  1. I doubt the patch can fix that, my advice, be paranoid, be VERY paranoid, make an independant save when you arrive on a new planet, make an independant save when you're about to enter a new area on a planet, make an independant save after you complete something tedious, and if you're a newb and you're not sure where all of this is going, make an independant save, and have peace of mind. And most importantly, make a habit of pressing that F4 button, each time you're about to talk to an npc, each time you open a door, each time you seem to get close to an npc or a location that will trigger something. The damage control you can do with those independant saves and quicksaves is impressive to say the least. Just remember, that while the autosave feature can save your ass if you take advantage of it in time(which is rarely the case), being paranoid can let you fix almost anything (except for my Yavin inventory on Kotor 1 ). Nothing's worse then saving your game to oblivion and losing 10 hours of progress or having to restart from the very beginning because you didn't have any independant saves, it bites there's no doubt. Of course, you don't have to take it from me, just read it up in your Vault Dweller's guide and remember, when you see that flash, duck ! and cover ! The thing that sucks about real life is, we can't quicksave
  2. That explains it , I don't think I went there after Dantoine or Kashyk. Only one star map to go now, and if I remember correctly, I probably won't be able to return to Yavin before the game takes me directly to the starforge.
  3. I find that light side powers like the stasis field lineup get resisted alot in the early levels, so I use the force wave series instead, they tend to work well throughout the game, and if you're LS, the force wave series is the only offensive force power you get apart from destroy droid. DS powers tend not to be resisted even from the first levels.
  4. I've visited him a great many times, before and after the leviathan, and his inventory never changed.
  5. That's strange, the rodian had no lightsaber crystals for sale, he did have a baragwin weapons for HK, Canderous and Zaalbar, along with the heavy and light exoskeletons, he's also got a nifty bracer, +5 dex, +5 bolt deflectoon I think.
  6. Ok, it didn't go well... ...wanna be more specific on what you mean by that ?
  7. ...when you actually have new material to add to a thread such as this...
  8. This may be considered off-topic, I figure most people who played Kotor ended up here so that's why I'm asking. I'm playing Kotor for old times sake, and I was wondering about the high end weapons and armor I can buy in stores. I'd just like to know if anyone ever tallied all the best stuff to buy in Kotor. For example: a rodian merchant on Korriban sells a weapon called Kassus Fett's heavy pistol, a very good weapon for Carth, a rodian merchant at Yavin sells a very decent heavy rifle for Canderous, a very welcome change from Ordo's heavy blaster, along with some nifty light armor for Mission and a good heavy armor called the heavy exoskeleton. A rodian merchant on Dantoine sells Kassus Fett's heavy armor, a twi'lek merchant on Datoine sells Jurgan Kalta's assault rifle, ideal for HK-47, a welcome change from Chuundar's bowcaster. And all of that dosen't cover everything, these weapons may not even be the best or the only ones out there, that's why I'd like the real deal on this.
  9. That modified head is pretty good, though it dosen't look DS enough to me, in terms of Kotor that is, in other Star Wars material, the dark side dosen't deform you that badly.
  10. 6 hours ??? are you nuts ? it took me 47 hours on the first playthrough, and 35 on the second. 6 hours, you musta cut some pretty big corners to manage that.
  11. it could have been the best game of Bethesda but Disney screwed it like LA screwed kotor2 (for the short time), you find the best ship at the end and you cannot use it (really sad), but anyways the game is cool and you will enjoy it if you play it <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I woulda preferred hearing a completely negative critic on this game, it woulda made things simpler I guess I'll just have to see about ordering it through the net now.
  12. hmpf... I think Juhani actually a heterosexual kathar female.... not bi,and definatly not gay lol <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry if I disapoint you but Juhani could actually be bi or gay, cause in kotor 1 when you're a girl she say she care for you in the end...and more than a friend... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think Juhani is simply an NPC with limited dialog options regarding your character's gender, I don't think it's worth trying to put anymore sense into it.
