Agreed, bring back the endings by location. Mask of the Betrayer's ending was more Fallouty than F3. As for your examples CrashGirl, yeah there were some odd dead ends but not every multiple choice ending came to a anti-climactic conclusion like that. You could also save the Sheriff's life if you were quick on the draw against Burke, though the Sheriff's thanks are also anti-climactic.

I feel sorry for Obsidian. No matter what they do, unless they completely convert the F3 engine to emulate the original isometric turn based originals purists will probably gripe about it as much as F3. Or not.

The Terminator would be proud. Put it in the game! Speaking of guns... I'd love to see some WWII era weapons in the game. The Fallout universe splits from our own sometime after WWII (right?) so, while modern weapons like M4s and Berettas might be a bit out of place WWII era equipment like some seen in F2 might make sense. Then again it would be amazing to see that stuff survive 200 years later, but I really don't care about that point.

Here I was expecting some sort of well thought out response instead of generic 'I hate Bethesda and everything they do which means Fallout 3 sucks no matter what' response. Anyone who thinks the game has anything positive is Another example. Getting a key off Dukov. You can use a speech check, threaten him for the key, pickpocket the key or charm one of his whores to steal the key for you. @ Josh Sawyer - Yes... all guns should be removed except the BB gun.

Have you actually bothered taking the other choices in Fallout 3 besides the immediate and most obvious? There are usually many ways to complete the side quests besides just shooting someone. Take Moira's quest for example. If you take your time to do all the side options and complete it fully you will run into wastelanders who praise you and thank you for creating the guide which helps them survive day to day. Lie about the tasks Moira gives you and the wastelanders will be killed off, unable to fend for themselves. If you actually take the time to compare options in the original games you will find that many times F3 comes close or even surpasses the original in certain choices. I love it, even if the dialogue is at times. I was 15 when Fallout came out... absolutely loved it, played it a zillion times without a guide with many different characters. Not too fond of Fallout 2 and its cheese ball humor, but still a great game too.

Fallout 3 definitely has some stinker dialogue at points, but it also has a ton of options in many of the quests and I'm frequently surprised about the events I can talk about or the decisions available. Yeah, I think its a damn good CRPG.

I love Fallout 3, more so than either Fallout 2 or Tactics, but I can't imagine anyone considering Fallout 3 to be harder than the original games. There are only a billion stimpaks to down. My character's body probably looks like someone who ran into a nest of Africanized Honey Bees after all the stimpak injections he has taken.
-
I think a good way to balance the stims without having to modify their frequency (like candy on Halloween) would be that every time a stim, food item or booster chem was used during battle or within the vicinity of a hostile a second (or more) long animation should play showing the use of the item (or simply lower the weapon in hand and play some sort of consistant sound with the item being used if it takes too long to animate the various items). Instead of being able to inject/down 5 Stims, 10 Nuka Colas, a Psycho and a Med X during a pipboy pause you would have to use one item at a time in real time. Even better, allow you to eat in Vats mode. How cool would it be to have slow mo and a spinning camera as you scarf a Blamco burger?!?

I got into Trek a bit after playing the Elite Force games which I really enjoyed, but I just never got into the show enough to watch it in order instead of just watching a random episode here and there (what I do with any show that I really get into like 24 or Lost).

Fallout 3 DLC Broken Steel out Today!

True, but I doubt the mods balance the higher levels or add a story to go along with post-end gameplay. I've enjoyed Fallout 3 so much that I have no problem purchasing the extra content. -
Fallout 3 DLC Broken Steel out Today!
GreasyDogMeat replied to GreasyDogMeat's topic in Computer and Console
Eurogamer Review: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/fallout-...en-steel-review 7/10 "Even so, Broken Steel is an essential upgrade to Fallout 3 that any committed fan will want to grab immediately." IGN Review: http://xboxlive.ign.com/articles/980/980045p1.html 8.5/10 "Lifting the level cap breathes new life into a great game, but shouldn't totally overshadow a new series of quests that is a lot of fun." I've purchased all 3 DLC at once and started a new game so it will be a while before I get to the DLC content. I plan on waiting until I'm at the Brotherhood of Steel compound before tackling Operation Anchorage & The Pitt. -
Breaking: Duke Nukem dev 3D Realms closes it's doors!

