  1. I don't know if this fits your concept, but he could have a deck of cards instead of a grimoire. When the battle starts you use one of the randomly selected spells or spend an arcane point to draw another card (or cards).
  2. The tools could be used in the trinket slot. The Animancer could have abilities like "Charm Construct" and raise bodies in the battlefield. Dialogue and event interactions would have to be more detailed than for the arcana/metaphysics skill.
  3. You see, somebody had already thought about it. Edit: found another one, Durvara! It is not in the gallery yet.
  4. I'm pretty sure all the companions and sidekicks from Pillars 1 & 2 got the durance face lift in the main portraits. I haven't seen any watercolor variants. I'm talking about the character models...
  5. Yes, there are some odd moments, but there are also some dialogue options that show that you know their language and customs, that you've heard their legends and prophecies.
  6. Damn the robes! I want Sanguine BDSM gear for all my casters Good idea, it would allow so many new builds. Imagine the combinations with "The Lovers Embrace", "Ball and Chain", "Endre's Flog of Obedience", "The Willbreaker"... We would need a new "Lady of Pain" too and there would be an "Ogre Matron Dominatrix Transmuter"
  7. I'm playing as a wood elf pirate from the Deadfire and there were moments when people would refer to me as "you are not Huana, but you are from here." I don't see any problem with that. You can be from the Deadfire and be a pirate. But maybe you'll get more reactivity from the Principi if you are from Old Vailia.
  8. Not everyone appreciates diplomacy. And convincing the Dragon was more a matter of explaining arcana-related stuff than using nice words or psychology.
  9. Ok, now I want a sanguine robe. Or four. Let my whole party form a cult around my sanguine bleak walker!
  10. Iirc, Earth's precession takes 26000 years, so it's strange that it looks like that today. Unless, like Raithe says, you can just move to another corridor, in which case that is a very smart design.
  11. This is a good idea. I was a little confused the first time I saw the screen. I bet I was not the only one.
  12. What if someone wants to have Skaen's fog of war and play on normal? Or start with 5.000 to recruit a custom party immediately when playing on PotD with challenges? A solo character with +2 on each stat would still have a bigger challenge than a full party, so mixing all the options wouldn't necessarily make the game easier. Making Deadfire as interesting as possible even to the (majority of the) players that don't play on PotD would increase replay value and benefit everyone. I don't know how many more players would come or how many more hours people would play, but it certainly wouldn't reduce those numbers. Edit: They can keep the achievements for PotD/no Berath's Blessings, so anyone who care about that can be happy too.
  13. I'd rather turn them into pets. Mini-Berath and Mini-Eothas have already been suggested. I prefer a Mini-Rymrgand.
  14. You can't see the iris. Anyway, even the official watercolor portraits can be a little blur in the eyes...
  15. By announcing two games at the same time, an IWD-style set in the Living Lands and PoE3 in the Aedyr Empire or whatever location won that poll a few weeks ago. PoE3 could come later, but people would still know that it would come. This, of course assuming that it was what they wanted to do.
  16. I understand the tactics involved, but I didn't like that system. It is one of the things that make me prefer the first game. Good old times when I could start a battle by shooting a electric cloud arrow. Or a poison cloud followed by fire...
  17. I actually wouldn't mind if they added more levels and simply let us choose more of the lower level abilities. But without gaining much more hp, accuracy, etc. Otherwise the characters would become too powerful. Maybe they could let multiclass characters reach 8th (or 8th and 9th) and add a 10th level only for single class, which would include more empower points, +x power levels and so on. Anyway, I'm certainly not the best person to talk about balance, so who knows how this would work...
  18. If 100 people buy your game, maybe half will buy your DLC also. Only 10 will finish both. Why would you drop a bunch of resources trying to account for something 90% of your players aren’t going to see or care about? Besides, Obsidian is adding Megabosses for people who can’t bear to be high level for anything other than the last 10 minutes of the game. If they restricted high levels for the DLCs, there would be a lot of people complaining about it ("Don't force us to buy the DLCs!") and some would say that they had reached max level even faster than it happens the way it is now.
  19. I like to do the WM1 just before the hearing so that I don't lose access to Defiance Bay. And I don't want to start act III just to regain access, because then I can't level scale. Also, if I go to the WM and come back to finish act II, it will be too easy and boring. WM2 I do last, just before act IV because I prefer to let some time pass between the two expansions.