  13. To me, Revan was the bald guy with no scar and a goatee (did I spell that right), and that goes for DS or LS. The exile is buddy Jesus when playing LS, and the the spanish guy with long hair when playing DS, that face has a nice DS eye changing feature too, his pupils just disappear.
  14. I'm playing through Kotor right now, and I find the ranged characters aren't half bad, of course my revan is a jedi and he uses a lightsaber, but I've been using Carth and T3 (with Bendak's blaster and the Zabrak Tystel Mk3), Canderous (with Ordo's blaster, wish I could find something better though), HK (with Chuundar's Bowcaster, there may be a better rifle out there), and even Mission (with the Zabrak Tystel Mk3). And I gotta say that while I force wave and engage the ennemies in melee combat, they mop them up pretty good, I usually don't have time to kill more then ennemies myself, I maxed out they're dex, something the autoleveling option dosen't do. Of course, in situations where abundant close combat is required, I prefer the other jedi and Zaalbar with Bacca's blade. Gonna have to shop around more to find the best guns in the game, some of them can be found at Yavin I think.
  15. Right you are, thank god that didn't cross his mind
  16. Kinda like Atton, with some Carth thrown in, got some of Kreia's personnality too.
  17. When you're lightside you're broke. Dark side's good for business. In Kotor2, it's better to play a LS Weapon Master or a DS Sith Lord, because the LS power: force enlightenment is the best for melee combat, and the DS power: force crush is great for heavy force users. And I gotta say that playing DS isn't as fullfilling as playing LS, you always feel like you've acted like a random thug.
  18. Hey Archangel, I see a copy of Pirates of the Carribean on your desk there, I opened my Morrowind box recently and saw the commercial for that game again, forgotten all about it. Since then I've been raking the game stores for it, it's impossible to find can't even find it in the odd bargain bin. I rarely saw a title disappear so completely, was it any good ?
  19. Rumor is some other kids from SW kid's class stole the video he was making for some school project or other, they're the ones who posted that stuff on the net. When SW kid found out, his family sewed people all over the place and SW kid was so depressed at being massively ridiculed he turned suicidal for a while. Man that kid should've kept closer tabs on that tape he made, just goes to show that if you wanna do something stupid you better be careful about it. Still the money he made sewing people probably cheered him up
  20. The way I see it, if they wanted to patch this game they should've done so before, I didn't get that many problems with the game and I don't feel the need to add new content. Kotor2 paid for itself (50 hours+ gameplay is above average these days making it worthwhile), it was a good buy, and I feel I've had my fun with that game, nuff said.
  21. Nihilus is a recurring theme in Kotor and in many modern RPGs, you just gotta see all sides of the issue. The people here are experts at this game, they know the numbers, they've read about them, and they build characters that are so fine-tweaked that they become insanely powerful and good at what they do. For people like these, killing Nihilus is extremely easy. You still have to take statistics into account though, of all the people out there, there have to be some that are so newbish that for them, developping the most ineffective and useless character possible cannot be dismissed, it will happen. In order to allow even these people to finish the game so as not to frustrate them, npc's like Nihilus had to be toned down so as not to create insurmountable odds, it's good business Maybe they should build a gaming engine that evaluates how your character is designed and sets the game difficulty accordingly. And of course, if you hand out insanely powerful force techniques such as force crush, it makes sense that opponents like Nihilus will be defeated without even being able to lift a finger, not that I don't like force crush but it is too powerful, the "sith lords" as they are, have all been annihilated in short order thanks to repeated force crushes, that dosen't entirely make sense, it ain't the kinda stuff you'd see in movies.
  22. It dosen't really matter now anyway. What we got here is another Homeworld 2 phenomenon, I've had time to play through it thrice, get all enthusiastic about the game and then get really tired of it before the patch ever came out. When it did come out, about 2 months after all that, I downloaded it for good measure, but I never installed it, and I haven't played the game again either. Even if the patch comes out, you gotta wonder if you're gonna play the game again just because of that.
