I would win... xD [/sarcasm] Have you seen anyone here yelling "Noooob !", to those who play on Story Mode or Easy ? There's room for everyone here, it's a simple discussion, grow up dude. Either way, you're welcome to share "why" you didn't play on harder difficulties, instead of bitching out.
  11. You really don't have to, I played PoTD + Expert with regular Companions [so not Min-Maxed], & a regular Cipher that felt right to me [No Min-Max either], had no attributes under 10. Never used Exploits like Fog of War. Simply planned good Strategy, [& got ****ed many times lol], but it's definietly possible. Tough, but feasible. [All the Dragons, Bounties, Etc] You can do it, if you set yourself to do it "the right way". [Gotta put things in context though : No Games like these for 10+ years, hyped as F**k, & f**cking up for a Challenge !] Never even considered turing expert mode on. I don't feel like it adds any interesting chalenge it just hides important information, which you could write down manually. Didn't played Expert on second & subsequent runs, & I remember I was shocked to see that the game actually shows us Spell's AOEs. Because I didn't even knew they exist ! In fact, I was dead set to play on PoTD, but I chose "Expert" aswell because of the Description lol : "Players who want to rely on their own faculties & intuition while playing the Game should play Expert Mode." "Well... I think that's me, right ?!" But it doesn't tell you what the "helpers" are, like AOEs & Stuff. Learned it the Hard way. Also, you can't really write down a Fireball Area of Effect... Haha. Killed myself so many times because of this. Hidden AOEs was the thing about Expert Mode that added an "Extra Hard" Layer, [Which felt good to me]. even though I didn't really know what it was doing at the time, I really enjoyed it.

  13. Yeah yeah, I hope so, I do remember what Justin's Plans was as you mentionned it. We don't know yet, but Stay in tune because the very next Update is about Audio. So I hope we'll learn more on that.
  14. I personally do, especially in cRPG's. [Don't get me wrong or see any form of arrogance or oversized ego here] But the reason I instantly play on PoTD is for the feelings. I grew up with this type of games, therefore I'm pretty familiar with their Mechanics. I think the thing is that, I got used very early to get my butt kicked in these Games , & never gave up. [Gotta be quite stubborn] That's one side of the coin. Second side is just the sensation you get when you beat X, Y or Z. You got to try hard & provide the hell out of the best you can do, to succeed. [Gameplay wise] It's kinda satisfying. Also, I tend to go for PoTD because the harder the challenge, the longer the game "lasts", if you know what I mean. I'm usually not frustated by dying / retrying or whatever, but, if I set myself to play what is about to be a great, long, epic story. I want it to be hard, especially on the 1st Run when you don't know anything about the Game. So I'm going to struggle making my way through, & enjoy the "Playthrough" longer. I think that would basically be why. It's just my way of doing it. But, I agree with Dr <3, I don't know if you will have that many PoTD voters, but it's interesting. And I do understand why people don't, & play on lower difficulties. That's completely fair. EDIT : I second what Wormerine said, Hard is great for the reasons he evoked. I just go for PoTD for that Extra Layer of Butt Kicking ! Because why not. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PS : Just wanna say though, if you wanna be the guy making Tests, on Mechanics, Builds, Balance, etc. & you wanna be taken seriously, on why A sucks, why B is unbalanced : Then you probably shouldn't be doing your tests on Story Mode or Relaxed difficulty, for obvious reasons. Normal shoud be the strict Minimum in my opinion, because that's the Difficulty the Game is designed around. [both Pillars I & II, are designed around Normal & Hard according to Josh]

[Although, Assassin/Soul Blade with the Soul Annihilation Ability is f**king appealing to me, gotta admit...] I'm still mad that we can't make a Rogue / Cipher who can cast "Ripping Knives" on themselves...   17. You can now Re-Target any Spell being casted, so you won't miss if Ennemies are moving away. Cast > Pause > Re-Target > Unpause > .

  19. Just a Disclaimer : I wanna say that an Encounter "can" disappear, if you play it that way within the Dialogue Choices, throughout the Scripted Interaction. That's totaly fine & a pretty valid outcome. But what I'm pointing at is the fact that : It can disappear even if you don't do anything with it, [Aka : Instantly Leave], so it shouldn't disappear, as it isn't "solved" yet. Just wanted to make sure the point was clear enough & understood. I think that's a bug.

  21. It's good news, but I kinda expect the same Variety of heads for Godlikes in Deadfire, to be similar as Pillars. [Like 2 or 3] Because, as he said, they're hard to make & Dimitri didn't start to do them until the end of Production, which... Is Now. But my hopes are at least for something like 5+ for each Godlike Races. That'd be cool. [i'd love more, of course, the more the better. But sayin 10+ for each, sounds quite unrealistic, and I'm even skeptical about 5+ at this point. So...] *Finger Crossed* EDIT : Cool Godlike Heads are gonna be the main factor as if I'm gonna play one or not ! Variety & Coolness has to be worth the "No Headgear" Dimitri ! Do you Hear me ?!!!
  22. No no, I think you got it right. One thing I'd add to Vancian & Empowering Topic that bugs me out. Empowering gives you the ability to "Restore" lost Spells : So why would they remove Per-Rest Spells, now that there's an additionnal way of restoring them aside from Resting ? [Which is what some people complained about]I know Empowering doesn't really "restore lost spells" properly speaking, it restores lost "Power Sources Points" back, (used to cast your Spells/Abilities). That said, I think they probably should : Get rid of that Source thing entirely. Go back to POE "Casting System". (Bringing back all the Spells they cut off in the process, if they can... But I wouldn't mind) Keep the Empowering thing to Boost some Spells, as it does now, that thing is cool actually. But where you could also use it to "NOT Boost a Spell", but instead, "Restore a chosen Per-Rest lost Spell", if you need to. Right-now you can use One Empower Point per fight, (Either to Boost, or Restore Power Source), one or the other. It's really limited. I think the amount of usage should be Unlimited, until you'd run out of those points. By Level 20, you should be given a total pool of 20 Empowering Points. You should be able to Empower your Fireball if you feel like it, then Empower your Arcane Veil because you need it, Etc, in the same Fight. If it happens that you think you're gonna need the Citzal Lance or whatever is the Spell you need to win the Fight ? But you didn't rest yet, and it's not available ? Then, you should be able to spend an Empowering Point, to be able to Restore & Cast it. Spoiler about the Soulbound Dagger unlocked potential (Currently in the Beta) : What I'm saying is that, having a Pool of 20 Empowering Points, by Level 20, [Or Whatever the Number is ! Balance it Wisely !] Plus the Possibility of Unlimited Usage during a Fight [Given how many Points left] & having the "Choice" to use it : To Boost To Restore Or not using it, & Economize it ! Then the whole "Empowering Mechanic", could actually be, what would bring back the Economy & Ressources Management that is Lost at the moment. Although, Early Levels could be tricky, because at Lvl 3, 4, or whatever, you'd probably constantly Rest to Restore your Lost Empowering Points, BUT : Josh wants to make Resolve a worth Stats >>> Make it so that the more you invest in it, the more Empowering Points are Given Back at the End of a Fight. [EDIT : I agree though, that I still need to see how is plays out within 20-30hrs of actual Gameplay]
