atton into a jedi sentinel, you get Mira and the means to turn her into a jedi sentinel, or you get Hanharr if you're DS, you get Goto, and you get crucial influence needed to turn Bao-Dur into a jedi guardian. You get your prestige class there too, but you get that by leveling anyhow. All of this can be done between the moment you first land on Nar Shadaa and the first time you leave it. After that, I guess you could check out Dantoine, good lightsaber stuff there and probably enough influence to finish turning Bao-Dur. Either that or Dxun, which seems like the better choice, you get Mandalore there, other quests require him to be present.
-
On Nar Shadaa, I got a conversation between Visas and the Handmaiden I've never seen before, and later when Mira came aboard, she had a discussion with the Handmaiden that was new to me. I'm not sure if this is an easter-egg, it is my third playthrough and I did complete the game LS and DS before, or if it's new content, which I doubt, or maybe it's just something I forgot about. For those who wonder when this happened, it was around the time I had to go after Visquis.
-
That means I got 1 more to go, thanks.
-
I got plenty of influence with Bao-Dur, in fact I downloaded a guide to do just that, and he still hasn't given me the opportunity to turn him into a jedi, I managed to do it on my first LS playthrough, but I don't remember how I did it. Does anyone know how or when Bao-Dur offers you the opportunity to train him, I trained everyone else, and I'd like to get this out of the way before I level him some more. Please let me know.

It's a known issue.

Well, a good natured thread has gone haywire, for the last seven pages or so. Baley has joined the madness. Will you? Spooky. You are a FBI agent investigating "X-Files", which are cases of a paranormal nature. Your real name is Fox Mulder. You are still searching for your missing sister, whom was abducted by aliens beings, while you stood there and watched. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Man, I was aware of some of the highlights of the show, but nothing so detailed as what you describe, so I guess you're a geek, but then again who on these boards isn't Oh btw, the guy who smoked 12 packs of cigarettes a day, did he buy the farm at some point ? 12 packs a day...you just can't do that, apparently the guy in the suit from Half-life is supposed to be based on that guy, but I don't think they really got the spirit of the character. Funny how it was half-life who bought the farm the minute Kotor2 came out, I haven't even looked at my copy of Half-Life 2 since Kotor2 came out, crazy, huh.

What the hell is going on here ?