Duke 3D was amazing for it's time. I still occasionally play it for the nostalgia factor. Speaking of Prey, when I saw those screenshots above I thought they were from Prey 2. -
Obsidian making Fallout: New Vegas

Remove the ability to heal crippled limbs by taking an hour long nap. Only a Doctor visit or use of stims directly to the limb should work. -

Oh... and one thing Fallout really needs. A gun like the mesmetron, except when you shoot someone people start uncontrollably dancing until they fall over drooling. -

I'd like to see how damaged the weapon is by looking at the weapon instead of a bar. Basically, if your gun is about to break it would be cool if it actually looked like it was about to break. Also, I hope that special weapons have special skins to make them stand out from the normal version. Like when you found the special BB gun in F2, it actually had it's owner's name on the side. -

I'd like a new quest list for the minor quests. In F3 these are kept under the 'Notes' section, but the minor quests can get lost in the pile of notes you accumulate over time. Things like gathering scrap metal, repairing the broken water lines etc. -
Wasn't his son a writer/director for Stargate? I know he had a funny cameo in one episode. Shame to hear, I always got a good laugh from him.

Star Trek fans bash new movie as 'fun and watchable'. http://www.hulu.com/watch/71495/onion-news...s-fun-watchable For shame Abrams! Every time I come on these forums I . Doh, Walshingham & Setzer beat me to it. I have to say, I agree with the FCC!

Fallout 3 DLC Broken Steel out Today!
GreasyDogMeat replied to GreasyDogMeat's topic in Computer and Console
Listening to all the negative talk about Fallout 3 I start believing it. Then I sit down and play the game and have as much fun as I did playing the first two. Bethesda made some pretty lame decisions but they made a heck of a lot of good ones too. If nothing else they've revitalized a dead franchise and even given a developer we all hoped would develop Fallout 3 in the first a chance to make another Fallout game. Good time to be a Fallout fan if you ask me. Certainly better than the Fallout BOS days. -

I don't think I ever beat Fallout 1 with Dogmeat dying. Meant a hell of a lot of stimpak usage though... -
Fallout 3 DLC Broken Steel out Today!

Don't mind a 30 cap... just need better perk options. That deep sleep sounds like a level one perk. I didn't even realize you needed a good bed to get the well rested status. I don't mind the one that sets all stats to 9. It requires a very high level to get and could be considered an 'epic' perk. -

Hopefully the actual new quest(s) will make up for the lackluster new perks. -
Fallout 3 DLC Broken Steel out Today!
GreasyDogMeat replied to GreasyDogMeat's topic in Computer and Console
What are you guys talking about? This is great stuff! Its so... so... ahhhh! You are all right! Pretty disapointing stuff. I do like the Dogmeat perk though. The change to the ending is worth it alone for me. -
I've got it installed, but unfortunately don't have my saves any more so I've started a new character, so it will be quite some time before I can see the new quests that take place after the game ends. I'm pleased they are altering the ending a bit and increasing the level cap to 30. The first notification I received after getting the DLC was that my level cap had been raised to 30. First level up I scanned down to check out the new perks and decided I would post them here. 22 Deep Sleep: No matter what bed you sleep in, you will receive the well rested +10% xp status. Probably the most useless perk yet... especially considering it's level 22 requirement. 22 Puppies!: If Dogmeat dies one of his offspring will be waiting at the entrance to Vault 101. 22 Quantum Chemist: Every 10 Nuka Colas in your inventory will be converted to a Nuka Cola Quantum. Excellent for those who don't want to hunt down all the hidden Quantum for a certain quest. 24 Devil's Highway: Immediatly sets Karma to very evil. I'll do it the old fashioned way by eating babies and kicking puppies. Not Dogmeat's though. 24 Escalator to Heaven: See Devil's Highway, except for good. 24 Karmic Rebalance: See Devil's Highway, except for neutral. 24 No Weakness: Any stat below 5 is raised to 5. Rendered moot by a higher level perk. 26 AGL 7 Nerves of Steel: Action Points are regenerated much faster. For those who love Vats. 26 END 7 Rad Tolerance: Minor radiation poisoning (200-399 rads) no longer has any negative effect. 26 INT 7 Warmonger: You learn all the custom weapon schematics without having to find them. 28 Party Boy/Girl: You no longer suffer any negative effects from alcohol withdrawal. 28 END 7 Rad Absorption: Radiation slowly lowers over time. 30 Almost Perfect: Any stat below 9 is raised to 9. 30 Nuclear Anomaly: Any time your health is lowered to 20 or less you will cause a nuclear explosion damaging both friend or foe. I'm certain this one will be the most contraversial.

Obsidian making Fallout: New Vegas
GreasyDogMeat replied to CoM_Solaufein's topic in Computer and Console
Versimilitude. I found all the little jokes in F2 FAR more distracting than the numerous computers, food items & lack of vegetation in F3. So what if Fallout 2's world may have felt a bit more real if every other character and scenario is bat**** crazy.
